But he's bringing a good point here. MUGEN clearly shows that a line has to be drawn somewhere when talking about character roster.

i hope you were joking. Face it man, whether you like it or not, there WILL BE third party characters in brawl, and Sonic has the highest chances. Mega man's regardless of how much i like him has good chances as well

The funny thing about this thread is that all the sonic haters are setting themselves up to a HUGE embarrassment when Sonic is confirmed for brawl. I look forward to that day when the entire smash community will get laugh at you. Good day.

You know, it's funny, because once Sonic's shown to absolutely not be in Brawl, everybody who was wanting him in will be the exact same ***es that make those hoaxes about unlocking him.
You want Mario vs. Sonic? Buy the "at the Olympic Games" game: that's a pretty clear indication to me that Sonic isn't appearing in Brawl. If he did . . . that'd be pitifully poor marketing on Sega's part (since they're the ones developing the Olympic crossover, for the most part).

while i agree that you have a point yellow mage about the SaMatOG, you could also look at it from a different point of view.
Yes sega will profit some from having sonic in brawl over licensing fees and such. but think about the killing they will make from the olympics game. To me the olympic game is kind of like an after thought by sega thinking of how they can capitilaize on the mario/sonic crossover. having sonic in brawl doesnt take away from sonic and mario in the olympics. the olympic game comes out first and will have plenty of time to get all of the consumers who want that game before brawl comes out.

I think Sega caught on to Nintendo's plan at aiming toward Casual & Hardcore fans. Brawl is aimed at the Hardcore fans mostly, while M&SatOG is aimed for the new gamers. It just adds up to a huge sum of money for Sega. This thread fails indefiently. #1 reason Sonic has a big chance in Brawl: Sega

the olympic game comes out before....by a few weeks, unless they push it back, the publicity from brawl (supposing sonic is in and thus taking away from the olympics' uniqueness) won't help sega's sales, theyre not going to buy another 50 dollar game that close together between galaxy and brawl... anyone with a wii knows that those two games are the ones we've been waiting for... if sonic meets mario in a more popular game who would buy the olympic game due to that novelty?

People will probably be all 'meh' about S&MatOG until Brawl comes out. Assuming Sonic's in, everyone's going to be in a 'Mario vs. Sonic OMG!' mode and on the hunt for more, leaving them with one place to go: Sega's pocket.

I don't care either way. Melee had characters I hated (Ness, Jigglypuff, etc.), but that didn't stop me from playing it. In fact, if anything, they gave me anger to use in matches. If I hate a particular character, I am more motivated to KO that particular character! So, if Sonic makes it in, I will definitely not main him. If he doesn't make it in, happy day! I never liked Sonic as a character.

I know, it just seems that, now that I think about it, I'm really not all that exited about Sonic anymore.. he just seems a little weird to me now... I thought long about him being in Brawl, and well, I dunno, it just didnt fit out for me..

I'm just going to say that I oppose Sonic being in Brawl too. I'unno, it just seems like he wouldn't fit in Smash for me, it'd feel 'weird'.

smash bros = an excellent, hyped, hopefully solid title and established IP with tons of in-house characters from several different franchises in one game
the olympic series= a new series of minigames starring characters from mario and sonic only, Sega REACHED out to Nintendo for the game to have the novelty of Mario and sonic FINALLY meeting... Every wii owner is going to buy Mario galaxy in November without a doubt, while theyre playing that you think theyre gonna buy an Olympic game knowing that sonic would be in brawl days later?

tahts why they dont announce it, because it would steal the olympic games thunder....right?dude... thats how i felt, the first thing i thought was sonic in smash back when egm posted the rumor of sonic being in melee, i even did the cruel melee thing and got to the double digits but not the ridiculous 24 they wanted... then I thought about it, with the subspace emissary and everything conscidered sonic being in the game would actually detract from the masterpiece its turning out to be, thats why I made this thread, I have to oppose it, sonic= the brawl anti-christ

They're most likely going to use the most recent designs for all characters.
Megaman Star Force, Sonic SR, Metroid Prime 3, etc.
