So what do you guys think is a better announcement date for Ashley? This month (The month before WarioWare Gold is announced) or October (Which is when Spoopy Season is)?

Well, this month or August is what should happen since it'd coincide, but as for what will happen... Sakurai will reveal a character whenever he darn well pleases.

It would be better to get Ashley in for WarioWare Gold Publicity. Nintendo can use October to announce who ever will be relevant at that time.

Yeah I can see an info dump in the next couple weeks. For a wario compilation game they are being suspiciously tight lipped leading to it's release. It even says the number of players as "to be determined.".

They are either hiding suprises, or are pretty bad at marketing this game. Either way i'll do as the website asks and wait for details... soon

WarioWare Gold might have multiplayer?! That's awesome!!! Mega party games was a blast! Unfortunatly, you couldn't play as Ashley..

So... hypothetical situation. What if we get Ashley and Lip in the game, but one is the other's Echo? Visually these characters aren't too different and they're both characters that use magic as their primary means of attack with little wands. I'd much rather have Ashley be the main character and Lip the echo, but having them both in the game could be a nice fan service moment. I know it's a bit of a stretch, and likely doing a bit of a disservice to the one chosen as an echo fighter, but I could also see a reality in which that happens.

How would you all feel in that situation?

I think it would be neat, to be honest, but I'm pretty sure it would piss some people off.

Yeah it would be great! No clue yet if it does. I figured it was single player but the official nintendo website saying it's unknown is a bit odd to say the least. I'd love to play online that'd be so fun.

I highly doubt this would happen, but it's not impossible. I think in terms of both being smol and having magic it lines up. But the types of magic are very very different.

I'd rather her be unique so they could use red and have him be her broom and wand and transform for attacks, lip couldnt do this.

The situation more so depends on whether Lip keep up with what Ashley has in her arsenal. I don't know if Lip can brew potions, fly on a broom, or if she has a companion.

I don't want Ashley' s moveset to be held back for the sake of adding Lip.

As much as I would like Lip to make the roster, no just no. They may both be child mage girls, but their magic is too different from each other's. Like Freshly said, Ashley's moveset should not be gimped to make way for Lip.

Well hello there, Ashley support thread! I've been observing this thread for about a week or so now (maybe a bit less), but it's fascinating to see how popular and desirable Ashley is this time around compared to what happened in the Smash 4 days! And with Ridley now in and being the answer to Western fan demand, I could see Ashley getting in as the answer to Japanese fan demand!

As for my experience with her, I do recall playing at least one or two WarioWare games growing up, so she is a character I remember seeing (heck, I might of even done her specific cinematic minigame area a few times). Either way, feel free to add me to the support list!

First newcomer revealed after E3, fan favorite of a series that already is represented in Smash, and her appearance in Smash can promote the most recently released game in their series.

As for an amiibo, I'm curious how that will work. Will there be support for a theoretical Ashley amiibo in Gold, but the figure itself won't come out until later? (IIRC, something similar happened with FE Echoes and the Corrin amiibo.)

I would Imagine that is how it would happen yeah, probably the Wario ones work for now but the theorhetical Ashley Smash one is patched in. Not sure. Best case but unrealstic, She gets 2, one for smash one for Gold.

Alot of us have been thinking a small direct mostly about 3ds and warioware has a fair chance of happening this month, due to almost no info about Warioware Gold being available yet. I'd Imagine if thats the case she could be announced there, but in the end they could drop her randomly any day..

Yeah, here's how I see it going. Nintendo announces they have a Direct in July. Near the end of the Direct, they start focusing on WarioWare Gold. Then when the WarioWare focus ends, they hit us with that "one more thing to show" bit, then segue into the Ashley Smash trailer.

I'd say that makes the most sense if they decide to reveal her then. If anything, the fact I'm thinking there'll be at least one newcomer every month (and maybe one new echo fighter on certain months) could give us an increased chance on seeing her.
