Ryu may need a worthy rival to step up to the plate. If Ryu's in at all, it's just playing on the same leak as Roy, which is good.

We still have the Direct presentation, the Fire Emblem concert, and the ballot is open until October, don't give up hope now. This and the Direct is just Plan A, the FE concert is Plan B, and the Ballot is Plan C. We may see random backup plans pop up later down the line, the concert and this championship are examples.

Exactly. We still have the Direct presentation...and the Fire Emblem Concert. It's like how last time we had the Smash Invitational but we still got Palutena and Mii Fighters in the Direct presentation.
I also doubt we'll see Ryu because...well, they didn't do anything(in terms of revealing a new char that is) for the Smash Invitational either even though it would've been 10x more fitting than any other possible event. So yep, the Championship still imo means nothing.

Hello? The World championships won't reveal anything. Hell, they didn't even reveal freaking Pac-Man at the Invitational stage in the Nokia theater last year. He was revealed in a closed off to the public roundtable.

I personally think we'll see the reveals in the Digital Presentation rather than the World Championships. Though the World Championships might start to hint at Ryu for some reason.

In fact, I have this theory that Smash Bros would be featured in the event and the one who wins it will take on the "new challenger", which would be shown to be Ryu (incase they'd not show in the presentation). But yeah.

So I just heard about the World Championships news, and personally, I'm in the middle of whether we're gonna see a character reveal or not during it, seeing as it did not happen with Pac-Man and he wasn't revealed until after the Invitational in closed doors, but something like revealing Ryu would be so fitting in my opinion.

Why would Nintendo reveal Roy to a small amount of people that are going to be at the concert, than hype it up at E3? Of course, it may happen at the concert, but I think the better option will be to make it as hype as possible at E3.

Honestly...I find it more likely Sakurai will say something about Roy in the Fire Emblem Concert in July rather than a digital presentation at E3.

Actually, I feel like they're trying to throw a curve ball at E3. I have this strange feeling that 5 characters were planned independent of the smash ballot which would be Mewtwo, Lucas, Ryu, Roy, and perhaps Wolf. Everybody expects Roy or Ryu, instead it's Wolf. Kinda like a parallel to how Robin, Lucina, and Shulk were announced.

Of course...nobody really knows how many DLC characters are planned independent of the ballot.

Was Shulk a Japanese-exclusive Nintendo Direct reveal, and a highly-wanted Japanese contender? If that's the case, I can totally see Roy (a very highly-wanted Japanese character) getting similar treatment... if only because Sakurai is unpredictable and likes to mix things up.

The only difference being that this is DLC and not normal character inclusion. With Shulk, you would easily be able to know that he's in the game by playing the game. With Roy, theirs a possibility many fans will be oblivious to his inclusion if he's revealed at a much smaller scale event like that and is also a wasted opportunity considering 2 Fire Emblem games are going to be shown off at E3.

Mewtwo was revealed in the 50 Fact video. I'd say that's pretty big way to reveal him considering that people thought their would be no DLC in the game.

Thanks! I actually spread a lot of the Roy love on Miiverse. I have several other posts campaigning for Roy's return when the ballot was announced. I've had that Roy persona for a while now too.

I think it would put Roy in a really, really good position (I do feel uncomfortable giving anyone a 100% lock). Sakurai has stated in the past that he dislikes having to cut characters, and with Roy being a DLC vet, I will find it odd if he were to be scrapped mid development. But still, I would rather wait until we get an official word.

Don't worry, time will fly. Especially the less you think about it. Seems like just yesterday I was in January in freezing cold weather, blizzards, and darkness. Man I have a love-hate relationship with Winter, soon when it's summer I'll be wanting Winter! Let's keep supporting our boy for better or for worse.

Useful for the boss of this chapter, being an Armor Knight, as well as being useful in general if you wish to save Rapier uses. I find it inferior to Killing Edges and Silver Swords, plus there’s another Rapier later, so I’m not worried.

I actually like that because it helps me take naps in the Afternoon which is pretty hard to do in other seasons. Summer annoys me not only because of the unbearable weather but also because of people half naked on the street . Honestly, if it weren't for the Summer break, Summer would be my least favorite season of the year.
