Yeah the changes are in the dol. But I didn't think we actually incorporated new cancels in SDR.

And yes that was the only change to plco

Is there any way to make airdodges work like they do in brawl?
Also, is there a way to remove ledge hogging like in smash4?

Huh I just tried it and it doesn't seem to work for me either (tested using Dolphin).
Edit: It works, but only if you swap costumes using the Y button.

Players Can Choose the Same Costume Color for One Character (1.02) [Achilles]
Version ── DOL Offset ────── Hex to Replace ──────────
1.02 ────── 0x25ce2c ──── 4082000c -> 4800000c ────
───────── 0x25a6f4 ───── 4082000c -> 4800000c ────

Add this:
───────── 0x25cd5c ──── 4082000c -> 4800000c ────

I haven't really tested it cuz Dolphin's being all glitchy atm but that should make it work regardless of which button you use to swap costumes.
Thanks, this works perfectly!

Remove Special Messages (1.02, Credits: ???)
To get rid of all those annoying messages that pop up if you used the DOL codes to unlock stuff. I have no clue who originally wrote this code, I just somehow have it in my notes o.O

Some messages still appear, like stage select is now available and trophy unllock stuff, is that just inevitable? Also is there a way to do with along with the code that boots to the CSS? they use the same offset

I just tried this out on Version 1.2 and it works, but I was wondering if there was a way to restart the match in the middle of it (like in Project M) because that would be a hundred times more useful for me than only being able to restart it at the end.

edit: LRAStart to exit the match does work
edit: It does restart the match, but only on the console

Sorry about the double post, but this is my first Gecko code to Dol mod conversion.

This makes the game think that you always have a controller plugged in to specific ports. I recommend that you just use them all if you are going to use one of them

I think Achilles posted a Gecko code that unlocks all trophies/removes special messages and stuff. I'll port it to DOL later.
Also stage select message appearing is weird since it doesn't do that for me. I don't get trophy messages either, I don't think (though I don't believe I have the code to unlock all trophies enabled).

Both of these codes are in the OP of the Gecko codes thread. They're also C2 codes so yeah it wouldn't be too difficult to port them.

Basically the game freezes whenever the code is executed. I can only guess that its because I assumed incorrectly that the registers werent in use and didnt bother clearing them. It works on dolphin though so Im not sure if thats the issue.
Edit: Clearing the registers didn't fix it. I don't really know where to go from here. Anyone have a general idea of what possible causes are so I could have a direction to troubleshoot in.

I've never experienced this problem myself (fortunately) but I'm wondering if it's possibly an issue with the emulator thing you're using on the Wii (like Nintendont or Dios Mios or whatever)? Also what codes are you having trouble with, maybe I'll try it out on my Wii and see if I get the same issue.

The problem was with how dolphin emulated the ram. The 2 copies of it and I mistakenly put a toggle point in the range out side of the gamecubes.

Hey thanks for porting this. It seems like player 3 doesnt work though. Hopefully this is an easy fix. I might look at it later when I get a chance if you don't get to it.

Idk if I updated the main post on the gecko codes thread (will check later), but I redid the spoof controller code a little bit ago with better RAM offsets for a couple players.

Spoof Controllers Player 1 Address: 80376bc0
Value:

Player 2 Address: 80376bd4

Player 3 Address: 80376bf0
Value:

Player 4 Address: 80376c04

.dol mods I could really really use if someone could point me to them / help me on my quest to make the perfect modded version of melee. Please consider helping me, and I will credit everyone who assists me on any part of this project.
I will be editing this and adding more as time goes on.

1. When opening up a CSP SLOT: (photobucket.com/albums/m228/davidd23/CSS_zpsc3124383.png) , instead of the character being selected at random, it always picks Falcon (Think this is only a thing for opening slots that arent HMNs. Same for when you put your Token off to the sides of the screen and it gives you random.

2. Music is always MuteCity.

I just double checked my DOL, and I have the exact change listed on my original post for P3, and it works both on Dolphin and on my wii.

I have no idea why it wouldn't be working for you. The only advice I can give you is to double check that you are using the right version of melee, the right offset and the right hex value. I can pm you a copy of a start.dol with only that modification if you want.

I have a question for anyone who has ever written an ASM code.
How do you go from ASM to a hex value? I know how to go from hex to ASM using dolphin, but I couldn't find how to go the other way. I tried using this: https://code.google.com/p/pyiiasmh/ but I couldn't understand how to install it and there was no tutorial about it.

Same for when you put your Token off to the sides of the screen and it gives you random.

2. Music is always MuteCity.
How to inject ASM codes (ones that start with C2…) into the DOL

You already have an ASM gecko code for the Mute City thing, right?

Very basic but tournament ready DOL
boot to CSS
chracters unlocked
stages and stage select unlocked
random stage is set to the tournament legal ones
no items, 4 stock, 8 minute, team attack ON by default
special messages disabled

https://www.mediafire.com/?h51g1ka24x34ca6

There's a few other iterations i've made/tested that allow for changing rumble at the CSS and other kinda useful stuff but this one is the most basic tournament ready one you can find

thanks to everyone who actually did the work for the codes, I just compiled them into one DOL

Haven't release anything in FOREVER. Hopefully this makes up for it. Right now, there's a limitation with the "stage icon/preview/model id" that's infuriating. If you switch a "top stage" with a "bottom stage" (the stages are grouped in twos), then the stage icon will be incorrect. Looking for a fix but it's probably more realistic just to texture hack the stage icons.
Edit:

How would I go about finding stage hazards and turning them off? There are a few stages that, outside of their hazards, I really enjoy but I have no idea how to find any of these hazards. It seems that some people use an emulator, which I do not.

Hey i can not really understand how to modify the DOL so i can have custom things and the already made dols have things i dont want. Is there a 1.02 DOL with cstick in 1p mode, all characters and stages. Tourney settings( 4 stocks 8 minutes). All i want is a tourney ready melee on my wii but i dont have a memory card and if i understood how to do it myself i would. i just dont care for debug or stage hazards since i have 20XX for that. Sorry if this was already asked/answered

Idk if there is a hex editing guide so:

  • You need a hex editor (HxD is popular and free).
  • Extract the DOL with GCR or equivalent.
  • Open the DOL with your hex editor.
  • Go to the offset mentioned (0x just means it's hexadecimal, don't include that with HxD). The shortcut in HxD is ctrl+g.
  • You should see the original hex in the post now.
  • Paste overwrite (ctrl+b in HxD) or manually type the replacement hex.
  • Save the file and inject it back into your iso.

It is start.dol right? or a different dol. i did start.dol and couldnt find the offset

There is only one dol. The name depends on the program you use but yes GCR uses start.dol.

So to do the above, open your dol, then press ctrl+g, type/paste 168060 and press enter, then type or ctrl+b 60000000.
