Just speculation due to Evo and WarioWare Gold's release. If any date is good to announce Ashley, this or October would be fine. If Ashley is still unconfirmed of anything, I'll feel relieved. I need this hype to last as long as it can, though waiting for October reveal would be hard

Smash 4: Only Ashley's Brawl remix returns, gets brand-new Japanese remix, appears as an assist trophy.

For those who don’t know someone pointed out that all of the costumes may have not been shown off, since Little Mac used to have 16 costumes and is now down to 8.

Yo! Thanky! And yeah, thought the post I made was edited, but I meant the American version of Nintendo Versus revealing Wario. Already know the Japanese version has revealed the trailer for Wario on their Twitter, which gets my hopes up. Also, must've accidentally typed out "Invitational." xD Apologies, but yeah, loving to see how well the dots are starting to connect, and I do hope for some reveal. Ashley is a great character, and I'm sure her playstyle will be interesting for Ultimate

I uh, fail to see how that’s worse as it would mean she just didn’t get the upgrade treatment... Like isn’t her not in effectively the same result and disappointment? It’s better than a Mii costume if you’re an assist trophy at the very least.

I don’t think it spells the end for her necessarily if she isn’t revealed within the next month (certainly not dead in the water with just this week). There is still October after all (But if we DO have Simon Belmont I expect him then). I’d say it hurts her chances if we don’t get a reveal in the next couple of weeks since Nintendo tends to do a bit of cross promotion.

Nah because character reveals don't always have to coincide with new game releases and so. Maybe Sakurai doesn't want to reveal in early August and will do a reveal mid to late this month.

Nahh, they rarely tie newcomers with game releases even if some believe so. It happens pretty randomly and mainly in Directs and whatnot. Even if the timing now would sort of be ideal, marketing/promotion-wise in regard to WarioWare Gold, if she's not shown, the odds of her making/not making it remain pretty much the same.

If she is getting revealed tomorrow or in a Direct later this month, I fully expect a trailer similar to Rosalina or Bowser Jr.

I'm not getting my hopes up, but tomorrow or an August Direct would be the perfect time to reveal her, or potentially an October Halloween themed event where she's revealed along with Simon Belmont.

Even if we don't get a trailer, and she's not confirmed as AT tomorrow, there's still hope.

EVO is a hot spot for reveals from Capcom, Namco, ASW and maybe some smaller scale FG developers. Nintendo is not one to do reveals there, so I wouldn't get your hopes up for anything Smash related.

Yes, but the games at EVO are decided by the tournament itself. The companies don't really have a say besides allowing it/not allowing it.

I think my reception of the possibility of Ashley being an Assist Trophy again depends entirely on who the other newcomers are. So far, we've got Ridley, who was my second most wanted, which is a nice start. But Ashley is my most wanted, so it's going to take quite a few characters that I think are really cool to make up for her disconfirmation.

He has no reason not to give Ashley a chance. She's popular, Nintendo has been promoting her (which is odd for a seemingly random WarioWare character), and Smash would be a great test of that popularity for a potential spin off game of her own.

I have never been so up upset about the deconfirmation of a character until her AT reveal in Sm4sh. I really don't want to experience that again.

It would be cool if Sakurai added her in and adopted her like he did to Pit.

I would love to see what Sakurai could do with a Wario Land or Ashley game.

Come to think of it, what I would really love would be a Luigi's Mansion x Ashley's Mansion crossover game. The two of them hunting ghosts and demons in a series of mansions would be a great concept for a game.

Which is kinda why I'm hoping Luigi is involved in Ashley's reveal trailer if she makes it in. It would be the perfect fit since they both have a haunted mansion theme going.
