Original Thread Here: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=320283

There has been some changes to this forum since I was last here. I noticed that we no longer have a smash events subforum but rather an online smash events subforum. Since The Legacy of MELEE-FC is not an online event, I figured this was the next best thing to post this thread in. If a Mod could confirm to me that having this thread in this location is fine, I'll remove this text.

ANYWAYS, I thought it would be good to have a MELEE-FC discussion specifically for Smash 64 so we can see who all will be going in this community. When I hosted the Genesis 2 thread (even though I didn't attend) for the 64 community, it received enough replies to make itself a worthy thread, and since MELEE-FC will be just as big, if not bigger, then I see no reason in making another thread.

MELEE-FC10R
Legacy of Melee, Reunion of 10 Years, Goku Really is the Strongest!!!
August 12-14, 2012

MELEE-FC will be an international Super Smash Brothers Conference and Tournament taking place in South Bend, Indiana. It will feature Super Smash Brothers Melee Singles, Teams, and Crew events, and will also run major tournaments for Brawl, N64 Smash, and Project M. As always, we will be utilizing the MELEE-FC Pools Elimination system for Melee singles to ensure that every participant gets a good number of tournament matches in for their entry. There are no two-and-outs at FC!

VENUE
MELEE-FC has always been known for its venue, the Trinity Evangelical Free Church. With the transition into a new venue, we are eager to highlight the advantages that this new location provides.
The Waterford Estates
http://www.waterfordestateslodge.com/south-bend
52890 Indiana State Road 933
South Bend, IN 46637

So basically, here you can post whether or not you plan on going, and if you are at least 95% sure you will be able to go, then I will add you to the list. You can also discuss side event plans and such since not everyone here plays Melee and/or Brawl.

Confirmed list of attendees:

Brawl, N64, and Project M are all confirmed side events. I find it silly that brawl is put with 64 and Project M.

I agree, but you don't play 64, so why are you here? I know I haven't played 64 since Springfield formed a crew, but I never remember you playing at all.

So the real question is this. What are you doing stalking me?

11% chance I might come, which is fuzzy and more like 6% I will come. Semi sad face because there is 18% chance I will be at Vegas and 71% chance I will be at work (sad face).

Will any of you big names (Sensei, Boom, Jel) be more likely to come if a no-named noob on the internet calls you out and challenges you?

A challenge wont get me to go out there. Maybe if you payed for everyone to fly to this then we would all say 100% going lol.

Bayesian Probability. Seriously, though, it depends on the degree of no-named noobishness and the obnoxiousness of the call out and the amount of money on the line.

Yo SenSUCK, I wuz watchin sum vidz of yu and Isia (some guy I've never even heard of). He hurt yu so bad I herd yo *** cryin thru the video. Come to FC, and the same thing'll happen. I bet all my friendz can woop you silly, boy. I know this becuz we play FFAs with all items on very high. You only play against one other player. Yu ain't got no chance. I'd put at LEAST $10 on me destroying you. Also, Ness is the best character.

Lets see you are going to have to put down much more then that. Try more like $450 witch would get you a 12 character battle and maybe he would show you how to play online or something for that but who knows.

As long as either sensei or valoem goes, I'm down to go. Convincing valoem shouldn't be hard. He loves road trips to middle America. One time, he repeatedly begged me to drive him to middle America and then just arbitrarily drop him off somewhere out there. It was about 5am when he asked, so I didn't; but I think anyone who, in the middle of the night, expresses that dire a need to drive to middle America is certainly devoted to those sorts of road trips. Strangely devoted.

...Yeah, I'm not sure if Indiana is actually considered by most to be part of middle America. All I know is that valoem said something to the effect of, "C'mon man, just drive me to middle America and drop me off in Indiana or something." Actually, I think he also mentioned the impetus for his request was going to FC previously and really liking Indiana.

tell valoem he's weird. Also it'd be sick if you guys showed up. Now that I think about it, there isn't much that could stop me from going to this

Roadtripping to middle america is hella fun. Though if there is any chance I will be going, I will go by plane and probably just for the day that has SSB64 (hopefully its all in one day).

It would be alot of fun to see everyone and play again. With this being a Melee thing im sure I could get BladeWise to go and play SSB. This could be the next big thing as we wait for when the next Apex is.

How was Apex for SSB64? I heard many people complain about how bad that tournament was and I'm interested in seeing what the SSB64 people thought about it.

Uh it was the most hype 64 tourney as far as I can tell, I don't see how you can say it was bad. People complained about Apex because of Melee GFs and being salty because of international beating the US at literally every smash event except 64 teams rofl, but it was still considered a good event

I've heard from many people who went said that it was the worst national they have ever been to. Apparently the tournament organization was very stressful and awful, which is enough to make a tournament suck. I wasn't there so I can't confirm anything, but I'm just going by the words of about 5 people.

the "main" events were perceived as poorly organized. It had nothing to do with melee GF's or with international salt, where the **** did you get all that?

That said, the 64 event was well-run and hype as far as I've heard.
