As far as i know we have no Carl's in FL.
Galeon is learning him, lol.

well, to be fair to the list, Jin DID get scraped at SBO. also, Carl's throw loop works on everyone except people with very fast air tech times. (i.e. Ragna) but, all a tier list means is that when taking all metagame into account, and played to maximum potential against an opponent of equal skill and matchup knowledge, X character is overall more effective than Y character.
Doesn't work on Rachel because of wind, doesn't work on Hakumen because of counter.

SBO is big and all, but it was still a single elim tournament and its just ONE tournament. So changing the entire tier list based off of just one tournament is ridiculous. And even that does'nt justify Rachel moving above V-13 since I'm sure more Nu players placed higher than Rachel players in that tournament.

Carl is good. But his only offensive IS his grab loops. He really does'nt have much else going for him, so pretty much in a game where every grab is techable and Carl has no command grabs, that does'nt warrant him being that high. The only grabs I get caught in are the ones I get surprised with, and there are usually no surprise grabs against Carl since thats all he is looking for are grabs. Plus it does'nt work against every character.

Jin IS really good. If Carl's throw loop makes him high tier, then what about Jin's B&B that leads to at least 70%(more depending on character) damage against most characters(it has 2 throws in it). That works against every character and requires no tension. I don't think any of the other high tiers can rack up damage nearly that fast(Sure they can, but from what I've seen Jin does it the fastest).

Carl should be where he is, but Jin should be above Carl and Arakune in my opinion. His match ups against most characters in my opinion makes him deserve the third spot on the tier list.

There are different variations of the loop, some don't use airgrabs. Also some characters still get stuck in the loop regardless of whether or not they tech the airgrab.

Jin should be above [...] Arakune

...since when has Jin had ANYTHING that made him a better character than Arakune? more health, and a slightly better matchup against Nu. that's it. everything else goes in Arakune's favor. Arakune has significant advantages on most of the cast, whereas Jin is even, slightly advantaged, or slightly disadvantaged against the whole cast. why would you even THINK Jin should be above Arakune. also, it has been debated since the game came out that Rachel may be better overall than Nu-13. Rachel has a much more well-rounded game. Period. Nu has performed slightly better due to it being much harder to approach. But looking at damage output, health, and close up game, Rachel has proven as good or better. i think with increased play, Rachel could develop to be the best overall character. and yes, all Carl has for offense is his loops, but if done properly, he has inescapable damage where as everyone else has escapable damage.

Also, SBO is the ONLY MAJOR BlazBlue tourney to happen since the console release. Think here, Laijin. OBVIOUSLY tier projections are going to be made after a MAJOR INTERNATIONAL tournament. Sometimes I wonder about you... <_<

yeah, DC, i forgot Rachel can use wind while getting hit or grabbed. and, does Hakumen have enough time to use D after he techs Carl's grab?

Yeah it's pretty gay for some characters lol.

Btw I'm subbing Noel to sandbag people with. Rachel + Noel = too good. Tell me the next time you go to ZP so we can practice Afro.

This is true. Some characters if you throw escape, you still get hit with Nirvana's clap, and Carl can get back and hit you into another clap to restart the loop.

Yeah, you can burst in that period, but that just means the next time you get caught the game is over.

Hm. . . I was thinking, and what if they gave V-13 A.B.A. syndrom, to where she had to transform in order to become that powerful.
That be a good way to balance her without taking away what makes her unique.

Jin being above Arakune is my personal opinion. I have a much easier time against every Arakune player i've played than against Jin players. Don't argue against that since its just my own opinion

However..
Yes. SBO has been the only major blazblue tourney since the console release. I would just think that people would actually wait for a couple of more major tournies to happen before deciding to change the tier list. If their basing it off of that, then why is Rachel higher than Nu? Yea that makes complete sense right?
And about Carl..just because a couple of good players are really good with Carl does not mean Carl is automatically really good. Just those players are(Same goes for Mike Z and Tager. One player does not make a character :|)

In the end though, I'm sure all of you will agree that the game needs more time to develop before anything is certain. Right?

Yep... I think Haku vs. Carl might actually be in Haku's favor.

I have a much easier time against Falco than Ganondorf in every tournament I play in. In my humble opinion... Ganondorf is better than Falco.

NYAA NYAA MY OPINION I R UNTOUCHABLE BLARGHARAGH.

