He's a cameo character and accessory. Pit is being brought back because he was actually in a game (don't bring up the MKDS argument). What do you bring ROB back from?

As interesting as a R.O.B comeback would be, it's unlikly. Also,

E3 2009-R.O.B appears in a new video game where he must save hardcore gamers from the evil forces of Cammie and her "cute", pixelated, casual game puppy.

Maybe R.O.B.'ll get an ultra-hardcore franchise, where he's on a vendetta against all of the Nintendo characters who have become famous since he was left to die. It'd be a post-apocalyptic Smash Bros. FPS.

R.O.B. is back. And this time, he's brought weapons.

E3 2009: Nintendo announces R.O.B. Peripheral for the Wii Remote.

I just called it.

They had better announce something amazing next year cause this year's Nintendo conference was lame. I think they had a reason for reviving ROB in Brawl. Otherwise they would've made him an assist trophy like that guy from Punch Out (he should've been playable). Besides if they can bring Pit back then anything is possible.

I think you hit the nail on the head there. Except for the ill-fated Ness, every off-center character placed into a Smash Bros. game has either gotten a new game or a revival of an old one.

Putting Marth and Roy in Melee brought the venerable Fire Emblem franchise stateside. Even the Ice Climbers got another shot with the re-release of their game for the GBA.

It bodes well for R.O.B.

As for Ness I heard that they were going to put Earthbound on virtual console. With today's technology just imagine what they can do for ROB?

Hey I heard they're making a movie featuring ROB it's called I ROB. Featuring Will Smith as Sakurai.

Even though that's not real it would be awesome.

Actually I think ROB should get his own franchise cause he's an interesting character who hasn't had his story told.

Nah, I don't think ROB will get its own video game. They only had 2 games for ROB and he wasn't even a character in them. Just served as a 2nd player.

According to Gamescoop, nothing's going to happen for ROB- he took the money from Brawl and got high and now he reads books to little children as community service.

Am I the only one who listens to Gamescoop and TRL? I know that sounds stupid but it was funny as hell if you heard the podcast.

SCOOP!

Oh. Yeah. I don't normally listen to TRL, but I do listen to Podcast Beyond, the Nintendo Voice Chat, and Game Scoop pretty religiously. Really good source of entertainment AND information.

I didn't know who ROB was when I saw the Japanese leak, I didn't want to know, now I know, and I still don't like him.
He is a very formidable force when it comes to fans.
I mean, nobody really asked for him, but after seeing how good he was (an attempt to make people like him by Sakurai himself I bet), he has several mainers and fans.
Plus, more and more people argue that he deserved a place in Brawl.
I really don't think he deserved a place anywhere.
I would love to have some variety.
But ROB just looks like he wouldn't be able to fight.
He's too......emotionless.
And his victory poses anger me to no end.
He's more suited for a Japanese anime.
You know, the stupid ones that practically nobody watches.

Sorry all you ROB fans, but I don't care if he saved every game company in the world from horrible sales, he doesn't deserve to be in Brawl (he could've been an assist. After all, he's only a toy, but they just had to make him larger and give him a moveset....) and he doesn't deserve a future.
*Pulls out nova beam*

Stating opinion here, don't mind me.

I am well aware.
Doesn't mean that a better character couldn't have taken his place in the Brawl roster.
The thing is, R.O.B. isn't a character at all, he's a peripheral. Try finding a better peripheral to take his place.

CHALLENGER APPEARS: Super Game Boy?

CHALLENGER APPEARS: Power Glove?

CHALLENGER APPEARS: Nintendo Gamecube Broadband Adapter?

Imo the Duck Hunt gun would've made a better character than ROB.

I don't care who takes his place.
The stereotypical fat-guy-in-basement would work better than an emotionless toy.
And what's worse, his Final Smash reminds me of an egg beater.....I HATE EGGS.
A LOT.

Geussing you didn't play SSE.

If you did you would know that ROB and R.O.Bs aren't emotional*edit*-less beings

Ever play SSE? What you said pretty much follows the storyline of the SSE verbatim.

On another note, I honestly cannot see R.O.B. with his own franchise, as his potential is limited by his stature, and robots usually do not fend well as leading roles (with the exception of some games like Metal Arms - which by the way, needs a sequel).

Well ROB did have an important role in Subspace. The main thing is that ROB has potential to make great games.
So we Play a Robot that sets up Shadow nukes? AWESOME!!!

Lets do that in the Pokemon anime world *muwhahahahahahaha*

But we really didn't figure outs R.O.B's importance till 80% of SSE. Though if they made ROB do tasks to help other Nintendo characters maybe....wait a minute thats Captain Rainbow's job.
