Ghost-Maker? Cause he is another Batman ally and old friend. Quickly joined the Bat Family after everyone but Harley of all people had a quick plot end to make room for Future State...only to continue on with Infinite Frontier

well unfortunately that's how it's currently like to be a hardcore as **** DC fan (funnily enough, the Harley Quinn show mocks WB and the fans in one go)
The villain I am thinking of is the bat who laughs. It is basically joker batman from what I keep reading.

DP25-JP006 Speedroid Roulette
Quick-Play Spell
You can only activate 1 card with this card’s name per turn.
(1) Discard 1 card; roll a six-sided die and Special Summon up to 2 “Speedroid” monsters from your hand and/or Deck, whose total Levels exactly equal the result, but their effects are negated. If you cannot, you lose LP equal to the result x 500.

I mean, I guess if you roll a high number you can just summon an instant synchro and combo from there?
At worst(rolling a 1), you’re going hand-2 to summon a lvl 1, which is basically the same thing as playing One for One. So I mean, it’s not a terrible card. It’s a good combo starter at least, but I doubt it’ll bring pure Speedroids into rogue status or anything. I also don’t see it being used outside of Speedroids, cause any deck that would want more One for Ones doesn’t want to restrict what archetype that lvl 1 monster is from, they usually have better targets they want to find.

edit: also, you can’t even run it as a reliable engine, because it whiffs if you can’t find exact levels to match your roll, which is a fair restriction tbh.

OK. A: Those games have very little in the way of fanservice, which is what I really want. B: Why can't we get that level of creativity and fun in a linear Mario game? Why can it only be in the sandbox ones? It's not impossible! I can think of plenty of cool ideas that would make 3D World 2 a ****ing amazing game!

An Injustice movie? Isn't that what the story mode is? I guess maybe they could adapt the spinoff comics but.... I guess I must have made my wish on a monkey's paw or something because this is not something that excites me. Weee. More Evil Superman.
kinda wanted a 3, but as long as the animated movie is good...
Add it to the pile of bad videogame movies.
DC did good with their Arkham animated movie (and that department in general is amazing), so I’ll keep in some hope
Injustice: The Movie based off the Game Based off the Comic based off the Game
Ratchet and Clank movie game wishing they could be that complicated
Oh Miyamoto.

There was a problem fetching the tweet
he isn’t wrong tbf

oh him...after another multiverse crisis, he was killed off (idk if for good or not) by Wonder Woman, who also saved the multiverse...while also making it so that Earth 1 is no longer the main DC Universe...and turned down being in control of the multiverse...which lead to the other leaders getting jumped by Darkseid who finally regrown up

Now I know you haven’t played it. The game is ****ing packed with references to the most obscure of Mario history. Just because Wario doesn’t appear doesn’t mean the game doesn’t have fanservice.

And to answer your second question. It’s because Nintendo considers linear Mario games to be the introductory games. A kid just hopping into Mario will only be familiar with the Mario brand they see on lunchboxes and T-Shirts, so the more linear games are made simple to appeal to that crowd. When they’re more acclimated to the Mario series they can play the 3D games, which are more grand in scope and bursting with creativity.

yknow, I’ve never really thought of it that way, but it makes perfect sense when you think of it like that.

The simpler, smaller games to introduce people
to what the franchise has to offer, then have the bigger, more expansive games be the ones that go out guns ablazing.

OK. A: There are plenty of rumors that NRS is working on a DC vs. Marvel game, which are very substantiated (see Maxamillion Dood's video) and such a project would be an amazing substitute for I3.
B: Why would a movie adaptation mean we AREN'T getting a third game under any circumstances?

OK. You got me. But like... there's very little in the way of outwardly identifiable fanservice. Like, no legacy villains (Wart, Tatanga, Wario, even DK), sure we got Pauline but there's still no Daisy or Rosalina. No references to Mario sub-series like Yoshi, DK, Wario. Nothing from the RPGs. No legacy power-ups. Easiest thing in the world would have been to bring back Isle Delfino as a DLC world and nothing. It's just... if they didn't do any of that then what fanservice is there?

