It might be referring to the last direct in the reversed date scheme, but that direct was on the 8th.

Are you sure it wasn't 8.4.2014? That was the date of the Hyrule Warriors Direct at the beginning of the month. It could have also been a typo.

As you can tell, it's referencing the date that the April Smash Direct was broadcast in Europe, which was the 9th. This is also consistent with how they arrange their dates, putting the day first, then the month.

Yeah, even if you check it by narrowing the search to only pages from the past month, you get nothing with that specific date in the title.

Checking through the modified search more closely also yields many European links that do contain that specific date, though most likely in reference to the April Direct, once again due to the fact that many European countries order dates.

Actually we don't know if it's only 2, Sakurai just said that we're reaching the bottom of the stash. It could very well be 3 or 4. Also, aren't there supposed to be trailers for EVERY newcomer? Including unlockable ones? I don't remember if that's true.
