In your opinion what are the most beginner friendly characters in the game. In which the learning gap between beginner and non-beginner is the shortest. For this thread let us pretend jiggly puff is not a character in the game.

sheik and marth are both much easier to start with than jigglypuff. unless youre playing a fox/falco that hits your shield and misses L cancels, bad jigglypuffs just die like hell to everything.

Shiek lol. So eazymode ^^
Peach has a good and easy dash attack + a good and easy recover.
You can play Marth pretty okay without L-canceling I guess. Unless you spam dair for some reason.
Fox can be good at lowbie stage when you never even think about tech-skill.

i was talking about this with a friend last night. We both agreed that the best two beginning characters are sheik and Marth. the reason these two are the best are not just b/c u can spam moves and beat your noob friends but b/c they are the best at teaching you how to play ssbm. Marth teaches the importance of the grab game, and spacing if you want those tippers. Also his wavedash may not be the easiest to use /learn with but its very useful. Marth also will help noobs learn how to tilt starting with the easy to use down tilt to the harder for beginners up tilt, and u need to use marths up-tilt since his up-smash is pretty bad.

Next is sheik. She also helps people learn how to tilt and to not spam smashers. she also has a great grab game and with down throw will help people learn chain grabs and tech chasing. Her less then great recovery will get new players to learn how to be trickier while recovering which is important. She also helps people get use to gimping. Lastly her easy combos help people visually see what can or can not combo and overall this helps people get a feel for the game.

So i thunk learning these two are better then jiggs for a beginner if they really want to learn to get better and play smash

Jigglypuff isn't even the best noob character, it's definitely Sheik.

I mean look at early tier lists.

Either I am misinterpreting this thread or everybody else is.

I thought it was who is the best character to use when you're a beginner to learn the game fastest?

But everyone is just posting characters it is easiest to use when you're new and playing against other new players (marth, sheik)

Honestly I might have to agree with Ruby. Link's pretty good.

Maybe someone like Mario also.

I would have to say Marth instead of Sheik.

Sheik requires at least a basic understanding of DI, and techchasing.

As Marth just grab > upthrow > **** and fsmash.

G&W is pretty good if you suck at L-cancelling and if your opponent doesn't shield pressure. He has huge hitboxes so you will typically land your attacks regardless of precise spacng and his recovery is massive so you won't often find yourself dying off the bottom because you didn't DI efficiently enough.

In short, falcon requires a load of tech skill and some serious reading ability do to high generally slower moves and unexceptional range.
