No need to tell me that, I have more than 100 hours clocked on Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Monster Hunter isn't a fighting game, though.

Doesn't change the relative complexity those monsters pose on the system, as mentioned before the worse Ridley can do is have some complex animations, those monsters have all that and more.

If this proves anything at all, it's that characters that are attributed to stages already announced are by no means deconfirmed, and that the Western audience does matter.

With Little Mac's inclusion and the "alterations" made to the Boxing Ring stage, I'm like 90% sure we're getting Ridley now.

I think the Ridley shaped hole in the wall, will be gone from the stage once Ridley is announced.

Doesn't change the fact that your argument is that Ridley would be too taxing on the system, and those monsters along with the aforementioned characters in the Smash game already show the exact opposite in terms of what the system can handle. So the point of the matter is: If the system can handle all that, why is Ridley under scrutiny?

Honestly, the 3DS is getting way too much heat in this argument, it's not going to be the thing preventing Ridley from getting in.

Actually there is some sense to be made out of it. Sure the games aren't exactly running on the same engines, but general argument tends to center around 3DS Limitations, not game engine limitations. Heck, games already out there prove that performances can differ depending on how the game is designed and not necessarily how strong the 3DS hardware is. Take Pokemon X/Y for example. Has to disallow the 3D effect most of the game outside of a few instances here and there and during 1-on-1 pokemon battles. And even during those battles the framerate can suffer as a result of simple effects such as leaves blowing across the battle. Meanwhile you have Mario Kart 7, a game that came out over a year ago, and can run full 3D environments with multiple characters and items on the screen all at once, with the 3D on, AND 60 FPS. Offline AND Online.

Now as for Monster Hunter 4, the thing about its monsters is that they're not just big texture-covered models. These particular creatures are actually pretty complex as they have their own various unique hitboxes and parameters, much like a fighter in a fighting game has unique hitboxes and parameters.

There is two sculptures of him, one that was going to be in a static pose, and the other one i think, was going to be an action figure ( O___O NINTENDO WHY U CAN'T DO THAT?!), the action figure was pretty big, the artist did the head and was going to start with the body, but i think the last thing he said about it, was that the clay was too old,... and the last thing he did was a Samus action figure (that was awsome.... A LOT better than Other M's figma), the other one, the artist WAS NEARLY AT THE POINT OF FINISHING HIM, i think she only needed to add the wings and painting it, the body was complete, it had a lot of details, but i think she stopped because she wanted to use a more transparent ressin for his wings or something like that.....

About the design, I remeber to have watched an Animation demo reel, by one of the animators that worked on prime 3 and many other games, and there was a part of the video that showed the scene where you encounter Ridley on the leviathan, but it was the Meta form instead of Omega. I think that the Meta form was originaly be the one that showed that caracteristic of the phazon bosses (being blue), and ironicaly, the Omega form shows his metal inplants and part of his organic tissue...but i think there is an explanation behind that, like, when Ridley entered on the leviathan, he absorbed a great amount of phazon, including the one that was his phazon amorskin, and that's why he shows his organic body and implants....

And About the comic, i also tought of that, to tell how the Original Ridley survives Zebes' explosion, and exactly...even if the game showed him blowing up into pieces. it can not be taken too seriously...he could have faked dead and fall into the lava of Lower Norfair in his lair (but as a dragon makes him being invulnerable to it)...waited to Samus to go away, and then he scapes, eating everything he found in his way to heal his wounds, and I think he knew that if MB was defeated, the planet was going to blow up....maybe he was able to fly far enough by himself or using a ship....

Even if it was not a game, i founded it fun to read, specially the part where te pirate says that the metroids should suck the heads of the ones at High Command so that they can make some wise decisions.......

And yes.....Making my life complicated is definitely me....and I know it is not always a bad thing, but sometimes it is frustrating....

And if I recall right, Meta-Ridley near the beginning of Prime 3 was more blue than he had been before as well. Likely due to the fact he had fallen into Tallon IV's impact crater and probably absorbed some of the Phazon there into his system.

Hm, maybe... Alternatively, part of me wouldn't mind this bit near the end of the Super Metroid comics to be an explanation for his survival. Even though he kinda came off as a coward there, it was one of my favorite parts shown that displayed his intelligence (knowing when not to fight). Too bad that's all non-canon though.

I'm sorry to say this, but there are actually Metroid fans out there who genuinely think Ridley is all about being huge. Just go to the Metroid Database and you'll find Too Bigots there as well.

There were even a few people who suggested Adam. I think Adam is probably the only newcomer who would provoke booing rather than cheering.

Nah, I think ZSS will be with Sheik, among the last veterans to be confirmed. She's not a big deal and I don't know of anyone that's foaming at the mouth to see her.

I know a GBA Zero Mission style remake of Metroid II was once planned, but it didn't take off once the DS was announced and came out. A 3DS remake of it? Eh, if only.

You'd be surprised then. Just because ZSS isn't too popular with people like you and I, doesn't mean others wouldn't foam at the sight of her return, and I know plenty in general that would. My only beef about ZSS is with those who say she's the only only other 'rep' Metroid "needs", when she herself wasn't even needed/essential to begin with.

