Btw, touney tomorrow. Since it's a smaller tourney than the usual ones, there's a chance there won't be many random MKs, which means I'll use Luigi for once instead of pretending I'll encounter over 9000 of them and go Diddy... =V

Guys, just think of where Luigi would be if MK didn't exist or was an even matchup...Marth and GaW would be his only "counters", and they're both pretty doable.

GaW is too easy to jab-upB to be a Luigi counter. Snake is harder than gaw lmao

But yeah, without MKs there will be a lot of marths (I speak of what I know of, until a few months ago France had no MK besides its top player... and loads of marths...)

Wtf how can Snake be harder than G&W, Luigi does terribad vs G&W, G&W's smashes is 2 pro for Luigi. G&W ***** Luigi, Luigi can't even CP him.

Well, maybe the GaWs I play don't know the matchup, but there's really no danger about GaW to me. He's just a slower Luigi...

G&W is a difficult MU, trust me, just try to better G&W players, u'll see. Snake is somewhat easy on wifi, but hes very beasty offline.

GaW is a pretty difficult MU.

I played Norra's GaW the other day on Wifi, close matches but I won the set. I know it's wifi and doesn't mean anything, but hey beating a decent GaW with Luigi is somewhat challenging.

i went luigi and marth, lost twice, didnt win any, and got knocked out. placed like 21st out of...21 LOL. (jokes)

I lost to an Ike and an MK. don't take this to heart, MK is still do-able, i'm just really out of the zone now. i got my wii fixed though, so i'm getting back into brawl for real now. hopefully i won't be a national embarrassment now xD

also, i tauntspiked an MK in doubles. Grand finals too i think <3

Gdubs isn't that hard at all imo. You can camp the mess out of him with fireballs and if he tries to use bucket that's a free up-b. I'm almost certain that Luigi's jab outspeeds/clanks with everything he has on the ground. You might have to worry a little bit about his nair and fair, but that's about it.

Luigi vs game and watch is even. He's an extremely predictable character and its really easy to sdi the bair to luigi's nair.

When GaW absorbs a fireball with bucket, the lag is insane. If you're anywhere close to him, you get a free hit. That being said, don't be dumb and spam your FBs. Use them smartly so he has to work around them. On his last stock, at about 50%, use them more, because if he takes time to bucket one, he gets up B'd. gg.

Lolz nice info, but his smash's do get annoying because they are fast =/
And most spam

his smash speed is amazing. Not only that, but you can't predict them well. Theres no start up lag or anything so trying to punish often gets you punished. Overall I just need to fall for less baiting and bait more and I think I can win the MU.

compare second half 09 to now. Luigi's slowly moving up. Make sure you look all the way at the top. Luigi is ahead of peach and GaW, which is pretty good if you ask me.

And GaW's smashes do have a little starting lag. Just enough so that if you end up next to him, close enough for a jab, just jab and you'll outspeed his smashes and tilts.

And another thing, why don't we have a Luigi's tournament results thread? It'd be nice to know how we're doing. I could try to run one if you guys want one.

I looked at it. Hasn't been updated since Feb. and it's almost June. Hurricane Rev.'s last sign on was about a month ago. I'm feeling that I should make one. I PM'd him about it. I'll wait a day or two to see if he responds, then I'll make another (of course, looking at the other board's tourney threads to get a general idea). And don't worry YoshQ, I'd keep it as current as you guys can post.