Well that's kind of a lame and limiting way to look at it. And people get mad at me when I say there's an industry wide anti-linearity bias. Just because a game is linear doesn't mean it can't be grand in scope and bursting with creativity. Great example. Crash 4. And I wish people would stop automatically associating those traits with open world and/or sandbox games because all it's gonna do is just limit the variety and creativity that can be expressed in gaming as a medium.

And apparently Daisy was going to be playable, but was deemed too unimportant.

It's okay tho, we got Rosa and she's the best girl anyways, :nifty:

Wade and if you're still around these parts, Stained Grey: plz don't hurt me, Daisy's cool I was just making a funny.

Power Ups aren’t needed thanks to the capture mechanic.

Instead of bringing back every old villain they made new ones. Which is a breath of fresh air compared to the Koopaling onslaught.

Why would they reference the RPGs?

DK has a whole damn world full of references.

Yoshi is a playable character, and Poochy appears in several stages.

Sometimes fresh game mechanics take precedence over bringing back every single old concept for the sake of it. That causes bloat, and I’d much rather game developers try and make something new. And even then, they still managed to fill the game with tons of references to Mario’s history.

Just admit you were wrong about Odyssey. You aren’t even wrong about the philosophy of linear games not having to lack creativity.

edit: ok I did not mean to time this comment to match yours you snake
Surprised it took them this long.

Hopefully it doesn't have any of the dumbness the prequel comics had like Batman making things worst thus making him more like the villain or giving Harley the free pass despite her involvement with Metropolis' destruction.

OK. I guess I won't say it lacks fan-service. Just not the kind of fan-service I would have wanted to see. Like, the thing that I always come back to is that random unmanned UFO Boss in Wooded Kingdom. That should have been Tatanga. There was no reason for it not to be. Tatanga is a space alien in a UFO and the one they actually used had no personality of it's own. Which, from what I've seen, was pretty much every boss outside of the Broodles and Bowser. I'm fine with them making new villains but I want them to have personality and story attached. IDK. Just a little disgruntled.

And as for why would they reference the RPG's? BECAUSE IT WOULD BE SUPER DAMN COOL THAT'S WHY!

But yeah. I've laid out my own concept for my own ideal Mario game. You've actually questioned it before when I last posted it and asked why all this stuff was going into "a 3D World sequel of all things". So.... IDK. I just.. I feel like I need to say something but I can't.

Anyway

I have my own opinions about what'll drop at E3 in regards to games and Smash DLC.

Can't wait to see how right or wrong I am. :nifty:
I have mine too. I think I've shared them before even. Though mine is more of a list of everything I think COULD happen. Not everything I think WILL happen.

I agree with everything except the Smash.

There’s no way the last character will be this huge. Unless there’s a double reveal. Which I doubt. This is the end of Smash Ultimate, which has consistently provided hype for the switch for three years. They’re gonna wanna drag this out until September. I really think the last one’s gonna be a low key type deal, fitting for a fall Nintendo presentation.

Which is also why I feel CP10, the sole reveal at E3, will be a bigger deal than Lloyd. Maybe not Steve big, but certainly a big deal. And also because Snake is entirely wrong and there won’t be a Namco Character or Crash, but that’s besides the point :)

But y’know, none of this is serious. Just speculation. I’m not trying to get on your case or anything, just sharing my thoughts. We’ll see who’s right soon enough.

You know what my thoughts are. You know what I think will happen. But honestly at this point I kinda just want the band-aid ripped off, ya know?

Oh trust me, I doubt a double reveal as well, and if anything, we're going solo, but at the same time, wouldn't surprise me if there was one, since we've yet to have an E3 where we haven't gotten 2 characters at the bare minimum.

That, and E3 just feels like a nice end point for the pass. We'll still get Sakurai presents, but ending the speculation at E3 would give a nice sense of closure.
