So, I'm noticing ever since this information became aware to us Smash fan in general, a lot of the threads seem to be acting a lot more entitled and universally slamming the game because their specific character was not confirmed, a certain DK characters thread in particular seems to be guilty of this. Because, you know, one character not being in suddenly makes the game a waste of time and not worthy of holding the same name, as well as Sakurai needed to never be allowed to work on it again.
My point being, I'm glad this thread was never guity of that kind of reaction, and I'm glad I can continue to support Ridley, without having to feel ashamed to be grouped with you. :D
Well to be fair K. Rool's chances are next to zero right now and a lot of us are pissed off when we see one of our favorite characters being so unlikely. It's going to happen when a group the size of K. Rool's takes such a hit, angry reactions and such. I've been very pessimistic and expressing my disappointment, but I will say one thing, Sakurai is the man to make Smash and I don't doubt that in the least bit, it's just irritating to have hype built up for no payoff even if it was some straw grasping in the first place. It's not just one character either, a lot of people had a lot of desired characters and maybe one or two made it in, so to them it doesn't really feel worth it, especially when they've been trying to be hyped about a new Smash game since its announcement, and after all that waiting, all they have is disappointment instead. But you know it would be very interesting to see another person take over Smash just to see what it's like.
Me, I'm coming to terms with the line-up if the leak is the done deal sort of thing with nothing else to add. It's not even close to what I've wanted, but almost all of the characters shown off are still ones I want to try out and enjoy playing with. Even if it looks like they butchered Shulk incredibly badly. I mean come on, his move set in the footage looked horrendous for someone could have so much more potential and uniqueness but nope he looks like Marth and Link had a child named Shulk, that one stings more than deconfirmations as does the lack of decloning Ganondorf (But if he's buffed up some from Brawl, OK I guess). That said even with my disappointment, I don't think we should be so quick to negativity, but to be honest I was pissed when I first saw footage and had to get it out, it's a thing that'll settle over time I imagine for many people (And some it never will to be fair).
Now the question stands, are the additional 3 true, and are they going to be Dixie, Mewtwo, and Ridley? I really hope so because those are some of my top characters to see in this game, and it would help restore my hype greatly after the hit it has taken recently. Dixie and Mewtwo seem sure according to some people, but Ridley is up in the air as ever and we still don't know anything in the end. What do we know about Ridley as far as it pertains to the leak besides him being mentioned before hand with all of these characters within the leak? (I just wanna know how much I should be expecting Ridley wise at this point, I'll take a deconfirmation if it just ends this pointless agony of waiting)
