Cloud is the most recurring Final Fantasy lead out of all of them, movie, cameos, prequels, sequels, remakes, please, you have to be in complete denial to think a Moogle or a Chocobo could sell more than Cloud, mascot Status=/=popularity, a Mog doesn't out prioritize Cloud, that's like adding a Chao instead of Sonic, lol.

think about this:sakurai said that putting in characters simply because they are popular is boring,this leads me to beleive he would go for a univesal rep rather than a popular rep.

I forgot how the Sonic and Metal Gear games didn't feature Snake and Sonic as their leads in every single game, please, you didn't even understood what I posted.

He said popularity wasn't the only factor that interested him when it came to a character, he never said the popular is boring.

Oh but I did.

Sonic and Snake not only represent their respective franchises as a whole, but their companies too.

Cloud doesn't do that despite his hoard of fanboys.

But Square knows that Cloud represents their series and company. When most people think of Square-Enix, what game do they think? Final Fantasy.

Who's the most popular character in Final Fantasy? Cloud.

That's why there's a crapload of games in the "Compilation of FFVII" series... and one FFVI game.

Ok,i admit i warped what he said a little.but even then he would be more likely to go for universal representation over singular representation.

That's not up to you to say, the most popular is usually the safe bet, Square knows that Cloud brings the cash, the reason people oppose Cloud so much is because his role in a Nintendo console is minor, Mog doesn't have neither the fanbase nor the leading roles.

You don't know that and even then the universal representation would be Chocobo, not Mog.

Who's Final Fantasy had the most remakes to date? Cecil.
Cecil is the best FF character, and he was the first with an actual background as wel as the rest of the main characters.

Why would he want to incorparate such a lowly character that he'd have to pay for to get in the game? A WTF character can only be 1st or 2nd party.

Cloud has a sword even bigger than mine! How is that not unique?
Playing as a small, minor generic ****bag is much more fun.
Third party characters aren't WTF characters.
So? He still had an appearence, and you can't change that.

The unique weapons arguement is a dumb**** arguement made up by people supporting characters who oh so happen to be supporting a character of that caliber IE Miciah, Ashley, Mog.
Seriously, playing as a crackbaby who dances with a spear isn't fun.
3rd Party characters are meant to rake in sales. Mog can't do that, he's like an even more generic and minor Toad.
Minor and important? Are you a sped or something? You contradicted yourself in the same sentence. He's had no more important of a role in any game than his competition, Chocobo or Cecil, or Cloud.

Chocobo has much more relevance, popularity, game appearences, and games in a whole. Hell, Mog was supposed to be replaced with Montblanc

Chocobo is better than Mog at REPRESENTING the series, he's appeared in every single game 'cept the first. He even has his own Spin-Off series, and a WELL-EDUCATED fanbase.

Actually now that I think about it....I Hate Chocobos cuz of the hassle in FF7 and cuz a White one w/ gold tips kicked my @$$ in FF12....and in FFT they kept rebirthing(with no mates)

And cuz Chocobo Racing is Hard....(the full game)


(To anyone ho ever played FF7...remember TEIOH)

but yeah I really can and cant see Chocbos making it B4 Mog. In fact itd be up in the air (due to game play)


But Looking as far as a mascot...Boco the Chocobo wins
