Jesus, you have to press buttons all the time with Plat. How the heck do people play her? Well, I mean, I guess if pushing buttons is your thing...

Yeah, I think you do. You press buttons like you're doing King-style throw combos in Tekken. Eight throw special combo off of a LOW KICK REVERSAL INTO OCTOPUS HOLD!!!

*cough*

She's very simple.

I'm just saying that you basically have to go in balls deep, give zero ****s, and never block anything ever. So, you know, push all the buttons.

Her combos are pretty easy, actually.

Online it usually works. Even if on block it's actually punishable. lol

Oh, but Crusayer was the only person that blocked my 2 consecutive gold bursts. :(

Lol... it's true. To get anything done with Plat you've got to be ahead of the mash curve

-----

Something to keep in mind, if you do get a stick: the thing most people struggle with on stick is re-learning everything. So, try not to get too frustrated, it will take you about a week to get comfortable with it, and then another week or two to get back to your previous pad skills on stick.

Best advice I can give is not to switch back and forth, you'll only hinder your progress that way.
Yeah, I'm sure it will be a struggle... but it's def. something I have to try.

Even if it only turns out to be one more piece in my BB swag collection and I'm no good at it after trying for a few months. I've gotta see if it can help me get over any hurdles, or just make me feel cooler in general :3

I do that sometimes.

My boyfriend does a very hilarious double overhead with jumping pan. Didn't work the first time? Just do it again!

I do random muzzle filters all the time!

except they're not random.

I try to condition people to stand by doing 5c > 6b a lot then i'll throw in muzzle filter instead

Man. Sucks when you can't find a game for like, an hour straight. I just kept practicing the same Blood Kain combo over and over while listening to "I'll make a man out of you" from Mulan. Surprisingly motivational and epic. LOL

Probably the best song to practice to, haha.

Time for me to level up. I'm tired of losing to the same people in tournaments every time. Gotta hit dat training mode hard.

Aye, it be a tune to motivate to. Almost as good as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZM-HaXS3wE

Note to self: If going to sub Tao and Kune, actually print out a Specials/Distortions/Combo list to reference instead of going to challenge, then back to training.

Well since I'm a newcomer to sticks it'll all be new to me anyways :3

EDIT: I'm going to see if I can't make this thing pimpin' once it arrives since it was such an investment already

Yeah, they are. Though the one thing I noticed from the short couple of matches I've played with one is that the joystick seems closer to the buttons than the Madcatz TE ones do.
They are a bit closer, yeah.

I think the thing that bugs me about the TEs now is that it almost feels like the gate is bigger on the TE, so I really have to overcompensate for specials and such.

I have to admit, I'm not really sure what you mean by "the gate" being bigger.

The piece of plastic that your joystick rides against.

You have an unmodded TE, right? Well, if you take the joystick and move it around, you should feel a square shape in the corners, because standard TEs are shipped with square gates. You can also get octagon and circle gates. But yeah, the gate itself feels more spacious (for lack of a better word) than the Qanba.

Unless you go out of your way to change the gate on the stick, it's pretty much always square. You can tell though, if you move your joystick around, it feels really obvious.

Oh I getcha. You mean that you think the square-gate with the TE one is bigger than the Qanba, and as such you have to move the joystick more than you would with the Qanba to get the same results?

Yeah, heh. I was talking about the size of it, lol.

Also, time for some Mu training today. Do you guys feel like practicing with music is more entertaining? If so, what do you listen to?

I've found myself listening to Make a Man Out of You from the Mulan movie. Works so damn well. :p

Also Fate/Stay Night music for me. Primarily EMIYA.

Fate/Zero is a prequel to Fate/Stay Night. :3
He's talking about this.

I never even thought about listening to different music when in training mode, I normally just listen to in-game music I like, so usually X-matic or Blood Pain.

But that sound like a fun way to mix things up, I should try it. Umineko has some nice music, maybe I'll try something like goldenslaughterer or Worldend_Dominator.

Maybe try some Mega Man music too.
