I'm sure anyone here has already seen the Genesis 2 videos uploaded from AJP Anton, and I think our community could step it up in recording Melee. Even without expensive equipment, there are several little things he does that make viewing a lot better.
Take a look at one of BEAST 2's sets he just uploaded: Zgetto + Faab vs Pepito + IVP
-He often has every major set of the tournament.
-Up to 480p for players that like quality, on top of his already stunning and clear visuals.
-Excellent audio; it's never fuzzy or out of sync.
-He fixes any small errors as best he can like dropped frames, etc. One really cool thing for Genesis 2 sets he did was use the live footage put up by others, to replace any frame errors.
-The videos are extended well passed where the set ends so that you won't know where the match ends based on the length of the video.
-Entire sets are uploaded, rather than separate matches. HBox vs Armada's set is on Youtube at nearly 40 minutes.
-Little to no wasted time in between matches, it's always straight to Melee.
-He often has linked annotations that go to each match if you want to see later ones, instead of having to search for them, which is absolutely amazing in this crew battle.
-One really cool thing he did with this set and other Teams sets at BEAST 2 was having live footage between the matches of the players. So not only do you get to see Zgetto in Melee, you also get to see him in real life.
-For those that are quality fiends, he has a site of TONS of European videos all in the highest quality possible that you can get via download.
Now obviously, not everyone has the money/equipment/experience to record flawless videos and make sure to cover every single set, and it's a lot of work to do what he has with his site, but a lot of these things in the list can be done by anyone with just a little extra time put into editing the videos, and when the videos have hundreds and thousands of views, it makes a big difference.
By doing this, it gives the community higher quality videos, attracts newer players a lot more, and makes the Melee community a lot more professional looking. I think it would be incredibly beneficial for the community if video uploaders try do do some of these things for matches they upload. :D
