May I ask why I am #4 instead of #2? I beat the #2 and #3 of last PR period, and I attended more tournaments than both $Mike and Lozr.

Objectively that doesn't make more sense, unless beating more lower ranked players > beating less higher ranked players.

The two higher ranking guys of last period didn't perform up to the same standard this period so beating them is irrelevant in terms of having their respective spots(though it USUALLY means you get there if it weren't for the other point....).

Also, we don't usually factor attendance since ranking periods are pretty short here but we did so for the last ranking period simply because it was so lengthy(about half a year and 5 tourneys plus OOS) and that hurt those that are good but didn't show up much.

And that last sentence was used IN PART to determine a couple of the top spots.

How they performed this period should be irrelevant to their worth. If somebody is ranked #2 at the current time and they lose to more people than the #2 should, the people that beat them should still hold value with those wins. If I was #1 on the PR in Brawl and I started losing to Kadaj, you, Mekos, and Stingers, you guys are all getting wins over me legit. THe fact that you all did may require a tie-breaker or more information to determine, but neither player beat twitch, who was the current #2, whom I beat. We all beat Darksyde, so that becomes more irrelevant.

So, my #2 win is worth less than the wins they got over the lower ranked players? That makes no sense objectively and you can't denounce the #2 for being ****ty that ranking season. That doesn't make objective sense.

it doesn't really matter what rank the players are that you beat. twitch may have been #2 last ranking, but he's 10 now, and that's because he barely beat anyone, which makes his "worth" less valuable for this ranking.

but the REAL reason why you're not #2 is because

also the last period was one of the most disgraceful in my 2.5 year career as a smasher in NC. the level of motivation for us as a state was really bad.... and the list itself was AAABBYYYSSSMMAALLLLLL. wow i've never seen such bull****, if smith didn't make it look pretty i was gonna go to Dr Peepee's house and put him out of his misery. i was under the impression that the next ranking was a semi-"blank slate" or something since the last list so sternly sucked buttmuch....


anyway now that we're not nearly as distracted and our good players are showing up to ****, the subjectivity involved in this period's list actually has purpose (even if these guys call it "objective" don't listen to them).

ESAM, howabout you MM lozr and mike? you're not gonna beat them.
i'd **** on both of your mains as well.

Cam: Chris and I went even in sets. I lost to him after some unfortunately fancy SD's at TGM and then evened out our set count at State when I went Falcon.

On a separate note, as a general warning to anyone who plays him in the future:

Esam will conversationally talk to you nonstop during your tournament set with him if you let him. It is extremely distracting and if you don't realize it's happening you'll have dropped game 1 before you realize you've been chatting and not paying attention. It was something that Craig had mentioned to me at the end of the day and I realized that I think I saw him do it to almost everybody he played. Pretty good tourney strat if you ask me.

No johns, I fell for it and lost no matter how you look at it. He's still very good at Melee and I may have lost anyways. I'm looking forward to playing him again soon.

Also, I'd be excited to see Adam and Mike swag on Esam and I hope those MMs happen soon.

If I did that on purpose it would be brilliant, but I'm just friendly @_@ I don't do it to win considering I don't play worse/better when I'm talking.

Now the only person I talk to during sets is PP since he is so much better than me he can talk and still 2-3 stock me. ****in....so good.
