LOLOLOLOLOLOL get destroyed on your own character's stage! Stay mad bro

Brawlman, I love you dawg, but DAMN work on your DI! Sometimes you'd go straight horizontal!

Why didn't they stream any singles after WF's? LAME
Why don't you show up to the next LA tourney ya bum. I think your reign of terror is just about over.
As for singles after WF, Brawlman didn't even take a second stock from Denti, and Denti beat infinity in the second set. Olimar is so awful to deal with without intricate matchup knowledge... I'd rather fight ics any day.

uugugghghgghghg I really wish I could have gone!!!! Next one I WILL be there!!! S/Os to Gunner, Okuser, and Bman; y'alls matches were awesome!!

BTW, I'm going to my church today to discuss and plan a game night with my youth pastor, and a Smash tourney is going to be the main event. I'll give you guys the date when it's set, but I'm shooting for this weekend.

Note: This isn't a professional tourney with a payout, and there might be only two people (including me) that know the metagame. The "Gentleman's Rule" will apply to a lot of things to make it fun for the people who may have never played smash before, but they'll still have to play by the tourney's rulesheet (probably the Apex rulesheet) if asked to. It would be cool if some smashers could show up, so me and my friend will actually have some competition lol... It will be fun though considering that I'll be working closely with the TOs so that the tourney runs like an actual tournament. More information will come later today once we're done planing, but if anyone is interested let me know.
I would attend that for sure

Dude, keep us posted. Are you going to be running the tournament? If you are, would you need help running it? If I'm able to make it, I'll definitely attend. Even if I'm unable to, if there's anything you'd like to talk about, you can PM me or whatever.

Don't worry about it Brawlman, thats a matchup you want to train up your marth on. The game is not going to be fun against Olimar, so its not like your "i love playing sonic" rule will apply. Look at Espy, he beat Rich Brown a long time ago, but even now he can't beat Denti anymore. The character just counters Sonic with such brain dead ease that it doesn't work anymore no matter how good your sonic is. If Neo and Mr R can take down Dabuz, I'm sure with some practice you can take down Denti. But if you want to fight some quality Olimars, you need to come to Houston and battle with Asa and Sync.

In other news, Xyro has announced that Whobo 5 will be Metaknight banned. MK mains get to enter for free just like last year. I hope this excites you guys as much as it excites me :)

Most disappointing news I've heard in a very long time.

Yea he does that, just look at any non-mk thats done well at a national recently. MK almost always takes out bad matchups for you and all you really need to know is how to beat the bat.

@okuser, thats unfortunate, but luckily for you, there are numerous other options for a large MK legal tournament. HOBO 40 will still be MK legal, so hopefully you are still willing to show up for the final HOBO.

Thats just how it goes. Its rare for a non-mk to get so far in bracket, so its far less likely that 2 non-mks will fight each other late in bracket. So if you main ZSS and would get stomped by ICs or Falco, its still unlikely that 3 top MKs will lose to a top zss, top falco and a top ics allowed them to even face each other at high levels. As long as you can beat MKs, its not very likely you will run into a high level player using one of your worst matchups. Thats why characters with hard counters will do better as long as they do well vs MK. All your DEHFs and Shugos will probably fall to your M2Ks, Antis and Zeros before they run into Vinnie or ESAM.

This is true. Playing Sonic is fun but fighting Olimar is not. Definitely one of the few MUs I intend to always use Marth for. Though I hate Olimar no matter what character I use. :/

After attending Who's Tyler, HOBO 40 is looking real good right now. I'll see as the date draws closer.

Zss vs ics isn't bad, but I agree with what you're saying. I don't think banning MK at this stage of the game's life/development is worth it. That won't stop me from attending of course.

Yea Brawlman, even if you pick MK, you won't enjoy fighting Olimar. He might not be as broken as MK, but the character design is so repetitive that you might as well equip yourself with the options to end him ASAP when you get in. Hopefully he gets revamped in Smash 4 to be more interesting.

Compared to most of the cast, Olimar is actually not that repetitive because he has a lot of good options. The fun in the character is making others mad \^^;/

I don't think non-olimar players would agree with you.
I've heard people say they enjoy the matchup vs Snake, Falco, ZSS, Diddy Kong even ICs.
I personally enjoy fighting MK with Sonic.

But I've never heard anyone mention enjoying fighting an olimar for any "in-game" reason. The most I've heard is "I love fighting olimars, because they act like little ******* when they lose" or "Dabuz is a crybaby little douchebag when I beat him, so its kinda fun" or " I get a good laugh when people show poor sportsmanship and storm off when pivot grabbing and spamming upsmash didnt work".

But, not once has a low, mid, high or top level player ever said "i like how he throws pikmin at me, pivot grabs, roll away and upsmashes when I get close, its fun when he whistles stuff and mashes buttons".

Yaaaaay, personal attacks on me cause I have anger issues. Olimar is such an easy character to fight though and once you get in, the sweet nectar of them not being able to do anything should make the opponent feel great because it's almost like a combo video.

I have anger issues too so its not my fault.

Euphemisms are fun.
Oh no, you misunderstand, I completely admit it's my fault and I openly admit to being a terrible person for it so W/E. I don't think this is a fair time or place to bring up insults when the conversation at hand didn't call for it and doing so is only bringing yourself down to my level of being an awful person.

Once you get past all of the Olimar stuff with Luigi, jab -> up B feels pretty good if you manage to land it

I also admit that its your fault. I wouldn't say you are terrible. You are probably an okay guy when you win, and if you didn't win alot I wouldn't even know who you are.

This is a social thread and I thought it would be socially acceptable to be rude. Thats what you do right?

If I was an OK guy, it wouldn't matter if I win or lose, however because i'm bad when I don't win, that makes me immature when upset with myself, making me childish and therefore a bad person. Winning or losing is not a justifiable reason for my actions.

No, it's not acceptable to be rude like the way you are. I don't go around in public spouting insults at someone just because I don't like them.

Tesh quit being a super ***. Get that **** out your mouth and get the **** out of the louisiana thread. Don't come in here ******** about a ****ty game in which you play a ****ty character, and in the grand scheme of things are pretty ****ty at it. There's way cooler things we could be talking about. Like connect 4, or the fact that I'm pretty sure jake's a dad (wtf/grats?)
