You all are doing better with this game than I am xD. Still looking for a lot of rares. .-. Swelterrier took around 10 hours, 50+ food, and 5 pupsicles to get so that took a lot of my time. >_<

However, leveling was not a problem for me as I have 6 level 99's. Have grinded a little bit and I'm grinding terror time at the moment.

Komashura (Technique - Fire)
Casanuva (Technique - Wind) [Popularity]
Elderbloom (Healer)
Cruncha (Attack) [Intimidation]
Shogunyan (Attack)
Bloominoko (Ally Inspirit)

I'm wondering if I should swap any of these out for superior options or if I should go for a different team comp in general.

I think your suggestion pretty much covers everything well. IMO
You may wanna switch out Casanuva for Dandoodle.

I was thinking that too, but from my understanding he's another healer, and I don't know if I want two healers + bloominoko soultimate. Do you think it would still be worth replacing Casanuva's damage with Dandoodle's healing?

Gave up on Agon for the time being after 5 fails with triple popularity and candy apples.

Got a BUNCH of other yokai all around.
Including Casty-Max and thus the Heartful Legendary.

I wonder, did Yo-Kai Watch 3 legitimately get rid of Katie for an OC? If so, why? I mean I felt her to be the best character.

I don't think Katie is going to be gone anytime soon. It would break canon for players who chose to play as her since the beginning of the series.

Yeah, the new character is probably an alternative option for people that want a new experience. I don't see Katie leaving soon.

I've done it.
Down to 3 Yokai that aren't either a) a rare encounter b) have a unique condition to meet {and only two fit this condition} c) are part of the 4 "secret bosses d) crank-a-kai exclusives or e) bosses themselves.

Two are in Infinite Inferno.
One is that C ranked birdbrain found under cars and vending machines up in Breezy Hills. Whatever one of the _lloo bros that is.

....But that's still only 76%.

In my new game I've been trying to capture Snartle.

I'm before even the upgraded yokai watch, but I learned he scales with what chapter your on...So, I'm actually having an easier time trying to capture him in this game.

I'm wondering if I should let by cicada guy evolve, since his attack and etc. goes back to level 1. Also, his special attack no longer deals damage

If he wasn't the best source of items/ EXP/ money at this point in the game I'd be more frustrated I can't befriend him

I'm pretty sure his favorite food isn't available this early so it's tougher

My will is starting to break, considering the only 2 Yokai left by "normal" means are in Infinite Inferno (Greesel, Mama Aura)
2 require special conditions to recruit (Almi, Pandanoko)
9 are exclusive to Crank-a-kai luck (The 1 for each tribe, and the 5th seal)
I've not won against 4 proper bosses yet. (C8 & the 3 onis)
2 of the super yokai I've yet to recruit. (Corptain, Awevil)
1 requires an item that I have no means to reach yet (Gleam)
1 evolution (Rhinormous)
3 I'm not sure if rare or not (Daiz, Confuz, Neighfarious)
E-v-e-r-y-o-n-e else is a rare yokai which I'll have to dedicate like a full day to farming.
Which by my count is 24 that are assuredly Rare.
2 of those 24 are a rare encounter off of Yokai spots.

Edit: personal math here.
78% gained, 22% remaining.
It takes ABOUT 2 yokai for each percentage.
So around 44 yokai.
24 that are assuredly rare, 20 remaining.
9 for crank-a-kai, 11.
2 that are normal to get, 9 remaining.
4 bosses, 5 remaining.
2 specials, 3 remaining.
3 unknown, "0" remaining.
-2 for the super yokai
-2 for the two kinds of evolutions.
So 48 total yokai remaining.

Rare Yokai can really be hit or miss. Some are way easier to farm than others (the ones in the school are super easy to obtain as an example, while Agon from the mines is way more difficult to get).

Crank-a-kai exclusives are definitely the most obnoxious to obtain aside from Jewel-nyans (event yokai) and Pandanoko, though.
