I preordered it since KEY was taking preorders only and had to get it through a proxy service that charged for commission, which ended up being $198.18. Then I waited three months and payed $68.72 for shipping through EMS since it was the cheapest method available. So overall $266.90, which is quite a bargain since one visual novel can cost up to $50 - $80 plus shipping.

Sorry, it was preorders only. KEY made only enough for preorders. So your only chance of getting one is going to Yahoo Auctions Japan and search for "KEY 10th". Use a proxy service to buy/bid for you since the Japanese don't ship to other countries. I recommend JAA. Good luck.

I didn't have enough money to preorder it. Makes me sad.

Wow, so it finally came. That KEY memorial box looks so nice.
Sounds like it costed an arm and a leg. Makes me wish I had money for stuff like this right now.

H-I-N-A HI-NA-GI-KU...DAISUKI!! <3 (I can stop listening to Honjitsu, Mankai Watashi Iro! and its variants...)
I would use a Hina avatar as well, but she, unfortunately, doesn't have a hair ribbon... :( (The only thing is that tiny, little hairpin...)

Nice avataaaaaaaaar =D
Haha, thanks. Hinagiku's awesome. :)
Well, I got my K-On! Blu-Ray now. I know the anime isn't the greatest, but I thought it'd be nice to have.
The anime is in 1080p just like my Casshern Blu-Ray. Maybe I should post pics if I can find a way. Although this isn't anywhere close to being as nice as the KEY 10th Memorial Box. XD

I want both, lol. the Memorial Box AND the K-ON! Blu-Ray.

How much did the Blu-Ray cost?

I don't even have a job yet, let alone be able to get one 'cause of schoolwork.

I'm missing out on so much stuff ;_;

Yeah, and the bass is fun. I love slap bass.

EDIT: btw, can we still change usernames? It WAS only available if you had a subscription, but since that's gone... lol.

So are you watching season 1 separate, or combined with season 2? If the former, then what order are you watching it in?
I would suggest broadcast order if you're taking the former route. But regardless, once you reach Endless Eight, tell me, and I'll tell you how you should watch it to get the best quality from it (unless you don't mind watching very similar episodes 7 times over, and like to know the Brigade's fashion sense, then you don't need to say when you reach E8).

And this is my 1000th post!! (And it's regarding Haruhi, so I think it was worth the epic number.)

Melancholy of haruhi suzumiya. At part where Kyon finds out about the whole haruhi time block thing from the ESPer time traveller etc.
That doesn't help, as both seasons are called "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya", officially. And the episode you're on doesn't help, either.

First thing's first, I hope you are watching it using a.f.k.'s subs for everything. Second, I hope you're not streaming them. I suggest downloading Hitsuji's release (it uses a.f.k.'s subs) for the first season if you are not using a Mac.

Okay, so what has the episode order been for you? A, B, C, or D?

A

  1. The Adventure of Mikuru Asahina Episode 00
  2. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya I
  3. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya II
  4. The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya
  5. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya III
  6. Remote Island Syndrome Part 1
  7. Mystérrique Sign
  8. Remote Island Syndrome Part 2
  9. Someday in the Rain
  10. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya IV
  11. The Day of Sagittarius
  12. Live Alive
  13. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya V
  14. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya VI
B

  1. The Adventure of Mikuru Asahina Episode 00
  2. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya I
  3. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya II
  4. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya III
  5. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya IV
  6. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya V
  7. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya VI
  8. The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya
  9. Mystérique Sign
  10. Remote Island Syndrome Part 1
  11. Remote Island Syndrome Part 2
  12. Live Alive
  13. The Day of Sagittarius
  14. Someday in the Rain
C

  1. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya I
  2. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya II
  3. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya III
  4. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya IV
  5. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya V
  6. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya VI
  7. The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya
  8. Mystérique Sign
  9. Remote Island Syndrome Part 1
  10. Remote Island Syndrome Part 2
  11. The Adventure of Mikuru Asahina Episode 00
  12. Live Alive
  13. The Day of Sagittarius
  14. Someday in the Rain
D

  1. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya I
  2. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya II
  3. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya III
  4. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya IV
  5. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya V
  6. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya VI
  7. The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya
  8. Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody
  9. Mystérique Sign
  10. Remote Island Syndrome Part 1
  11. Remote Island Syndrome Part 2
  12. Endless Eight (Loop 1)
  13. Endless Eight (Loop 15,498)
  14. Endless Eight (Loop 15,499)
  15. Endless Eight (Loop 15,513)
  16. Endless Eight (Loop 15,521)
  17. Endless Eight (Loop 15,524)
  18. Endless Eight (Loop 15,527)
  19. Endless Eight (Loop 15,532)
  20. The Adventure of Mikuru Asahina Episode 00
  21. Live Alive
  22. The Day of Sagittarius
  23. Someday in the Rain
  24. The Vanishment of Haruhi Suzumiya I
  25. The Vanishment of Haruhi Suzumiya II
  26. The Vanishment of Haruhi Suzumiya III
  27. The Vanishment of Haruhi Suzumiya IV
  28. The Vanishment of Haruhi Suzumiya V
A= Broadcast Order (The best order to watch it in for the very first time, IMO.)
B=DVD Order (A good amount of people watch it in this order their first time, due to not realizing that there exist an order difference and just going with whatever's there.)
C=Chronological Order (first season only)
D=Chronological Order (both seasons combined)

I would suggest watching it in A's order, then realize that the broadcast previews has Haruhi saying the episode number in Chronological Order while Kyon says the episode number in Broadcast Order, and make sense of the thing. (Order A puts the climax at the end, instead of a filler-like episode at the end of season 1.) Then, after figuring out the story, then watch the new episodes in season 2 to fill in the gaps.
But if you already are viewing then in either Order B or C, but haven't reached The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya VI, yet, then I would advise you to just switch to Order D. You can easily switch to that order without much trouble. If you choose to watch all the Endless Eight episodes, that's fine. But if you want the story to match the novel the best it can, then do the following (the story in the novel only has 15,498 loops, FYI): once you reach Endless Eight (Loop 15,498), watch until about 21:40, where Kyon says "And soon enough, it was August 30th." Then, skip to Endless Eight (Loop 15,532) and start from about 18:45, where you see Haruhi crossing out something on a piece of paper (and when they mention any of the loop numbers after that, just subtract 34 from those numbers :dizzy:). If you view it this way, season two will be like a great 8-episode season instead of a bad, dragged out 14-episode season.
Also, the Vanishment episodes won't start airing until September 10th, so it'll give you time to catch up until you watch what is, in my opinion, the best story in the series as it airs.

PS: I wish this was my 1000th post; it would have been much more worthy... :(