SBO may be the first major tourney since console release, but you have to remember that BlazBlue has been out since December of last year. (Maybe even earlier, I know I played BlazBlue over x-mas break at some time after it first came out). So Japan has had a good 9 months almost to get a fairly accurate tier list. Think about SF4, which came out at the beginning of the year for the US. We already have tier lists for that in the US that most people feel is already settling down.

Arcadia magazine is serious business when it comes to those tier lists, and while I personally don't have the greatest frame of reference for the matter considering my very limited knowledge on Rachel, I can imagine how she might be better than NU. I do know she has a very good up close game with some serious mixups with the top, and she can space well with wind, and frogs and what not. I don't think anyone can match NU's stupid mid to far range game, and the ability to do incredibly simple 60-70%'s. But you can also destroy NU in a couple hits.

I don't really see how it could be outside the realm of possibility for her to be top in your mind.

And I don't think Carl is good simply because of a "Couple good players." There are exactly 3 character that can get out of the loops, and that's Rachel with the wind, Hakumen with his Drive counter, and Ragna. From what I understand, Ragna can only get out reliably if they grab and he breaks. I believe he has to wait out the air tech time anyway if he gets caught in the normal clap combo, and then that's still over 50% of his health gone. The other characters are boned, and forget about it against Bang or Tager (and I think maybe a couple other people) because he doesn't even have to air dash to get the next grab in, meaning he doesnt have to reset the loop at all once his air dash's are gone, giving them an opportunity to safely barrier burst. The loop isn't the biggest problem in and of itself, because average damage from the loop is like a Tager 720, or a Hakumen combo with maybe 3 or 4 seals, but the fact that it's relatively simple to combo into if you get in any sort of hit. There's really no strings attached.

jin only has like 1 or 2 viable combos that do about 65% damage at most and require about 75% to 100% meter

wat kinda BnB does 70% wtffff

how can u include throw combos into how good a character is? throws can be broken so easily with hit stun meaning if they try to throw in a combo they have a long *** time to tech that ****. might aswell shoot bang to top tier if u wanna make throw combos a big deal.

man I hate arguing. Whatever you guys can have your opinions about the tier lists. :|
Since thats all it is are opinions based off results. The only problem I'm having are the results. I don't think their accurate enough to change the tier lists.

lol, DC, that Tager pic looks like he's from Street Fighter IV.

And Carl does really good against Hakumen. He can camp the crap out of him with Nirvana and 236B. It's also really easy to get him sandwich'd because his moves are slow and you can simply 236B under his air approach and punish with 6D. Hakumen's really powerful combos don't work on Carl because of his strange physics too. He can still hit him hard, but not nearly as hard as he wants to because Carl just outmaneuvers him so well.

I also think Jin should be above Carl, since he has more well-rounded matchups. I can't say much about Litchi; all I know is that she has very good Okizime combos.

yea litchis the new v13 for that ****.

sarcasm.

most characters have nasty throw combos. there was absolutley no reason to just single out jin and try to make his throw combo determine how good he is lol.

Today I tried rapid canceling my favorite v-13 move and as a result I'm now working on replacing as many BnB's as I can with a combo involving the rapid cancel of said move. Do you call them BnB's if they require heat? I'd definitely consider dddd floor axe rapid dddddddddddddd gannon punch a BnB.

yes. Her main BnB that requires 50% heat is:

5DD 4DD 236D RC 5DD 6DD 2DD jc 5DD jc 5DD 214D

Its ****ing ******** easy. Learn it.

Any combo that ends with 214D can be ended with 632146D(Legacy Edge) for additional damage.

Also. You can do 5DD 4DD 236236D for nice damage as well for 50% heat.

That's the basic gist of what I've been experimenting with. This is only one of the combos I'm currently working on but this one seems the most likely to be worth using. It hasn't been tested for more then like 15 minutes and today I'm going to try to find ways I can change it to add some more damage in. I was going to keep this to myself a bit longer but If you wanna fool around with / use this your more than welcome too. Just don't go posting it ****ing everywhere so everyone and their grandmothers use it.

As it is I think the damage is basically the same as the basic BnB anyway. This just looks much cooler.

Edit: Oh god this **** is a ridiculous anti air against Tager.

lol I'm more than 100% sure that if it is a legit combo it is already known.

Furthermore I'm also sure that there is either a better version of it.

Ya more tests done. ****s not that great except for against Tager as an anti air combo after ya hit with the 6DD because you can hit with j.5DD j.2DD on every jump. Other than that its not worth it. I forgot this game has already been out a year.

Ya **** sux. Okay when the hell do I use my 4B? Is it for poking through pressure gaps or some **** because unless this thing counter hits it seems pretty worthless.
