Oy people. I run tournaments over at Castle Golf in many games:

We used to do this every Sunday, but I have decided to now do it only every other Sunday, starting with this Sunday June 17th.

There will be a big event on July 1st, with tournaments in many fighting games, and also Dance Dance Revolution Extreme.

Long Island, NY - July 1st 2007: Day Of Prophecy

Come join us, won't you?

Yeah it looks pretty cool. But did you all notice the pricing? $6 an hour. (with only a minor discount for each consecutive hour)

At Castle Golf, if you pay to enter at least one tourney (some days we do $5 tourneys, some days we do $10 tourneys), that lets you play casuals all day. (from 3pm - close, which is 10pm - midnight depending on activity) If you don't want to enter any tourneys, $5 is all you have to pay to play casuals all day.

Of course, the pricing for the big event on July 1st is slightly different:

Basically, $10 venue with $5 tourneys. And this one starts at 1pm. But people can start showing up as early as 12pm if they want.

The idea is that we hold tournies so that it is a straight up tourney price instead of per hour.

We're checking out both places regardless.

What do mean a "straight up tourney price"? I don't see anything about that. I see that they have flat prices for entering tourneys, but it doesn't look like there's going to be Smash anytime soon, and I don't see anything about requesting tournaments in particular games. Hmm.

Did you all look at the Pics section? I mean, the place definitely looks kinda cool. But the pricing is just too much to visit often like weekly or even bi-weekly.

But if they have PS3s and Virtua Fighter 5 and Tekken: DR, I might actually visit somewhat often.

That's major BS not including music or art classes in the deal. I can understand PE, but PE is still important. GSL are fools for not capitalizing on the chance to encourage kids to be more active.

No but we are going to negotiate with them for a price. It worked for paralalx and every other lan center. Tournies dont charge by time they charge by event

Tournies charge like 20$ and around half goes to the store, thats enough for them because people still buy foods and such then we don't need to pay for the hour price. At parallax they said we had to pay if we wanted to stay after the tournament so we just left we'll do that anywhere.
