the icon theory is really a load'o bull and has more holes in it than swiss cheese.
icons, say what you will, are just numbers. some of them happen to go in alphabetical order, but who cares? sakurai can break the pattern when he wants to. in fact, he already has. the icons aren't making this game, sakurai is. I'll tell you what this icon theory really is:

The icon theory may work in the sense that we can asume there will be that many franchises but the alphabetical thing is unlikely

There's no TRUE order to the icons. The only thing we can deduce from the order right now is that G&W will have at least some representation. Anything else is totally up in the air because we don't know squat about it.

Well answer this....why not put the icons in order then.

1-11 being SSB. 12 should be FE, 13 should be IC, 14 should be Game and Watch...but it's not. Why is that?

There IS some sort of specific order to this, but we don't know what yet.

15 is AC, and 16 is Wario and 17 is MGS and 18 is Pit. So why not make Sonic 19? Instead he is 20.

Again I feel there is a specific order. We just don't know what.

There is some logical reasoning behind the order of each world icon.

What we DON'T know, is what that order exactly is.

Listen, other than grouping the icons in the order they appeared in Smash games (SSB64 first, then Melee, and now the new ones) there is no order. I think they just put the icons in the order they added the character to the game.

another problem with the icon theory is the fact that they are assuming all of the icons came after the roster list was completed. I can see them adding last minute characters without changing the "order" of the icons because to them the order is insignificant....

anyway, mega man for brawl.

Not really, the order is in japanesa alphabetized, the ones from 64 are from A to Z, melee ones as well A to Z, and Brawl ones as well, rockman, starting with R can fit in number 20...

I dont think so. Why would a capcom show that game yesterday before the countdown runs out? They do have more than 1 announcement (mh3), it's probably something bigger than they have mentioned before.
