This blog is gonna be short. But, it's just a small thing that made my day.

I got my wisdom teeth pulled today. Went well. Feeling great. I've just been sitting around, making sure to take my meds and to eat soft foods that won't hurt me.
I'm sitting on the computer, working on a drawing, when my aunt says hello from the bottom of the stairs. I get up and go to say hi when she hands me some flowers and an entire box of popsicles. It was such a small little gesture of kindness, but it made me so happy. I seriously wanted to cry (and no, it's not the meds making me emotional).
It's those small things in life that really seem to make it all worth it, in my opinion.

I'm a big fan of the little things.

I like to appreciate all the minor things in life as I go about my day, it's one of my tactics for keeping sane.

I mean I don't know how sane staring up at cloud and stars is for example, but I do it anyway. Also I find any decent gesture from someone to be a momentous occasion, since I'm not famous for my optimism when it comes to people.

Looking up at stars and clouds is the best. It gives you a little feeling of freedom, imo.
@Metal~Mario: Depends from person to person. I'm feeling pretty good, honestly. Im only taking the meds as a precautionary. Some people are at 100% the day after, some people take weeks to feel better.

How do you know if you need wisdom teeth pulled out?

Usually your dentist will tell you.
Sometimes you don't need em removed.
2 of mine were impacted, so they wouldnt grow in and theyd just mess up my other teeth, so they were taken out. The other 2 were spossed to be impacted...but they grew in. Had to get all 4 taken out since they didn't fit

If you can't enjoy the small things in life, you had better have big things to live for.

Really big things. Quite frankly, those do not happen very often.

(: small read but definitely a good one. if everyone appreciated the little things in life, then the world would be a better place. i've learned to do it, for the sake of my sanity / happiness as well as others.

august o nine is too good.

i'm definitely writing a poem right now called 'the little things'. thanks for the inspiration!

your "little writing" is too true.
i remember having to look for the little things at more than one point in my life to keep me from committing suicide
just tonight, i had to tell one of my friends that i didn't want to date her, even if i did like her, needless to say, she was upset. i walked her home and we just lied on her driveway looking up at the stars and just talked.
we talked about our place in life, what we feel about things, and the little things that make us happy
it was great, i can honestly say that if you are with someone and just look up to the sky you just feel so relaxed and calm that nothing else matters.

I agree! That was very nice of your aunt, too! Hope the wisdom teeth weren't too painful.
It's just too bad that not that many people are appreciative anymore. The little things can make you feel so much more happy, so great, and it will help others feel great as well!

“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.”

I know what you mean. I got a job, and I've been working there for almost a year now. Whenever I go in, the people I work with simply smile and greet me with hellos and such, but it really impacts me. It's nice to know that people are there to care for you, ya know. The little things that people do for you matter the most, trust me.

That was really nice of your aunt to do. Personally, I feel great when somebody does even the smallest act of kindness for me. I know that someone is thinking of me, and it's enough to brighten up my day.

In an alternate universe.
Since nearly dying out the front of my friend's house because of a diabetic attack nearly 4-5 months ago and then being put into hospital for 3 weeks, I've come to appreciate everything a lot more. I really have to thank my girlfriend for sticking by me though. I would've went insane from being in a hospital for that long had she not been there with me.
(at that point I didnt know what was happening, I didnt know I was diabetic)

Yeah, I'm the same way. I always acknowledge the things that lots of people find insignificant, because the best days (in my opinion) are when all the small things add up in your favor.
