Ashley in Crazy Galaxy is still gloomy... Arcade Bunny described her as the scary loner the other girls don't get along with.

While I don't like to look *too* deep into stuff, it very well *could* be.

Not trying to put a damper on Ashley's deserved spot in the lineup at this point, but I think if she's in, she's one of the less major reveals Nintendo will have in terms of new characters for Smash. I know her hype has increased substantially and she has a large fan base as just as a character on her own, but I don't think she is the megaton that Ridley was, King K. Rool could be, or that any third parties would be.

She fits more of the "filler" newcomer in peoples eyes, so I don't expect quite as much fanfare to her reveal as others. There would definitely be a certain subset of people upset at this "rando" in Smash sort of thing. Again, I totally support her and hate having to say it that way. It's just I don't know if they save her for that late in the Smash cycle, and if Simon Belmont is in Smash Ultimate I'd almost bet money he would take the October character reveal date. Though if anything, that might bold well for a confirmation next month to go with WarioWare Gold?

All true. Ashley's pretty comparatively big now, but she's still going to be some rando to most Smash fans. I could see them doing it earlier, to keep striking while the iron is hot, etc.

Not that I particularly disagree, but people tend to have a region-centric bias. Little Mac was an exciting reveal for the western fanbase, but was a rather lukewarm reveal in Japan. Ashley's not a huge name in the West, but she does have a rather notable fanbase in Japan. The way I've seen it is that the major reveals will be based on the ballot. The West gets Ridley. Japan Gets Ashley. and K Rool gets in as the overall front runner.

Oh I’m aware of that fact. I know she’d be a bigger reveal for Japan overall given her following. That said, she still never was top of those polls either based upon the all too famous results of the Smash ballot that we saw King K Rool take the top in Japan. I just don’t think she’s as megaton a character is all.

That would be ideal though to see reps that excite regions. Mostly cause I’m bias and want to see King K Rool and Ashley in alongside Ridley.

Those guys who make the Honest Trailers said it best

The team who make the WarioWare and Rhythm heaven games also were behind the Nintendo Badge Arcade. It's safe to say they plan on doing more with Ashley.

Still no deconfirm. Feels good. Badge arcade bunny looks really good in smash, and his assist trophy looks fun. I'm glad it's got representation. Makes the popular girls from that game more likely, even if by a tiny bit.

I can't find and update for the 22nd on the blog. During the Smash 4 days I remember we had an update each business day. Does Sakurai just update it when he feels like it?

She's not currently on any of my want lists but I mean she may as well be because if she gets in I'm going to ugly happy-cry.

I like how the discussion went from if Ashley were to get in Smash to When will Ashley be in Smash!

Looking it up, the 3ds direct/yokai watch rumor is at least half true. Id believe a July 3ds direct with Ashley.

It would be nice to have a character reveal each month until the release of the game. It could coincide with various game releases while allowing SSBU to maintain it's hype and that would mean a faire amount of new faces, while not being to much.

And July would therefore be a perfect spot for Ashley, with the Warioware Gold release while being a "lesser reveal" (compared to Ridley), leaving room for some highly requested character (such as K.Rool for example), building up the newcomer hype progressively.

I'd be down with a character reveal every month. I'm not expecting it, but it'd be sick.

Actually, now that I think about it, Sakurai will need to make sure he maintains the hype until December, so it's more possible than I think.

The lack of 3DS content from the E3 direct did cause some people to question the support for the 3DS in the following year. I did find an article from IGN with an interview where Reggie Fils-Aime stated they will continue to announce more games for the system in the coming months. I'd like to think a July Direct is on it's way.

Usually Nintendo covers the games they announce at least twice before it's released. WarioWare Gold seems like it's a big release for the 3DS this year. I still felt like they held back on the WarioWare Gold content back in the March direct and that there is still more info over the game Nintendo wants to cover. Having Yokai Watch along side it in the direct would make sense indicating the 3DS is still being supported.

Great to know others wish to see Diamond City's adorable little witch! :3
Maybe our dreams will come true, guys...!
When I played WarioWare Smooth Moves or Game and Wario, Ashley was always the one to catch my attention the most, and she'd be pretty awesome in smash!

Having been an Ashley fan ever since her first appearance back in 2005, it's absolutely fantastic to see how much her support has grown over the years. To all of the naysayers that don't think she has a chance of becoming playable in Smash 5.............GET OVER IT!

She has a very solid case this time around. Take it like a man and accept it!

This.
I'm not saying she's 100% guaranteed, but she's got more of a chance than people think.
