Hey, Robin, Lucina, Rosalina, Palutena, Wii Fit Trainer, and Villager were all great choices for this game.

But seriously, change that to "anime characters and/or Sonic characters" and that's pretty accurate.

Obviously Anthony is the biggest threat in that situation if you didn't saw what Samus can do. He is the biggest and bulkiest of the group and has a giant gun. But Ridley waited for Samus to arrive instead of joining those creatures and enjoying that.

Ridley is obviously not a dragon. He just looks like something between a dragon and a pterosaurus and that something didn't ate anything for at least 1 year.

He is still intelligent enough to at least be unique compared to other bosses and enemies. I already made a post that explains why Roidley is not just a mindless beast.
And if he would be just an animal, then he would never trick those scientists into entering his cage so he could kill them and escape. He could have remained in that cage since they were feeding him and he was just kinda like a pet.

OR he just can change color like an chameleon, but a lot better (he can turn invisible). Like chameleons in fiction. He turns dark-grey in Other M when his skin becomes invincible to Plasma Beam. Also, in ZM, Ridley wasn't black. I don't know how this color is called, but it isn't black.

  1. He died on Zebes and there was absolutely NO SPACE PIRATES on SR-388.
  2. It is officialy confirmed or at least it is canonical, i don't remember, that Ridley is dead. And his clone. And that clone's X-parasite mimic. It doesn't means he will never return because there is still Space Pirates somewhere and they (and maybe Galactic Federation) would most likely store Ridley's DNA (and Kraid's since he somehow returned in SM after Samus killed him in ZM) just in case something like that happens. Or, you know, Metroid will not get Fusion sequel and will, just like LoZ, get only prequels, sequels of prequels, prequels or prequels, etc. Then we could get explanation why exactly Ridley is suddenly organic in SM.
Ridley survived events of Super Metroid only in that non-canonical SM comic. He escaped Zebes before even encountering Samus for 2nd time.

I noticed something about Galactic Federation - there is no other specieses shown except for humans and maybe Chozo and Luminoth. At least in the games. That is weird since there is supposed to be a lot of them...

Yes, the clone of Ridley is intelligent, but he has no goal besides the killing and eating of anyone on the ship. He is still just a monster.

Didn't he primarily focus on Samus instead of just 'monstering' after anyone else? I can understand it as Birdley, but even then he was already shown to be way more intelligent than any other creature barring humans. He avoided direct confrontation with Samus because he was a weak furball.
And even then, it wouldn't be surprising to me at all if he could somehow have inherited his intelligence through his DNA. No, it doesn't make a lick of sense, but neither do Samus turning into a small sphere and a 2+ meter long reptile emerging from a knee-height small furry owl.

Lack luster 3 was? Prime 3 got critical acclaim and was a commercial success, and its story and voice acting were highly praised.

Also the hunters do all have backstories but it doesn't expand beyond that but it has the potential too, it is currently rumored that Sylux's ship was seen at the end of prime 3. Ship is a little different but it is his style and he has reasons for wanting to go after her.

And they are planning on contiuing the side scrolling metroid games as well as the prime style metroid games. The metroid prime games sell extremely well and were all commerical successes and metroid prime was considered to be one of the greatest games ever made.

It really feels like you're a hardcore fan of the old school, correct me if I'm wrong.

P.S Also I would have liked prime 3 if the gameplay and reverse character development wasn't so ****.

I already discussed this in great detail in previous posts on this same page, but "little birdie" has been observing samus throughout its short life and even lured her to a hive of monsters so she would kill them and he could eat their honey. He knew after this long time she was the greatest threat to him.

It'd probably be a level of confusion like what came from Little Mac with some people knowing who he is and some people thinking he's an original character or something.

Because Ridley has a much stronger following in the West than in the East.

Mewtwo and K. Rool dominate the fandom over there as far as I know.

Well I mean I'd assume more people would know Ridley than Little Mac, but still it'd probably just be confused people a little bit.

I'm curious now though if Ridley hate is a thing in Japan or if it's a US/Europe sewer troll thing.

The Ridley hate is more likely just the latter. Japanese fans are overall indifferent to newcomer speculation at this point.

I wonder if it's like a reverse Mother situation. Metroid has a huge following of fans in the west, while it's has more of a cult following in the east. Meaning like some people over here were ecstatic about Lucas' inclusion to brawl, some people over there will be ecstatic over Ridley in Smash for Wii U/3DS
