For some reason the Smash presentation made me want to boot up Brawlout again.

Fun indie Smash game. I like that one of the characters has chargeable aerials and would be cool in Smash.

Dante being killed does make Capcom kinda interesting, if it gets a DLC character at all, that is.

Honestly, it's Phoenix or nothing IMO.

there's no way of knowing. We're notoriously bad at predicting smash, it would be even harder to predict exactly what goes through someone's mind.

for what it's worth, i think I heard that Sakurai like the Fighter's Pass format. We probably wouldn't have clearly defined passes if he had full control, it would be like Smash 4

That was most likely due to COVID shenanigans and development time.

Joker was announced in a similar way, but then everyone after him was on a solid 2-3 month pace once development kicked in.

I honestly think we have two, maybe two-and-a-half more months and we're done.

Probably not for another half a decade or so, yeah.

Although, at the same time, it'll be somewhat freeing to see Smash be dormant for a while and other franchises have time to shine. Smash dominates Direct conversation a lot, it'll be nice to see that change for a while.
