although I've been playing melee, I didn't try to get into the competitive scene until way later.

was too late, brawl was announced.
Not to be prude and say brawl or melee is better, but I just put more into learning brawl since it was on it's way out and going to be fresh, so why not hop in the competitive scene as soon as then?

don't get me wrong, I still enjoy melee > brawl more.
I play it everyday.

but this is the video that just truly opened my mind:

This is the video that got me into competitive melee. Also it's ironically what introduced me to Japanese music. Since then and to this day, I have mained Marth.

As for brawl? Well, I don't have a brawl one, but I had a brawl+ one, but unfortunately it got taken down (we took down all the videos with outdated codesets).

I got so lucky because I just happened to search "professional super smash brothers melee players" one day and found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyqxyN4NhBo&feature=related.

I was confused as crap, then I became entranced and awed when I saw a match in the related videos section: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_m3gitYccuY

While watching that match I became enthralled with Falco and everything he could do. He looked so fluid, so dynamic, and that double shine to Upair probably helped get my attention a little too. XD

Lucky for me the how to play video by Wak was on the related videos for THAT match. Lucky, huh?

Oh yeah, I actually mained Mario before Falco since I'm a sucker for the generic good guy, and I watched this vid religiously for about half a year before fully switching mains to Falco: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwjvYK698_M Awesome music and awesome Mario. The Cape *****.

I know I know, you probably just want ONE video, but I can't just pick one. They all got me into smash and held my interest in the game in different ways, encouraging me to get better despite living in a remote area of my state with only my younger brother to improve with.

Well i was a halo player in 06 and i was by chance on the mlg page when the live stream of mlg anaheim was going on, Ken vs PC match 5 set 2- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOOGfYEwK70

I had been thinking about starting to play smash from before in 06 to make some easy money because the last time I had played(like 03) i was the best out of all my friends, i thought ken and pc where like a little under my level haha.
I researched some more and after i saw this video-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeJ5AT5_aM4- i realized it wasnt going to be easy money at all LOL

ahh good memories, god ****ing **** i love melee.

This got me playing C.Falcon.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSQuhzHE5ww I actually though falcon sucked *** before seeing this cuz his smash attacks were so slow. I played Marth back then.

This got me to seriously think about going to tournaments. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Y8rQ_0zNIg. I can't remember if I saw this before or after brawls release but brawls release I sorta gave up on competitive play. I assumed Melee was dying and Like I'm honestly gonna play a sequel with no combos and a severely nerfed falcon.

Then later on I saw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vziStKcg6g and was all like "**** it I'll do it anyway!"
