Adam was actually cool in Fusion though, reminded me of a benevolent HAL.

Our Smash Direct Ridley was Tanooki Ridley.

HA! His tail is clipping through the cape! Hm...how would Samus and Zamus (mostly Samus) look like in this suit...and charizard too...and BOWSER...and GANONDORF. Just imagine Bunnydorf with Lip`s Stick and Tanooki suit...NOW THAT IS A TRULY TERRIFYING GUY!
And it wasn`t Tanooki Ridley since he had his tail spike intact. It could be Ridley with perfectly timed jumps (except for the last one) or floating (like Peach) Ridley.

What, when did that happen? I don't remember there being a "Pyrosphere" in the BSL Research Station.

Also, even though this is against Ridley, has anyone thought that Nintendo could announce a new Metroid at E3 that is a successor/sequel to Hunters with Sylux as the main antagonist? I feel like someone from Nintendo said they would like to do something like this. Perhaps they could announce Sylux for Smash there. If this were to happen, would you be okay with Ridley not being a playable character? I would personally be very disappointed, but I would get over it eventually as long as the Ridley boss battle is freakin' awesome.

Freaking awesome boss battle is still nothing compared to playable Ridley and no one else can replace him even if Sylux will become main antagonist. He and Samus has nothing between them, at least nothing compared to Ridley - he killed her parents, everyone she knew on her homeworld, attempted to kill her numerous times, stole baby metroid, desecrated part of Zebes, her 2nd home that was destroyed with Ridley AND THAT IS STILL NOT EVERYTHING HE DID TO HER, so, he will always be more important.
Oh, and welcome to this thread, where insane followers of Ridley cult idolize GREAT AND GLORIOUS RIDLEY, and prove that he can work, analyze everything that is somehow connected to Ridley in SSB4 and just poste weird and awesome fan art of OUR GREAT AND GLORIOUS LEADER, RIDLEY!

Really? I loved Hunter's Multiplayer, so a sequel would be cool for the 3DS!

As for Ridley, I would be nearly soul crushed if another Metroid rep got in over him, even if it is Sylux, who's my 2nd choice.
Odd, considering Trace was my favorite hunter.

The tanoki tail is the answer if for tail characters it does not turn tail characters tails into the raccoon one

Metroid Prime Hunters is actually the only Metroid game I really played when I was younger; I never finished it, but I still only got around to trying Metroid Prime and Super Metroid much later in life, and only very recently have I really started sinking my teeth into the latter. Personally, I would greatly enjoy the presence of any one of the hunters from that game on the roster; Weavel in particular seems like he could be really fun and unique, given how he can casually detach his legs and leave them lying around as a turret while he hobbles around slicing at people's legs. Throw in his Battlehammer, and he could be all kinds of fun, lobbing shots all over the place and chopping at people while whole, and being able to apply pressure from two sides at once with his turret-legs any time he feels like it, but at the cost of power (in particular losing access to his good kill-moves), mobility, and weight. Certainly more moveset potential than Adam or Anthony, at least.

However, I don't really think any other Metroid character should get in before Ridley; as fun as Weavel or any of the other Hunters would be, Ridley means more to Metroid than any other character; any other character getting in instead would just be the victim of hate from people who'd blame them for "stealing" Ridley's spot, unfair as it may be. Added in addition to Ridley, they'd be more than welcomed, but otherwise they'd just end up inflating what's already a big sore spot with Metroid Smash fans; the initial ire would calm down eventually, but considering there's still Mewtwo fans who hate Lucario for "replacing" Mewtwo, I'd wager the hate a hypothetical non-Ridley Metroid newcomer would get would last quite a while, possibly even after Ridley is, let's say, the first revealed newcomer for Smash 5.

So despite my fond memories of Hunters, and how cool a Hunters character would be, I'd rather see Ridley in first, if only to prevent a situation where they end up being hated unfairly.

It was like "...I... I know you...". Afterward he was just running on raw internal hatred and bloodlust for Samus.

It's possible he had some other residual memories, but chances are they would be all muddled and too unclear to make sense.

Not sure why they went the shell route for the evolution of Ridley. You can see how fast he progressed in such a short span but it hurts my head watching anything Ridley like come out of little birdie.

I wouldn't say it was a bad game but was a left turn from the standard. I'll give them a nod for trying something else other than what Mario has been doing since Galaxy.

haha, you've been lurking almost as long as I've been posting. Impressive.

I would be happy to get another metroid newcomer in this described case, but I would be quite disappointed if it wasn't ridley, and honestly, Dark Samus deserves the spot more than sylux as well.

Metroid Fusion certainly did the whole character develpoment and interactivity a heck of a lot better than Other M.

In Fusion, Adam legitimately felt like a mentor to Samus, guiding her through the B.S.L. and telling her what to and what not to do for her own survival, which is a key priority due Samus' weakened state. His pressence alone did felt quite reassuring throught the unnerving nature of the game.

In Other M, he was UGH.

And i would reduce it to Zero Mission type of story with just Adam talking during the briefing and through the comn link or whatever its called, Hyper Beam/Zebes explosion being blamed for loss of most of the upgrades (makes more sence than Metroid Prime 1 and Super Metroid explanation), Ridley having something more to do with the plot like killing unimportant characters instead of the "Deleter" and in a brutal way (including snapping neck somewhere near ten times before throwing into the wall or knocking one of them down and just kicking while he is lying down to just show Ridley`s rage after his death), but without showing any of those injuries to lower the ESBE ranking to at least 12+. And of course, gameplay-wise, i would make 1st person mode work like in Prime (scan things, to fire exactly at the weak point, MOVE). No other changes other than reducing appearance of Zero Suit to either 0 or 1 (i would prefer 0). That would make it a great game, right?