Pretty much what I was gonna say next when first coming here after waking up to the Little Mac (awesome!) announcement. Yeah, if Ridley's not in after seeing this, I won't know what to say or think as far as why he wasn't put in. Little Mac's mostly popular in the West like our dragon, yeah? So you're one of the few hipsters that didn't like gen 6 I take it? It was pretty much what drew me back into the series after the disappointing gen 4 and 'alright' gen 5. See where you're coming from though on being kinda depressed when thinking how many other games you could've played or beaten after the amount of mainstream PKMN titles you end up playing at this point.

Actually, I would worry about Ridley if Rosalina weren't revealed two months ago, because one could think that there would be newcomers only of unrepresented franchises, making Ridley's inclusion unlikely, since we have two versions of Samus in the series already. My point was that worrying about roster size is pointless, if Samurai decided to include Ridley, he will and end of the story.

And for real, the 3DS argument is outdated/holds real little weight now as far as Ridley and such, so I'm not even gonna comment on that...

But dual characters are harder than any singular character. Period. They're going to be way more work for the console than anyone with slightly strange proportions; the toughest thing there would be animations. There's no reason whatsoever to believe the 3DS can't handle Ridley.

When I saw that one the first time, I imagined how it would look like when it was finished....beautifuly painted, and with the big wingspan, with something that gives the efect of the holographic wings, and put inside a box made out of glass.....but, well...it never happened. I think that when i get better at sculpting, I will put the Ridley sculptures in a glass box....and maybe make more, the first ones, leave them without painting and inside the glass boxes, and make molds to make replicas, and be able to use them and pose them however i wanted....yeah.....it is just a dream for now....but someday i may found a way to make it happen.

In a few days, i will be sculpting the Art Toy....

forget it....Is this one better? it was a drawing i wanted to do, with my poor sight, it was hard to make it as acurate as the sprite, and that was the challenge of it....too many pixels hurt my eyes, and it was the FIRST time i have drawn that form of Ridley, and i tried to make the color acurate to the sprite as well, using colored pencils.

Im not trying to be a show off, is just that, when i show my drawings like this one to someone else on Facebook or something, they just like it because it looks nice, and they do not know who the hell the character is, but in here, you all like it because it looks nice and because YOU KNOW IT IS RIDLEY.... and i like that....sorry for what i did before with the drawing of Ezio....i did not know that.....and the other reason is that, some of my friends and family think that i draw him way too much (it is true...SOMETIMES...., but it is for fun) and that i should let him go, but it is not so easy for me to do that.....so....I will not do that for a LONG TIME....I will ALWAYS love Ridley no matter what....I think I feared that you all think that I show too much of my Ridley stuff just like in FB.....how did I forgot that this is the RIDLEY THREAD....So...I have nothing to fear, right?

Little Mac gives me two indications about Ridley.

One is that, his inclusion is in Ridley's favor since the two were both heavy requests outside Japan whose requests outside Japan were notable within Japan.

The other is that....judging by how that old Brawl image of Samus and AT Little Mac was used as reference to Mac's size....
(No, this isn't a "maybe Ridley is too big" statement)
....perhaps Ridley will be just as "big" as he was a boss? And that will be how Sakurai will set him apart from the rest of the cast? Thus justifying why he has to be "a little slow"?

EDIT: Then again, the Other M design wouldn't make him as big, due to the differences in body proportions.

Here's what I think, I think we could see two entirely different Ridleys.

First off remember in Brawl where we had two different Ridleys as bosses, Meta Ridley and Ridley, well I think they both will make a appearance, perhaps Meta Ridley is that stage hazard, and regular Ridley is a playable character.

Another possibility is Kraid is that stage hazard, Kraid would be a returning character from Melee and he fits the same description Ridley does as the stage hazard.

GIFT basically stands for "Greater Internet F-wad Theory". It means that for every average or even mildly unpleasant person who goes on the Internet in the guise of anonymity, they degenerate into complete a-holes. It was posted by Penny Arcade back in 2004.

This idea is better than the one I thought some months ago .... Super Metroid Ridley was a clone created by Ridley himself so now he's still alive


However .... that's my idea for Ridley's trailer
Samus goes again to the Bottle Ship (I know in Metroid other M the Galactic Federation destroied it but SSB isn't canon )
She walks along some rooms from MoM and then she arrives to the Geothermal Power Plant and she starts to look around
She hears a noise behind her ... there are Bowser and King DDD (at this point maybe someone understands that it's not a new Metroid game )
They start to fight but there is another noise behind Samus ... Bowser & King DDD run away but Samus doesn't

After the gameplay Ridley grabs Samus and before he finishes her ,he looks at the camera and roars
Then he shots fire to the camera and that fire becomes the SSB4 logo's fire

Olimar of course, who is supposed to be the smallest of all the characters, countering Ridley, who is supposedly going to be the largest of all characters, shown to be scaled down to a suitable size and finishing the TOO BIG arguments!!

Oh man, Metroid Fusion, the game wich introduced to one of my favorite videogame franchises, the one game with i started to become a Metroid fanboy (no the bad type), so glad Nintendo recognized it as a fan-favorite and decided to launch as one of the first GBA VC games.

It's still less linear than most non-Metroid games, I'd say, and most certainly less linear than Other M.

In that game were born some of my most favourite characters of the series like SA-X and Nightmare
