If it was reasonable hype then maybe it would be more understandable, but we knew about the PAX conference for awhile. It wasn't anything new. Hopefully that second part of the leak comes true and we get those last few characters. But until then, just keep it chilled out in here. We don't want to lock it again.

I understand that those hypes are essential to game like smash brothers, and I think these will be a big let down if Sakurai still excludes Ridley because many of gamers have already lost faith on smash brothers, especially all those Kid Icraus content and Kirby content become arguments that people think Sakurai is bias all along.

I said knowledge of the conference itself was known. Even if it was on whatever, that is still no reason for a lot of the nonsense that went on in here yesterday was just...silly.

It'd be great for Ridley to get revealed, but there is nothing specifically separating him from the rest right now. So we just need to chill.

Not completly sure if you are trying to justify the hype, yesterday, but if you were:
The thing was that yesterday "hype" made a pain to read the rest of the posts (I had to skip some pages) and was what the reason beyond the hype? Literally nothing (there would be more reasons to hype if a user wouldhave found a leaf with a spec pf purple on it.. and thats not much). plus there seems to be a 2000 pages maxium, so if you are filling the rest of the pages with such nonsesne.. then I'm glad that the thread got locked until people calmed down...

Plus, stressing the site (remember is not impossible for this site to crash) just for nothing? if we are going to crash smashboards let it be when Ridley is officially confirmed at least, not before ._.

and i was hearing that andrew from gamexplain was very suspicius about ridley questions. is there a true thing on it?

As someone else posted he mainly gave a "no comment" which ammounts literally nothing, maybe he replied that answer because he likes Ridley too, but there are 4 posible scenarios here:
-He saw Ridley on the 3ds version as a playable character.
-He saw Ridley as a boss on the wiiu version footage if they shown any wii-u version footage or if it was only 3ds footage, He saw Ridley as a boss on smash run on teh 3ds version.
-He saw Ridley on the 3ds version with an unclear role.
-He didn't saw any Ridley footage at the 3ds version at all.

in any of the following scenarios a "no comments" response would make sense, so literally we know nothing about what he saw (or didn't see) the only thing that we can deduce by the fact that he replied instead of saying nothing is becasue he cared by whatever Ridley fates is for whatever reason, or he knew that if he didn't said something he would get flooded with teh same question.

Which literally tells us NOTHING regarding Ridley.

for all we know they could have shown DHD or bowser JR footage, even if we know due to a leak, they may still don'twant to show it to teh public, and we know nothing regarding DHD anyways.

Well, I don't want to come off frank, but I wish that was made clear to WHY the thread was locked the other day. A lot of things that happened yesterday was a bit "over the top", that I can kinda agree on. But the way things were handled feel like it was "out of spite" then "to calm people down". The last time a warning was giving to us, it was implied to be a perma-lock. So locking the thread again, especially how it was locked, sounded as if it was over, period. Maybe it was too much going on at the moment, but I felt like the thread was locked due to personal issues, not to get people to "chill". I'm sorry if I interpret the situation incorrectly, but I think this could been handled better than it did.

As a long-term skeptic, I'm just going to say now that, if the purple prowler is a playable character in the final roster, I will tip my hat to any and all supporters who believed in him all the same. Your unwavering hope and faith is inspiring and - if I'm being honest - altogether bewildering.

'Tis better to err on the side of caution, how and ever. The press conference is undoubtedly going to be huge when it's released, but until then, getting hot under the collar over it is just going to cause chaos and madness.

I lose in online battles, I'm always on the losing team, and all characters except Shulk are those I didn't care for, or didn't even like until they were revealed. Come on man, as long as you believe in Ridley's inclusion, you'll always be a Space Pirate. Despite the doubts and concerns, we'll always support anyone who supports the Captain, and no amount of bad luck will hinder Ridley's inclusion in Smash 4.

Or based on previous actions that came with leaking info about Smash, that may cause people to reconsider doing anything out of line pertaining to Nintendo. Either way, I think no leak information seems very likely if the people intended the PAX closed conference want to keep there jobs.

Actually, it almost certainly will. This thread is already close to 2000 pages, which apparently could cause glitches. It's only going to continue to grow until Ridley's fate is revealed, at which point the thread will inevitably experience a rapid growth. If Ridley was revealed, the thread would likely end up being locked sometime after and replaced with a Ridley social thread, along with all the other threads that go along with a confirmed character.

If Ridley is playable, I'm hoping he'll be more agile than some of the other heavy fighters, like Bowser and DK. Particularly in the air. Since he's all about flying and stuff.

I'm not expecting much out of this PAX event. If anything does show up, it might just be about the recently announced Shulk, going into more detail about his character.

If he's a boss, I'd imagine he'd just grab and toss opponents out of the ring. Or act like he does in Brawl.

I understand where you're coming from, and I totally agree that Metroid needs more representation, but in the smash universe, it's beenade pretty clear now that ZSS and Samus are considered desperate characters (again, only in smash, which isn't canonical)

First of all, Duck Hunt and ROB preclude Metroid, Kid Icarus was released a year later. Those franchises would appear in their respective timelines (1984-1985 and 1986-1987).
And secondly, Nintendo is against doctoring footage or screenshots. Their policy is to show the actual game they way it is and not bullshot it, they didn't edit out Ganondorf after all.


The definitive incarnation of Zero Suit Samus was created in Zero Mission, she will likely be a standalone fighter or be grouped with Olimar maybe?

By your logic about how Zero Suit Samus works, Clone Ridley, the one we'd be playing as due to the tail we saw, won't show up until 2010. It's not the real Ridley, not his normal design, and didn't show up until much later.

I used to be like you, be harsh on myself because of a mistake I made, it never comes out. It just makes you feel even worse. We are ALL anxious for Ridley to be revealed too, but we won't give up til there is a official confirmation or deconfirmation. Perhaps a break from the topic is what you need. Then in two weeks, come back and see if Ridley is confirmed then. I have a feeling you're having a rough time in your life and it's hurting you. So just take a break and come back, hopefully you'll be back with more confidence. And I forgive you for your rant. I said harsh things to people in the past and made them almost hate me, but in the end, they have forgiven me of my evil deeds because they were my close friends. So don't beat yourself up too much and take a break or talk to someone who can help you.

I'm not much of a supporter, but I'd like to see him in simply to please the games fanbase. However, I definitely think he and all the other un-announced newcomers will be kept a secret. We only have two weeks left, and after seeing the starting roster, I'm willing to bet Ridley will be a secret character. The ultimate surprise for the Japanese smashers on the 13th.
