Mostly as an excuse to show off my new setup.
Yeah, my old one was a 52inch 1080p hd tv that served as my monitor for my Dual 9800 gtx super computer and all 3 consoles.Your new setup?
See guys? This is the talk of a person who has money.Yeah, my old one was a 52inch 1080p hd tv that served as my monitor for my Dual 9800 gtx super computer and all 3 consoles.
My new setup is a 60 inch 1080p hd tv that serves as my monitor for my dual Radeaon 5870 sapphires super duper computer and all 3 consoles.
It's pretty sweet.
My old hd tv was quite lucrative as it was one of the rare few that did not lag. I havn't a clue if this one does(for smash that is) however.
I play brawl because it's fun. Not because it's competitive. Infact the "competitive" scene is what drove me away. People take their **** too seriously. I'm all about improving one's game but not at the cost of decency, respect, and honor. Ask snap how many times I yelled at him when he lost his cool during a match.Too bad he doesn't know what a good game is. Playing Brawl and hating on one of the best competitive games ever made - lol. I guess we'll just have to "agree to disagree" champ cause I know we're both way too stubborn to attempt some kind of debate.
Or you just don't understand a scene or don't like it (competitive?) and expect your opinion to flat out be the right one. You talk like you're telling us the truth about the world when actually it is just what you believe, and instead of just posting and saying, "well I'm not down with the new Starcraft, I'll just stick to 1" you try to explain how it sucks and how I'm "up Blizzard's ***" lol which by the way, the only games I've ever had from Blizzard were Warcraft II and Starcraft 1 + Brood War, if that is "up their ***" then I don't want to know what you think of WoW and Diablo addicts.
You thinking Starcraft 2 is just Starcraft 1 remade is a sign to me. You don't get it, so there is no point talking about it, cause I sure as hell am not intelligent enough to explain it. You know what I work on just about every day? a "facelift remake" of Melee, with my own characters I made up in case I get a chance to actually make the game and Nintendo can't sue. I seriously want, another Melee. It's fine to mock me for this, sure it's stupid, but it's my ****ing passion so I write movelists. over 90 completed as we speak. Why? because I love my stories which the characters are derived from, and I love Melee, and Brawl is totally different.
and I seriously want another Starcraft, because the old units have gotten pretty stale to me. So now I have Banelings and Brood Lords and War Prisms and Immortals and Banshees and Vikings and yaddayaddayadda it's ****ing GREAT to me, and to many others. Feel free to insult us as you please.
It's just human nature. For most people winning = fun, losing is simply a counterbalance to winning that serves to make the wins more enjoyable when they happen or causes people to rage, and to that end they will take the shortest and easiest route. Few people want to put any effort (read: work) into they games they play be it fighting, rts, or otherwise. Fewer still care about practicing and learning new things to improve their game just for the sake of learning to be a good player. I'm not saying I disagree with your assessment Lareit, quite the opposite, I largely agree. It's just that I spent a lot of time using the same sort of argument on forums and found that some people agree either in whole or in part, and everyone else just thinks you're an elitist snob so you really just end up beating your head against a wall. I don't mean to offend, I am just trying to offer some advice from my own experiences.I understand the scene fine. I'm simply disappointed that in the vast majority of independant competitive gaming circles there isn't a higher order of self regulation to encourage fun and competition. Instead the only focus seems around winning. Instead of looking at how to best take the tools given us and develop it into as equal a playing field to encourage diversity and geuine competition everyone seems hell bent on turning it into a lopsided foray of cheap, boring gayfest.
melee is both brilliant and terriblemelee is a good game
Use Peach =DOlimar gives me so much trouble.
Kidd's pretty much right about that.
