Luigi is not a clone of Mario.so? Luigi's a friggin clone everyone knows that.
If you checkmark Show Your Signature, it will. You must not Quick Reply. If you do that, your signature will not be shown...see? I also have none in this post.
Me too. I bet we won't hear many more newcomer posts from the Dojo.I have high doubts that Marth will be in the starting roster. He will most likely be hidden. Why? I just feel that way. I just wish he has a part in Subspace Emissary.
Yea, its possible Ike will be the only starting FE character. If you checkmark Show Your Signature, it will.

Amen to that brothah! Marth's return is imminenti don't care whos the starter FE character as long as my good ol' reliable main is still in ^^
Frankly, I have almost no knowledge of the Mother series, so I can't really compare the two with any certainty. I can point out three facts though: first, Ness was not the first protagonist of Mother, Ninten was, and plainly he was rejected as a SSB character for some reason. Second, the Mother series is much smaller than Fire Emblem, having only three games to its name (which makes it pretty difficult for Ness, with only one of three games, to be as iconic to his series as Marth is to his with three of eleven games, more than any other main character of the series). Third, and most important, Sakurai stated in Ness' profile on the old Melee site that he never intended Ness to be in SSB - not even the N64 game - but only put him in because Lucas' game kept getting delayed, preventing his inclusion. He always wanted Lucas to be the Mother character in SSB, not Ness. Why this is, I have no clue; it may well just be Sakurai's personal preference. I also heard somewhere that Sakurai worked on Mother 3 - if thats the case, it may well be a big reason for his decision.Hey zevox i need you to explain a theory to me (It has to do with the mother theory and i need it posted on the front page.) Since i'm not "Super-accurate" At explaining on why it made more sence to put Lucas in instead of Ness and it wouldn't for Marth and ike ... Do you mind explaining that on there ? Thanks , And i've had to link a lot of people to this thread ;P(It's because i've heard a lot of people at nsider2 say "Because ness is out then marth must be also since they are both the first protaginists/icons to the series!")
Not really. Counter is a fairly generic special move, something which could be given to any trained swordsman, and it fits perfectly with Marth's fighting style. To put it in perspective, would it make sense to remove Link's bow special attack (for a slingshot, perhaps, which is just as iconic to the Zelda series) just because Pit now has a bow attack for his neutral b?Zorya said:But honestly, you all don't think that Marth's down b should be changed if Ike already has it?
Seems kinda pointless to just stick a shield on him at this point. Maybe it could be used for a final smash or something.I think Marth should be back with the shield, it would be a nice add.
Marth is fine the way he is. A shield would look a bit out of place. It wouldn't look cool since he's not as agile as Link or Sophitia.I think Marth should be back with the shield, it would be a nice add.
Aye. Look who it is. Mr. Fanboy. Axe here. Obviously your just PURE fandom and no apparent reason. Xevox is the only actually person to put up some arguements, and you just stay behind his back and say "yeah!" like Pokey in Earthbound.Amen to that brothah! Marth's return is imminent
Go back to your Mom's basement Noob! If all you read are my 1 second agreement posts then you really are an idiot! I've brought up tons of good points throughout this entire thread!Aye. I think that the Fire Emblem could potentially play a role in the Final smash itself, however on the character alone it seems kinda pointless especially since now Marth's original chracter in SSBM never used it. Also, though Marth uses the Fire Emblem throughout most of book 1, it's almost never used until the last few chapters in book 2. Since the Smash Bros Marth is based from the one in book 2 (you can tell because book 1 Marth doesn't have the red broach pinning his cape) it makes more sense that the character doesn't use the Fire Emblem during normal use. However, I think it would be a nice touch to somehow incorporate it into the Final smash, how I'm not sure since I haven't beated FE3 yetMarth having the Fire Emblem shield for his FS would be pretty kick ***! i don't know how it'd fit but, it seems appropriate to me
And was it needed to point that out? Let people be, and if you don't like how they are, shame on you.Aye. Look who it is. Mr. Fanboy. Axe here. Obviously your just PURE fandom and no apparent reason. Aside from the Final Fantasy ones, I don't think there have been that many... there was one I recall something to do with a pillar of fire, another about stopping time with a giant beam of light and then there was summoning Jeigan or Sheeda. Which I personally didn't favour. And was it needed to point that out? Let people be, and if you don't like how they are, shame on you.
Until now... how many Marth Final Smash suggestions are now?
Check the first post (emphasis added):I heard Marth was a homosexual. Can anyone confirm this? I'm really asking.
Ironically, even though people criticize Marth's appearance for making him look homosexual and some of those liked Ike because he looked otherwise in their view, it is Ike who is implied to be one of the bi/homo-sexual characters in Fire Emblem at a few points in his games, not Marth. Theres even a thread in the Ike sub-forum about that (well, the Ike half anyway).5: Hes too feminine/gay/*insert generic assumption based on Marth’s appearance*
I’m sorry to hear your view of him is confined to narrow-minded stereotypes and assumptions, but the simple fact of the matter is that they mean nothing for whether or not he should be in. They may impact whether you like him or not, but it’s the popular opinion that matters, not the opinion of any individual, and popular opinion is very much so in his favor. And for those who may be willing to be educated out of this viewpoint: Marth’s tiara belonged to his dead sister, Ellis, and he wears it in honor of her; his breastplate is a fairly common piece of armor from medieval times, designed to provide good protection (especially of the heart and other vital organs) while not weighing too much or interfering with mobility; he wears the fine clothes he does because he is a prince and such is expected of him; and he very far from being a homosexual, as he displays potential romances with several women in his games, the most prominent being the princess of a neighboring country, Sheeda (I say potential only because actual support-style romances weren’t implemented until the fourth FE game, and they’re merely implied in the game, never expounded upon fully, at least to my knowledge). Edit: And as I have just learned, at the beggining of the second book in Mystery of the Emblem, it is mentioned that Marth is engaged to Sheeda, so apparently that romance was expounded upon after all.
*guesses at censored word* The possibility is implied in his games that he may have such a relationship with his friend Soren, yes. Read [thread=127286]this thread[/thread] if you're interested in it - someone summarized the main pieces of evidence for it nicely on one of the early pages, and theres a difficult to unlock special conversation between Ike and Soren in his second game, Radiant Dawn, which we haven't managed to get a transcript of yet. Of course, we'd probably need a translation of the Japanese version to know for sure, since NOA would likely edit any indication of homosexuality it may contain. They sure tried with Lyn and Florina in FE 7. But then again, they didn't seem to try too hard with Raven and Lucius in the same game, or with Heather in Radiant Dawn, so maybe we'll get lucky.Ike is a ***? oh...lol.
Marth is engaged to the Princess of Talis, her name is Sheeda. Marth is NOT a homosexualI heard Marth was a homosexual. Can anyone confirm this? I'm really asking.
