Gg @ Z25 Z25 . Accidentally placed three pokemon that first time because i forgot that going down on the left side doesn't go to the top.. though ninetales isn't in any of the kalos dexes (don't really care that it was used tbh but just saying). My team is still a work in progress but it's getting better. Zoom lens Hydro pump in the rain ftw

Is a mega Kangaskhan getting a critical hit on the first hit the same as regular damage from both hits? I just wanted to know because of this battle XKUG-WWWW-WWW6-TNUZ on turn 7

@ BaPr BaPr : From what I understand, Parental Bond enables single target attacks to hit twice, but the second attack will be half as strong as the first. Therefore, if Mega Kangaskhan uses Sucker Punch, the two attacks combined will give you a 120 base power Sucker Punch if no critical hits occur.

And that is smogen bans them. Malmar is actually great for beating them up, you could also use Durant to change parental bond to truant.

Okay, so it would do around the same amount of damage. I wasn't sure how much baby kang did.

Mega Blaziken is also a good counter from my experience. That's if he wasn't also banned.

Actually, the critical hit multiplier is x1.5 in the 6th generation, so if the second hit scores a critical hit, it'll still deal less damage than the first hit.

True, lucario could also. If they sucker punch you and you have justified and go mega it's all over.

I was comparing Mega Kang with both hits vs Mega Kang first hit only with critical hit.

Kangaskhan would just use Earthquake on Lucario and KO it instead of Sucker Punch it. Switching Lucario in on a Sucker Punch means Sucker Punch would fail...

Last I've checked, Earthquake does not get the Parental Bond treatment in a double battle or triple battle, so a Kangaskhan Earthquake wouldn't be able to 1-hit KO Lucario without critical hits in those battle formats anyway.

I believe parental bond works with EQ if all Pokemon get hit by it (no protect, levitate, or flying types), and if no Pokemon get KO'd after the first hit. I am not 100% sure about this, but if someone could help test this out, that would be nice.

Lucario would be faster though and insta kill it.

@ Z25 Z25 did you want a specific nature and/or ability for Snorlax?
No, thanks, natures or abilities don't matter, I have both of their abilities being passed down at the moment.

Actually, Mega Kangaskhan outspeeds Lucario. Therefore, Lucario would have to mega evolve to outspeed it without any stat-changing moves or items.
Hm, I never knew that, any mega kangas I have faced have been quite slow. I don't use lucario but my mega lucario has like 140 as it's speed I believe, I haven't used him in a while though.(that's at level 50)

@ Z25 Z25 : Mega Kangaskhan's base speed is 100 (best possible speed value at level 50 is 167 with a +Speed nature), while Mega Lucario's base speed is 112 (best possible speed value at level 50 is 180 with a +Speed nature).

I was looking for some egg move charmanders from pre gen 6 games. More specifically a thunder punch move tutor charmander. If anyone has one I would love you forever, just leave and offer or something.

Ah ok, well I have other ways to deal with them if I encounter them. Like mega mancetric, at 50 in mega, mine has 200 speed and 200 special attack. He deals so much damage to people.

Inner focus lucario with lucarionite seems like a good counter.

That seems too situational to me. The only case scenarios would be Lucario entering the field at the same time as khan or you didn't mega evolve for a few turns leaving it potentially vulnerable without adaptability..

I was using my physical Lucario I had last game (forgot to transfer it). It had Protect nd Close combat which are the only two important moves in this situation.
You send out Lucario and opponent sends out Kangaskhan. Kangaskhan mega evolves and uses Fake out. Lucario doesn't flinch due to Inner Focus and OHKO's Mega Kang with Close combat. Or, you can both Mega and protect turn 1 in case of Fake out and OHKO it with CC turn 2.

Now, let's say that Mega Kang is already out and you send in Lucario. You mega evolve and protect to be faster and OHKO it turn 2. Even at +4, it can't OHKO with Sucker punch unless crit, stealth rocks, or spikes are out
+4 252+ Atk Parental Bond Mega Kangaskhan Sucker Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Lucario: 232-274 (82.2 - 97.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+4 252+ Atk Parental Bond Mega Kangaskhan Sucker Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Lucario: 232-274 (82.2 - 97.1%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
+4 252+ Atk Parental Bond Mega Kangaskhan Sucker Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Lucario: 232-274 (82.2 - 97.1%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO after 2 layers of Spikes
You need 2 layers and stealth rock, or 3 layers to guarantee a OHKO

Now, if Mega Lucario is out and Kang/Mega Kang switches in, you can protect and OHKO it.
This is of course if both Pokemon are in full health and there aren't any statuses on either Pokemon.

I wasn't sure what move set you were using so i went with one of the most common physical ones. A protect set is the perhaps the only way (m) lucario will win most of the time. Without it it'll come out short in most of the scenarios i thought of.
Edit while breeding for a snorlax i got a shiny on the first egg.....

Nice, were you trying for one or was it just random? I got a shiny Bulletproof Chespin once when breeding for nature.

I'm also on a 35 win streak in super double battles. This might not seem like much, but the farthest I ever got before this was 28.

This was a strange battle in the Battle Maison that I had CWGG-WWWW-WWW6-V3PA

It was just random trying to get a good iv snorlax for zoroark. It has a good nature as well (careful). With 31 atk and max sp def potential and another stat..

@Respectre I haven't seen you in a while. I wanted to try out my new VGC team against you, but I sadly haven't seen you in a long time.

I was just looking on the Pokemon GL website and I found out you can view the top Pokemon and your friends scores. I'm surprised that Garchomp is more used than Mega Kangaskhan.

Mega Kangaskhan. Only 7.2% of Garchomps are Mega Garchomp and ALmost 100% of Kangaskhans are megas.
The top three used Pokemon in order are Garchomp, Kangaskhan, and Talonflame. I would say the rest of the 12 top Pokemon, but the list keeps changing.

@ BaPr BaPr if you still want someone to test your vgc doubles team my vgc singles team does have some doubles potential. Unfortunately though i won't be online until tomorrow (maybe tonight). Also getting a bit tired of quick guard on meowstic. It's too perfect of a counter for fake out..

It's for the spring friendlies it's essentially the same rules as vgc but for singles so I've been calling it vgc singles. it's what i call it since there is only one difference that being format.. Lol just noticed how redundant i typed this

@ Fluttershy Fluttershy You already went against it. It's the same team I had when I went against you. I wanted to battle Respectre because I haven't won once against him yet.

I don't remember, all I remember was that you switched between Charizard Y to Charizard X between battles and Mienshao was one of the Pokemon.

Ah, okay. My friend let me borrow KI:U, so I won't really be playing much of Pokemon till I'm done with this game anyways. When I finish, I'll be sure to battle you.
