but aside from that yall should come play anyway. however kyle doesnt want people at his house anymore so we have to arrange a place to play.

Well, what Freddy says applies to some of us. Baton Rouge has a lot more of the top players than Lafayette does. We're a small group right now, and not all of us from Lafayette play the game just for the competition. The game is really fun and comical; it's entertaining.

Playing in BR this Friday would be fun, but Matt and I are also hoping to contact some local shops and ask about hosting tournaments there.

Ben, I'm up for it. I'm trying to convince Matt that we can still talk to the shops on Saturday or any other day.

By the way, who is DownSyndromeKid?

Yes. I plan to finish Metroid Prime 3, which is also an awesome game, right before Mario Galaxy comes out. I've also been playing Mercury Meltdown Revolution; with the Wii sensor controls, it's a very cool puzzle game.

That's my issue. I don't have melee, I can't play it unless I go somewhere else. Cause I don't feel like wasting the money to buy the game and a GC controller (I have a Wii, but no GC, we always played at my friend's house.)

Besides, there's no point in playing melee without local friends, which I currently have none of.

OOOMMMGGG! You poor man. It will be the best $29.99 you have ever spent in your life. Plus, gamecube controllers are useful with the wii. You can get a used one that is still in semi-decent condition from a videogame store, and that would suffice. They're possibly the most comfortable controllers ever.

At first i kinda took offence to Freddy's comment as well, but i think he may have ment that Lafayette doesn't have as many high level players TO PLAY than BR does. So its not that we suck, we just don't have many of us to smash with, amirite?

Just kiddin', but even so, it's no big deal. Lol. I don't take offense easily. We don't suck, but we're nowhere near BR's level of competition.

OK, TIME FOR SERIOUS BUSINESS LOLOL:
Ben, is there any way that you can get off of work at like 8:30 friday (find someone else to fill in for you for a while)? Because there is no way we will make it to the friday tournament on time. It's from 10:00 pm to 2:00 am.

Matt and I kinda want to make it back to Lafayette for Saturday, if we do go, as well. He said that you said that McFox said that he wants to play.

Ok last but not least, if we do decide to come, are we pretty much guaranteed to be able to enter the tournament? Each of us needs the "guest" status, so we each need a LSU student to escort us or something.

McDonalds makes me puke. D: We're thinking about the GameTrader place which supposedly exists in Lafayette. Also, there's CyberLAN, and multiple video game/trading card game/comic book shops in Lafayette.

Any place that doesn't require us to give a fixed prize like Aladdin's Gay Castle is better. They only hold the tourneys when they can get atleast 300 dollars in entry fees, then they give away one single 100 dollar prize to first place. That is bull****. If we do run a tournament, we want a percentage based prize. Hopefully we can give 10% of the entry fees to the host, then keep the rest for prizes. Say like 50%:25%:15% or 60%:20%:10% to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. We might even beable to get away with free tournaments, since bringing more people into their shop means they will sell more food and merchandise anyway.

Well, if you can't get to Late Night by 10:00-10:15, then it's doubtful that you'll make a spot in the tournament. I think all 32 spots filled up by about 10:30 last time. If I know for certain that you will be there on time and who/ how many people are with you, then I might be able to sign up for you. Then again, I might not be able to do that. However, I can try to check for you today.

And yes, you do need be a guest to get into this. The tournament is more of a sideshow to a larger event, so I don't think we can bend the rules on this. However, like I said, random people might help you get in, if you're nice and friendly. Though, your best bet would be to plan for someone to meet you outside and take you in as a guest. I'm not too sure who all is going to this from LSU that can let guests in. I probably won't be able to because I'm helping with the setup and such. I believe Taylor's going, maybe Kyle? Patrick? Corey (sp?) your friend from LSMSA? I'm sure you can get in if you really want to, but it just needs to be worked out before Friday night.

Also, Gameware is still interested in holding tournaments in the new store, as far as I know. I've talked to Stephen about it some, and he said that biweeklies might be possible. Nothing definite yet, but that'd be awesome if it happened.

You are aware that I'm not all that new to this game right? xD I played for like 2 years before I even started playing with Patrick (Shoretop). We were room mates in high school so we got a LOT of practice for a year. Patrick, Kris, Bryan, and I played almost everyday. I did just come back to the game a few months ago, after not playing or visiting the forums much last year. :D That's why I probably seem relatively new.
