You can if you want to but I wouldn't recommend it honestly. The tourney is just outside of Atlantic City, so it's almost as long a haul as Zenith was.

Man, Dragonlord is ****ing ridiculous. I just fought him at level 55. He's doing so much damage that I have to Omniheal every turn. He wiped out my warriors one by one with a crit each turn, and on the 5th turn (I tried a Zing in vain on the 4th) my Priest had 78 HP and was alone. I Fullhealed that turn and he got me back down to ~350, so the next turn I gave him a Poker and did a desperation Multithrust, which killed him on the last thrust. **** was intense.

Dragonlord learns disruptive wave at level 57 which will make him much much harder  My party is nearly fully optimal for this battle, so there's not much more I can do at this point except switch to a different strategy when 3 Glads + Priest stops working.

Lmao at least this time when cmart drives up there, he won't have 3 other guys in his car :p.

Me and Redd are going to Sypher's today and he said he'd be setting up a stream for Project M. Not sure at what time though, but I'll ask him to post the link here too in case anyone is interested in watching it.

Cool cool. I'll try to catch it but I'm going to BWW and hanging out with Chuck tonight so I don't know if I'll be able to.

Yeah I'm prolly meeting with my dnd group tonight so I can't catch it either.

As for CoT5 - it looks like a three hour drive from work. So it'd really depend on how tired I'd be after work, but I think it's doable. And since it's a 2-day tournament, missing out on half of the first day wouldn't be that bad.

Good stuff Redd. Stream was fun as ****. Would do again in a heartbeat.

JCz, do we really have to go to CoT5? It sounds like a real hassle for cmart to try to make it, and it'll mean that I have to drive much longer than usual since we're probably going to be taking my car there if we go due to better mileage. Plus if we stay here, we can probably get UltiMario and maybe Kaiser to join us too (though to be fair, he may or may not be able to come to CoT5 as well). Is Chibo's favor really that important? It just seems like we'll have a better time hanging around Westminster than going to a Brawl tourney where there's probably not a ton of market for P:M.

I'm driving, don't worry. The favor is that I'm bringing ~10 TVs that VGBC can't transport. They really need them. He's paying me to do this and providing us with a hotel room (to share with the VGBC guys so I need to talk to them and see how much room we have in the room). And since we're not entering the Brawl tourney and the P:M tourney is free to enter, it should be a very cheap/profitable trip for us. We can have a Westminster smashfest any time. This is a special occasion.

Lol don't change plans cause it'll be inconvenient for me. Wether I end up going or not, I don't want my at times ****ty work schedule (lol saturdays) to determine what events we (as a crew) can and cannot go to.

Did you guys save the stream? I missed the whole thing unfortunately (BWW, then Chuck's scooter wouldn't start so that was a whole big ordeal, then we played Scott Pilgrim) but I would really like to watch it.

Yeah, it should all be under my account for a while.

Oh wow you were there? I remember that tourney because that was my first top 10 at a 50+ person tourney. Apparently I beat Kirbstir. Legit. He used to beat me in like every Melee tourney.

cmart and I were going to the same tourneys in like 06-07 so we got you beat :p

OK guys we really need to work out the details for the CoT5 trip ASAP. Who is coming? TH, cmart, anyone else? Chibo is providing a room for us to share with VGBC, which is GIMR, Aposl, Bio, and P~S. So if we're gonna have 4 people too I'm thinking we should get our own room, but if it's just the 3 of us maybe it won't be so bad.

Why were you awake at that time?!

I didn't really enter the competitive smash scene until pretty much that tourney, so I don't really have much of a story to brag about. :/

I was thinking about coming along, JC, if someone could take me.

When would we be leaving, and when would we get back?

Also, where is this tourney?

Leaving early Saturday morning, coming back Sunday night. It's just outside of Atlantic City. I need a definite answer ASAP because if you come we're gonna need our own hotel room.

Hey guys, I was digging around Smashboards and I managed to find out one of the earliest places we were at without knowing of each others' existences.

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=201678

Very, very long time ago.
I can ditto JCaez post almost entirely, i also got top 10 at a 50+ tournament and took chillin to game 3 and beat kirbstir and betazealot and got a free win vs kaiser who left. I lost to kenny first round though, how sad.

That was a great event! I wish Cyberden could still host stuff.

**** yea cyberden was so cash. That site prolly housed my first tourny win against a real pro, mad memories. How come they stopped? They closed down or something?

Yeah they went out of business, like most of those places. It's just not a good business model unfortunately.

Yeahhhh a lot of startup, and most people have a good computer they own if they're gamers anyways, so that limits sales to like:

Randoms. Birthday Parties? And like people who need a good place to practice or **** (Counterstrike)

Two of my friends would frequent Cyberden often for their ITG machine. Sometimes they asked me to go with them, and I said that I had all I needed at home, so what difference does Cyberden make? And they replied, "the ambience." Other than tourneys I only saw like 4 people in there at a time. I guess this area isn't rich enough to be able to throw away money like that. Oh wait, Hoco was the third richest county in '08. Well then, I suppose it has to do with our low population density, hence their move to CA.

Oddly enough there is no schedule in the tournament thread. So I guess we'll try to get there around noonish. Let's leave from my house at 8:30.

I guess this way, if the tournament has no start time, no one can call him out when it starts 7 hours late :p

Oh nice. You may actually beat me to my house if you leave at 2 haha. Why don't you meet me at GIMR's house at 4 and help me load the TVs in my truck? It's in Laurel. Then we can eat at this awesome restaurant I know in Laurel that I never get a chance to go to. They have the best queso dip in the world, for serious.

If that sounds good to you I'll text you GIMR's address.

It blows Moe's queso away, trust me. It may seem awkward at first, because it comes in a big styrofoam cup with a weird stack of very large tortilla chips, but it's amazing.

Oh I should probably mention, I'm gonna need $40 from everybody for gas + hotel.

We're not fitting 8 people in one room, especially not with Count Kaiser and Bio. No offense, it just ain't happening. So I reserved another room.

Reminders: cmart, my house at 8:30, and Count, Owings Mills at 9.
