i am organising some tournaments at uni, there are aload of noobs who think they pwn, gonna set it up so i can take all their money in the pub (we have a tv/ps2 in the bar.. im gonna get a cube in there) then im not gonna let coey play , cos he might beat me :D

Well basically guys its looking something like this tournament wise :

***UK Season 06/07***

AUTUMN -> BB hosting Anarchy Rules Oct

WINTER -> GMC hosting Yeovil Tourney Jan/Feb

SPRING -> SDB hosting Newcastle tourney Mar/Apr

SUMMER - > .......................................

So basically as you can see we've already got three tournaments lined up : )

I don't know if this is really phiesable but it's an idea: What about having the Summer tournament in London? Everyone's been waiting ages to have one plus it'd mean a tournament in in all four 'corners' of England.

Yup yup BB thats a great idea. In fact, ive already been trying to approach Kimmelman about looking into getting a london crew interested in hosting a summer tourney in london.

That way they have like a year to plan it AND londons easily accessible for foreigners. If they could get venue and housing sorted you could look at having a really large tourney come summer 07!! which wud b erather nice to cap the season off.

hell yeah, gettin down to london would b a pain but the interest n attendance rate would b much higher i imagine, i think tht it would probably become a centre of annual attention for smash(melee n brawl) players, if done right

Mate, if your wanting to hack it in the UK community get used to travelling, pretty much all tournaments will be a travel for you. Your just v. lucky you've popped up and theres a tourney nearby. Normally that wudnt be the case : p

There's a point: Brawl. How would we all get enough Wii's and copies of Brawl for a tournament? Gamecubes and Gamecube stuff is cheap but Wii stuff will be mucho expensive.

If were being realistic brawl isnt going to be released till Xmas '07. Nintendo have already released titles that are being released from first day till spring 07. There was no brawl. I hardly see Nintendo releasing it in the summer, itll be a autumn/xmas release to pull in sales.

Therefore were going to get an entire season of smash left and then when the 07-08 season starts we can switch to brawl.

Most smashers will buy a Wii. Theres going to be three Wiis in my household alone. I cant see getting the equipment together a problem.

Plus, when brawl out we'll start worrying bout tournament setups etc then : )

London tournament sounds class if it'll actually happen - not sure about them kimmelman chaps, they've just let me down so many times =p
Jam's at uni O_O Couple guys in my flat who've played smash but they more interested in Pro Evo .. L1+Circle. No TV yet anyways an is early days =]
Eddy Ed, I'd like to try come up weekend after next but not sure how realistic that is at the minute - My timetable for this week isn't tame but it's all just registering an ****, will know how it really is probably sometime this week.

I've not got net in my room ryanz but will have it till 11:30 in some random room somewhere else on campus - ****ing bs that we're one of 3/7 clusters of flats in our bit that don't get net. Our bits called Ditchling, speaks for itself I reckon.

omfg the Jamuary tornament has taken hold!

and to answer coeys question the GMC have been around and playing real smash for the last year or so...

but febuary was the turning point in the form of SDB making a terrific effort to visit us in Taunton were we got schooled quite dramatically...
were based in Yeovil with our own shop and a Gamecube/Projecter upstairs and play every single day; were known as the GMC as the majurity of the crew have been raised by raging homo mothers...

Ty Twiggy 4 ur info on the GMC is always nice 2 kno how ppl in the UK manage 2 play daily.

Well as u hav told u about GMC i mite as well make a metion of STFU if ur interested tht is (if not dnt read on =] ). Well myself, Golfie, and J03 (who likes 2 b known as overdose these days and who quite literally needs 2 STFU sumtimes as u mite hav guessed) hav been playin seriously since about april/may, whereas Martoid and our unconfirmed member don't really practice with us and are the best we cud find 2 fill our crew roster.

Also STFU is a 'clever' play on words standin 4 Smash Team Fanatics United which Golfie thought was humourous and as i cant think of a better name it has stuck.

BTW any other info on the british scene wud b greatly appreciated thanx
