Looks like it's Charizard (but the flame isn't there), I really doubt that Ridley would have a similar stance.

Ok, I guess it might be Charizard then, guess I was a little off about visualising where exactly the flame would be in regards to the cut off.
Ok folks time to get back on topic, with things such as Ridley ships, not drinking the water and so on and so forth.

Actually, I looked closely and notice some pixels that fit the place of Char's flame. So I think its nothing but Charizard. But really, I doubt Sakurai would

Are you still analysing that image with that LoZ Knight Thing unlocked as a trophy? If yes...They are TROPHIES. So, there IS Ridley's trophy. And Waluigi's too. They are not playable characters only.

You SERIOUSLY think 4chan is a reliable source on ANYTHING? Remember the fact that everyone there with an opinion on Ridley is pretty much LALALA TOO BIG! Anyway, those wings look a bit too...what's the word? Thin for Charizard's official artwork to me
Quite a good point actually, Because I have 400 something in Brawl, the only trophies I know of that are of playable characters without them being playable at that point are ROBs and Luigi with the poltergust I believe

Who said that? Why there is that knight thing then? It could be anything, not just playable characters.Only playable characters have trophies in the background.
Perhaps you should analyse it a bit more.

I should have said that in a different way then...Why there should be ONLY playable characters in the background if this is a background for something related to trophies of anything?

I mean, every thing in the background is the silhouette of a playable character. If it was just random trophies, there would be no need to only have them in the background.
Besides, perhaps this isn't just a trophy gallery background but a background for the vault in general.

What if this is just all we see and this background actually moves? And in vault there is even more things possible...
Anyway, we shouldn't really consider it to be a sign of everything. Remember when we were trying to see Ridley in that random select icon on that journal or whatever it was? And trying to see exactly Ridley's wings (which, by the way, are not unique in any way) is very unlikely since there is a lot of characters with wings who could be playable. It is kinda like trying to see something in clouds in trailers and images. Or believing that we will get boss Roidley and playable classic Ridley. Pac Man cloud doesn't counts because it was most likely (99%) unintentional.

Actually, Trophies are in categories, playable Characters, items, enemies, etc. Why would a random non playable trophy appear in between them? I understand we are all grasping straws with this, but it is suspicious

Even if part if Ridley was in the background saying that he's in based off that picture, it's just grasping at straw imo. I know we haven't had any breadcrumbs of information about Ridley or even the pyrosphere in ages, but we need to be a bit more rational when it comes to possible hints.

Then either background does not belongs to that category or those trophies. There is playable characters seen in the background, but in the foreground there is only NPCs.

I was because we are talking about how every character sillouette was of a playable character in the background, and seeing as how trophies aren't scrambled into some clusterfrick, that sillouette is of a playable character. I am convinced that shadow isn't Charizard though, the wings are slightly off in my eyes, but hey, I'm just someone who hasn't played Melee so my arguments aren't valid unless it sm4sh vs Brawl. If you fail to understand me again, no biggie! I tend to cause confusion a lot

Now i understand it. Still, i don't believe this is the entire background and that it doesn't moves. Maybe there is more sillouettes, but we don't see them. Anyway, it is not worth looking too deeply into this image. If it would be something like a Pyrophere screenshot with Ridley's head more-or-less visible and being too small for a boss, then it would be more than worth looking at.

Still, it must've hit really damn hard. I mean, you are rooting for your favourite character, no information is released about him, all of your evidence is barebones at best (cloud formations, music), and bam. It's a boss.

I think that Brawl was over hyping caused by the fans, as all Ridley had going for him then is that his theme was confirmed to appear in game

To be honest, the war between the Geno and Ridley thread was so heated that I think both were equally crushed by the fact that there was no winner to the "war" as they were that Ridley didn't make it into the game.

Yes, but that didn't stop Geno from being one of the top requested Brawl newcomers. He was one of the most requested ones on Sakurai's Brawl poll before the game and the addition of Sonic opened the door to the potential of 3rd party characters. Back Pre Brawl there was a great deal of animosity twixt Ridley and Geno Supporters, though I never really knew why. I always supported both.

Yeah. I can understand that people like him, I mean, he has finger guns, arm guns, turns into a cannon gun thing, hes pretty damn cool. But I feel bad for them, because despite Geno's popularity (which would normally ensure at least an assist trophy or sticker) he is doomed to never being able to enter the game because We Can't Have Nice Things-Enix. It's worse than what Ridley had to face, because Ridley had an actual chance to get in. Geno, being mercilessly locked away in Squeenix's
But I'm tangentiating. It's weird that there was such a strong rivalry, I wonder how that hatred came into existence, and why.

Yes, he likes to make a game as good as he can get, but how will he trump that one in the next Smash? He's gonna want to make a game better than the one he's making right now.

Well, he could add other characters that were not added before like Takamaru, Dillon, etc. Without adding things like Shadow, Goku, Raiden, Zero, X, Tails, X, etc. of course. Also, he could add new game modes, new alt costumes.

Geno had only 1 game and then disappeared. Worse than Daisy since he didn't even appeared in spin-off games. Looks like it didn't stopped them. I don't understand why someone think he has a higher chance than Daisy, Waluigi, any of the Koopalings, etc. But i won't...um...bash...be rude to them. Or at least don't want to be such.
