But seriously, I don't have a problem doing it. Thing is: I am not going to attend that many tournaments (with job and school going on right now especially) throughout the year. I just record stuff whenever I show up. That's also a problem that exists: plenty of people who do have the means to record seem to not care at all in LA (Erick seems to do that aplenty, but really he has technical difficulties most of the time, which is still dumb). I really don't mind putting forth extra effort, but I just won't be at enough events to please people who truly want videos of LA play.

I want to see at least 15 people come to this event. Don't look around as ask who's coming. You be the attendance. Bring everyone you know. I will pester you guys about this until I get what I want. So come and bring people with you. I don't care if you tie them to the hood of your car. If the cops chase you, well bring them too, we'll enter them in a tournament. Hell bring the whole department if you can get enough attention with a high speed chase, do it. Bring the felons, hijack their white bus. Bring your girlfriends, bring your wives, they got nothing better to do. Bring your neighbor from down the street. Bring anyone you meet.

erick talked to me about trying to host an event over here in MS. would any of guys be willing to make the 2 hour drive for some melee/brawl? I would try to have it in either in my hometown or possible Biloxi so you guys wouldn't have to travel that far

So it looks like my endymion trip fell through, so I won't be getting to hang with you guys next weekend. Stupid car. I imagine that I'll try to get some sort of trip to happen once I get my car issues settled though. It just won't be mardi gras.:(

On a totally unrelated note though, yes Vaughn, you should hang out with people again (I guess you haven't been?). And when I come I'll bring settlers and we can play.

Vaughn too good. That is all.

i have to work on that day. freddy and/or tim, jake, who ever else might go. but no one ever checks swf except me so they will probably forget since im not going and wont be reminding them constantly.

i think slidell would be better than MS. i mean, most the players are from BR and nola right now. there is also houma. i think it would be a little silly to have 95% of the community drive 2 hours vs having 75% drive one hour (and then nola like 30 mins).

Seconding the request for closer event. Bummer you won't be at Get Hype Taylor, but we should set up a smashfest sometime soon.

Yes, indeed. It's most of the reason I wanna get back in. That and I've gained a newfound respect for the game seeing as how everyone bothered to donate a huge amount of money towards breast cancer research all for a shot at EVO.

I actually dropped Zelda a long time ago. I love her to death, but I just wasn't having fun with her anymore. So I ended up flocking to Kirby just to be silly. Been exposing noobs with him ever since, lol.

I don't mind sharing any of my Zelda knowledge, though. I imagine her metagame is still exactly the same as before I left.

I imagine I'm rusty as hell now, though.

I've hung out a few times, just not nearly as much. I've been busy with school and other activities recently. Whenever we get the chance though, Settlers it is.

I live in Covington which is about 20-30 minutes from Slidell. I'd love to see the MS scene explode so I can participate in whatever you guys have to offer. You also will draw in some of the AL community too so I would expect MS has so much potential and would be a Godsend for both LA and AL.

I like the location too. It's not directly in Hammond where I would have preferred it (though we might in the future), but I figure we could bring in people from BR, Hammond, Slidell maybe and everywhere inbetween.

It'd be cool if we could get a headcount of who is still in BR and you guys talk among yourselves to try and make a carpool to have on a regular basis at least go to Get Hype and BR Monthlies. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of you guys left to make a decent sized carpool.

As much as I feel constantly reminding everyone that an event is happening is babying you guys, and I really hate babying people, if it means I have a greater chance of getting better attendance, I will keep posting about my event until you get sick of me posting about it, and I'll still post about it until it's said and done. For some reason, people around here will forget stuff in 24 hours. I'll keep the constant reminder until the 16th.

The next thing I'll try is getting everyone's number and sending out texts as reminders. But I'll see how it works out. To be honest, if any you guys have a facebook, it'd be better to join the facebook event because there's constant reminders and updates there.

I think I've offered multiple times to record in almost every social in this region but everyone seems to hate me or something so w/e.

Just gimmie my vids at least. Recording/uploading is too easy for everyone to shove it off on that one state anyway.

Take a look at the circuit schedule and see which one(s) you want to attend. Try and take off for those far enough ahead of time, assuming that's possible. I'm not sure how your job is about taking off.

Edit: Or I could also take over the OP. I get on everyday and do pretty well keeping up with what's going on in his thread. It's up to you guys.

it is simple. i cannot afford to take off work. if i take off too much, i can't pay my bills. i went to 2 tournaments recently and then had to take off for a mardigras ball with my girlfriend. i cant afford to miss another day at work currently. maybe next time my funds will be better.
