I didn't want to talk about the leak but, damn, it is important if we are talking about Ridley's chances now.

So let's consider this: Someone did say that the leaked roster isn't complete yet, here:

Now think about it: would they really leave those free space for the dlc characters? No, because not everyone is going to buy the dlc (I'm probably not), and there is no need to put emptey spaces for them. So, that means that there is still room for new characters (with dlc added latter). And considering the amount of teasing and all, Ridley is definitely in one of those free spaces. thats my thought.

Hell, the only leaks that should EVER be handled as if they might be the real thing are the ones that come within a week or so of the street date. Also, if you've seen the Imgur album, then you've probably seen a lot of shots of beautiful curves parts of women. It's ESBR, they are specifically supposed to rate that stuff. Ridley sadly lacks these parts. Why Shulk and Dark Pit and everyone else is included, I don't know.

I am really starting to think this is all a trap. If this guy way back when you whip up that Palutena leak, imagine what could be achieved given the time, Brawl hacks and enough of an inclination.

It seems pretty much unthinkable, but we've not seen renders for a few of these mentioned characters (notably Ridley), and the only ones we've seen in game are Bowser Jr, Lucina and Shulk. If this guy has the talent to make that Palutena render, given the chance for the whole "long game" on such a leak it's entirely feasible that he could have put together a working Bowser Jr, a polished Lucina and Shulk and been "leaking" similar leaks for a while to get a story out there to "confirm" with information he's started spreading around.

Throw in the obvious attempts at trolling with the whole DLC thing, the "errors on purpose" that have apparently been done if some are to be believed, and the Palutena render and it seems highly suspicious. Why would someone who would have access to Nintendo's ESRB video (if that's what was sent) be so damn talented as to be able to make the Palutena render.

I don't know, maybe they're seperate people and this has all been mixed up, but if they are that ridiculously talented and keen on messing with people, it's not beyond the realms of possibility here.

I think we should keep Ridley's fireworks display safely away in the cupboard until we've got some more information still. It seems too much to be faked, but we don't want Ridley's "confirmation" (the weakest of all these leaks to be honest) to go the way of Chrom's.

Whilst I don't really mind who's on the roster, this is now just heating up in such a manner. Ignoring the leaks Ridley is almost certainly in, and with the leaks it seems to be going the same way. I just can't shake that feeling that a troll who tends to release huge caches of leaked images and video at once, has potentially previously made a fake Palutena render and has potentially admitted to doing things to screw with us (the DLC) is not to be entirely trusted, even with this dump of information.

Oh well, as you say though, in terms of Ridley he looks pretty soild either way.

If I were you, I'd try to calm myself down and maybe try to stay away from Smashboards and the subreddit for a while if you don't want to hear more about the leaks. Despite the leak, very little is still known about the game in terms of depth. Ganondorf's moveset might still be a Falcon clone, but he may also be closer to his more potent Melee incarnation. Ridley may still be in it. Hell, a whole lot of other characters still have a chance. This is not worth beating yourself up over, and ending your life is one of the worst options available.

In other words: don't give up. The best case scenario rarely ever comes along, you know. Even if your most wanted thing has been relentlessly teased only to be shown to not be in the game, move along. Buy the game, or don't out of spite. But whatever you do, don't ever give up.

The ESRB leak video is real, are you really suggesting than all that models from the trophy pics, shulk and bowser jr animations and the recreation of the stages where they fight are made by one person? to me this VERY unlikely.

The thing is that the original leaker (or leakers) could have watched the video and thanks to that know shulk and bowser jr details, and added the other fighters that haven't been shown (if they were on the video we probably would already seen something of them) if they added them from legit sources, or to troll, or as educated guesses, thats everyone guess.

I agree with this. while we are certainly in better shape than almost any other uncorfirmed character, we don't have undeniable proof yet.
