I'm convinced the Sal leak is incomplete. Why?

Because there are 3 months remaining until release, and I can't fathom Sakurai not revealing one more hype-inducing Newcomer very close to release: a reveal of a character at least as exciting and wanted by fans as any of the 3 revealed at E3 2014.

No newcomer will match Mewtwo in terms of hype level though.

Iwata: "We have one more announcement for a game coming out later this year. Please, take a look."

Mewtwo kills the other 47 characters in the roster the course of the trailer.

By this logic, he was aware of GameFreak and their plans to hype the **** out of Mewtwo, so there's just as much reason to bring Mewtwo back.

Depends on how much info was shared between the two. If all Sakurai wanted was info on Gen VI mons then that's all Gamefreak would offer.

On the subject of Chrom, I will remind you all that Awakening was not only the first Fire Emblem to break 1 million sales, it is also the game that saved the franchise from extinction. If any Fire Emblem game deserves recognition for its achievements it's Awakening. While I have no idea if it will be Chrom representing or not (though the leak says it is), someone from Awakening is getting in and people will be hyped over it. 1 million sales on a niche title is pretty damned impressive. A lot of people are more aware of Fire Emblem now than 6 years ago.

That is, if those people are fans of Mewtwo to begin with. Only fans of Mewtwo will care while others who don't care about Pokemon, but like a different series won't care nearly as much.

Mewtwo has fans internationally but that does not mean he will be liked world wide.

People's reactions to Mewtwo would be "he never should have been cut" rather than "I can't believe he got in!".

They would be happy that Mewtwo is back in the game, but would more likely talk about how he never should have been cut in the first place, saying stuff like "now lets keep it this way".

This works for every character.

DK fans will be the only ones caring if K. Rool or Dixie gets in.
Metroid fans will be the only ones caring if Ridley gets in.

A lot of the people who don't like this leak dislike it because the characters in it don't get them hyped. They don't some/all of the series in it so it doesn't make them care about the characters.

I think Marth and Ike are enough. I wouldn't personally pick Chrom (or Shulk for that matter) but I suppose there's enough characters already confirmed that appeal to me, so I don't care if they end up "taking up space".

I've said it before, I'll say it again, the fact that the only real argument people have been able to make against this leak is that
"It could have been a lucky guess." just shows how dam likely to be true it is. The guy is 8/11 here and the last three are looking more likely every day. Honestly the only reason this wasn't accepted to be real by everyone a long time ago was that people simply didn't like the roster. (No mewtwo, no K rool, no ridely). They were fighting it more out of desperation than reasonable logic, to the point where even if all the characters are confirmed I bet they will still say it was just a lucky guess XD

Although I do believe this leak, I think it's weird that the leaker has not commented on roster size. When Brawl was leaked, that was the first thing the leakers brought up.

No, that was never the main argument. There were plenty of good and valid complaints about some of the info provided, and there still are. Despite the inconsistencies, though, yeah, it is accurate.

There are three main inconsistencies I've been seeing that I honestly don't see that much of an issue.
Rosalina shows that if he really does have info, he doesn't have all of it, and there are plenty of other things he never predicted which could be in.
Him getting the reveal date wrong isn't that huge of deal imo
and then there the whole not specifying WHICH pokemon from X and Y. After sakurai saying they did have a spot reserved for a new pokemon even before X and Y was announced, this could easily just be explained with the fact that the guy had early info. I'm pretty sure this guy isn't stupid and figured that a new pokemon means one from X and Y after it was announced.

No one is really saying it was just all "lucky". The concern now is the extent of the leaker's knowledge (did the leaker have full access to the roster and this is it, is the leaker intentionally withholding information, or did he just managed to get a few tidbits), how dated the leaker's knowledge is (why did only half of the characters in the first leak actually show up at E3 2013 when all were supposed to, why couldn't he named Greninja when Greninja was probably decided on by about a year by the time he released the second leak, why did he just now tell us about the Ness vs. Lucas debate with a non-definitive answer when the roster has been finalised long ago), and if the leaker's second and third leaks are fully true (there is the possibility that the first leak was legitimate, but he made up the rest to string us along, though I personally think it's unlikely that's the case).

This is it exactly. We know he has info. How much info does he actually have? Are their inconsistencies?


I can't think of anyone trying use the "argument" that he made lucky guesses. The arguments are completely different from that, and prior to leak three, guessing a few common choices was a valid POSSIBILITY for getting some of the info right.

Even then, that doesn't mean any of his other info was updated. Chrom, Shulk, and Chorus Men aren't guaranteed until they are announced. Chrom or Chorus Men could've been changed since he first got the info, like if they couldn't get something to work, or hell, his info didn't state the name of the character and he assumed it was Chrom.

Expect those three for sure, but since the info is outdated, something could've changed. (It also doesn't mean he had all the info, either, so keep that in mind.)

Yeah, the press page was up before the direct as far as I know, so the leaker could have gotten the info from another friend of his who was maybe part of the Nintendo Treehouse.

I'm gonna say that I really hate this leak because, honestly, all of these characters are obvious inclusions (except Wii Fit Trainer). This guy never even predicted Rosalina.

Due to the fact that almost all the characters from this "leak" have been revealed, people are expecting Shulk's, Chrom's and the Chrous Kids' trailers and won't even be surprised once they see them.

Idk, that's just my opinion. The characters themselves I like (Shulk! Kreygasm), though
