Hey guys, here is something I think all of you would like to see. I am gonna put it in spoilers because it might be spoiling some bosses that appear in the game.
Edit: Just in case, sorry if this is something that was already revealed before, I have not really kept track with Lip news.

While yes there isn't anything new about Lip or her series (Thanatos spirit is from KI, Cordelia spirit is from FE, and Flare Spirit is from Custom Robo.), I find it interesting that she's named Lip instead of her usual Rip naming for her Spirit, I'm unsure about her outfit in ACNL is named Rip or the naming of the item in this iteration of Smash but it may hint that they are willing to let Lip be seen overseas as seen with her Spirit. We also have seen Panel de Pon listed first a couple of times when representing universes without a playable character in the other section, she's not the first one listed in the other spirits though.

There's another character that can equip Lip's Stick, it is Agitha from Zelda: Twilight Princess
This meant, they could've easily used someone else as an alternative to use in the game to equip Lip's Stick and ignore Lip entirely and not make her appear in the game as a Spirit. Its lucky for Lip that they didn't use someone else to equip Lip's Stick like Furil in Brawl without Lip herself.

No, the Spirits don't get a model. Kapp'n was used to sail a boat when there's water but there was no model of him, Lapras did get its own model when sailing on it probably because there's already an existing model.

I'd also suggest more people to call Pokemon Puzzle Challenge, Planet Puzzle League, Dr. Mario & Puzzle League and Tetris Attack as Pokemon de Panepon, Panel de Pon DS, Dr. Mario & Panel de Pon and Yoshi no Panepon respectively to associate the games with the actual series.
The international titles dissociates it from the series its actually based on, while the Japanese ones use an ACTUAL BRAND NAME.
This will help repair the brand name to its rightful owner
Pokemon Puzzle Challenge -> Pokemon de Panepon
Planet Puzzle League -> Panel de Pon DS
Dr. Mario & Puzzle League -> Dr. Mario & Panel de Pon
Tetris Attack -> Yoshi no Panepon.

The best thing about all of this is that Lip is in many places in the game: Garbage Block, Item, Mii costume, Spirit, Song

She's been getting more and more support lately, but back in the Brawl and, to some extent, SSB4 days I know there were a tragic number of people who didn't want Lip in the game because she's a "loli" (she isn't) and they didn't want people to draw porn of her now.

(So every young, cute girl is loli-bait now. Good to know. Darn, I guess we have to take Leaf out now.)

As far as the spirit deconfirmation theory goes, the only thing I’d be weary about is that apparently out of every Mario spirit in the game, Piranha Plant doesn’t have one, and it’s a DLC character.
I hope this means nothing, of course, but it’s important to keep this note in mind as it may actually mean that if a possible DLC character has no spirit, they may be in.
(At the same time tho, Daisy has a spirit and is a fighter, so who knows?)

They do believe she'll never be playable in Smash indefinitely because of all of the brand damage they did internationally, and her being Japan-only character, and the Lip's Stick seemingly always going to appear which lowers her chances when its already low.
She's seen as very unrealistic overall. Overall, those are the most relevant responses about Lip and seeing nothing special about her.

The cute character trait isn't something that would be offered niche to the roster. The rest of niches are fine but it can also pose a problem to her too.
Its actual the only discussion I see of Lip outside of this Smashboards thread, and the rest are just all negative.

She's unrealstic to ever be playable from what others said outside of this thread.
They also meant her references mean nothing to the character, it only hurts the characters chances from appearing in the future, the AC one didn't even boost up her relevance and Japan-only character. None of that ever helped her from being familiar to the character in the past.
