@ Y yessi Sorry man, I got a phone call from my boss, I need to wake up at 6 today, so I need to try to get some sleep, he he.

Great games like always, my Link just couldn't catch a break with that dumb lag, and I keep tripping wth, I think it's just my unlucky WiFi Wii console. Ha ha, and I got a Falcon Punch, CF is my like third or fourth main, so I knew what I was doing kind of :p

@ Y yessi And are you QD? Your Lucario reminds me of his, but you're like the second to first best Lucario I've brawled. Truly impressive work man, keep up the good work.

Yeeep, been practicing against a load of people. Need to be able to DI like that in order to survive in P:M, haha. Have you been playing offline? I've seen you on and off within the last month or two, but I rarely see you take up requests to play around here. And sure, I'll play again whenever!

Yoshi vs Ike is actually in Yoshi's favor, and If Ike gets in (like when I used Ike) he's a rag doll. But there are ways to change that, Bairs, Egglays, and so on will stop Ike easily. Though I want your Yoshi to become better and stronger, you can become better fast, just experiment man, best Yoshi.

@ Y yessi Oh, I got you, and dittos don't prove nothing really. I've brawled QD a bunch of times, I had a easier time winning him than you, but I must be honest, WiFi just helped your Lucario so much, though your Lucario plays really safe like Kami's or Gog's Lucario. Do you have a goal with Lucario, next Trela? Maybe? PHX is aiming towards that, I hope he does it.

Hmm, well, sorry to type, but yours isn't, it's still really good though, I'm going to search Online towards how to get a better clearer connection our connection is a BTier though, so that's really good. Goodnight

Camping makes the other player approach you so you can punish their approaches.
The only time camping doesn't work is if the other player can absolutely shut down your projectile, your projectile sucks at camping and if the other character has a very safe approach option.
I can't really see Ike having any of those against Yoshi.

You need to be creative, there is a reason why I've beaten all Ikes on Aib for a reason, I just think, AirJay. Didn't you also try my Yoshi vs your Ike, you should of understood that all I did was bait and read your jumps with Ike, that's what I've done with Dave, SmashKing, Ryuga, RedX, and some more other Ikes.

@ Y yessi I feel a goal would motivate you to become even stronger, maybe?

Edit: Okay, It's like this, if Ike is shield dashing, just Rar Bair, and Ike can't do any OOs after Yoshi's Bair. If Ike throw Jabs, shield the first one, then step dodge the second jab, then jab back, or Yoshi Bomb, you getting this?

I need to sleep! You three should have an FFA with each other, or whatever, so no one is left out. Night sweet Kings.

Against Yoshi's eggs? Walk and shield. Shield dash if you're feeling bold. Yoshi's egg camp is probably the easiest for me to get in against.

As for punishing their approaches, you have to be as patient as they are. Otherwise, they're going to punish your attempt at punishing them. They're the one getting camped, so patience is essential on their end. Once they get within range for anything, all they have to do is bait a reaction from you once you've noticed that they're too close to camp safely. Whether it be a shield, dodge, or something to reestablish the gap quickly and (at least somewhat) safely, this is true for any campy character. It's a duel of patience.

Definitely true but throwing eggs does help Yoshi because he can tack on some damage and limit some of your approach options.

Most characters will approach by using some sort of attack or by finding an opening and once you get in it's usually you who makes the first move because a lot of characters like Olimar will keep on camping until you enter close range, and you really want to enter close range by making the first move unless you have a good idea of what's happening next.

It's also easier for them to punish you and it's harder for you to retaliate since you're the one approaching, you have to find a way to get in close while also watching out for punishes, while the camper needs to focus only on the latter (and also focusing on
camping properly, but that's easier than trying to overcome camping)

Ofc patience plays a part in every single matchup and it's 90% of some but there are times where other things are important as well and you have to adapt to the matchup otherwise you may find yourself CG'd to 110% and be eating a Usmash.

Ohhh, he used Sonic, lol, challenge Sonic's mobility, don't throw eggs unless you're sure you're safe to throw Eggs.

Mostly just CG and always try to read Sonic's jump when he tries to get back to the stage, if you time it right and re-grab him, he's done and is in that Air Release mode.

Been doing this to every Sonic I've in the past, your best bet is to just bait Sonic's Spin Dash, and if Sonic decides to abort and up B, try your hardest to read his air dodge or aggressive Dive Kick, if you do, just Grab Release across the stage without any Pummeling, and he's done for.

I hope this makes sense kind of, just let Sonic come to you not you come to him (if connection isn't so good btw). Best Yoshi. And Ike is easily to use, Jab and stuff, your Ike was fine btw.

@ Y yessi It will help you improve more I promise, once my goal with Link was to learn everything about him, I then moved on to developing my custom tricks and stuff, I still make more goals, and I will one day create a new Meta-game for Link.

@ PKBeam PKBeam Yes, that is however, there are characters that can stop Yoshi's Eggs dead on it's tracks, even if you Ets Egg throw, characters like Link can just shoot an Arrow to intercept the Egg, Sonic can just run in easily and do stuff, MK can just dtilt poke Yoshi, using Yoshi's Eggs now is a lot harder, players have gotten more aggressive, Yoshi just need to bait them really into stuff, like pivot grabs, Egg lays for, Bair, and finally fair to Nair combination.

Though it's more different when you play the match everything becomes harder to focus on. But, Eggs should only be used if you're 100% sure it will be effective.

Well I got all that I need to get my wifi back. I might be on today if I can get it right.

I never hack my own Wii before, so hopefully it goes alright.

You don't have to hack to run the patcher, IIRC.

http://smashboards.com/threads/guid...ccasional-server-issues-are-temporary.355374/

If you did want to hack it though, I doubt you'd run into problems. Unless you did something really dumb like unplugging your Wii during Homebrew installation, the chances of bricking it are almost zero.

Still, it's good to see an elderly veteran of the arena making a triumphant return!

Yeah I could do it that way, but I probably do want to try out a few hacks for this or get Project M. Its good to be back, and hopefully I haven't fallen too far behind lol.

I'm sure you'll get used to it again soon. After a few days, I felt comfortable with the game again, though I could tell I wasn't where I used to be in terms of skill, and still aren't. You gotta take the time to ease back into it, but I know you can do it, old man!

When they say move your custom stages to your SD they also mean the default ones you got as well?

Also, don't forget players have been changing the way characters are played, and Idk how long you two haven't brawled, but things are different in terms of Meta-games and stuff. Brawl isn't dead, it's just getting started.

I don't what's left to discover about Brawl. Maybe there's still some character-specific stuff to found, but overall most techniques and matchups and other things were developed within a few years of its release.
