Here are some matches I had against a Sonic off Anther's, some criticism is welcome.
Let's go in order
  1. We tech those
  2. FThrow ain't the best throw, especially at low percents where DThrow>Nair/Uair/DA/Wizkick deal more damage and grant better footsies. At higher percents, especially near the ledge, you may mix-up FThrow and DThrow>Fair as DIing inward makes the latter a true combo (sometimes it is without any DI as well), while D-Dying outward makes FThrow kill earlier.
  3. As a rule of thumb, you want to be at a distance where every Dash Sonic does is telegraphed enough to react to it.
  4. Remember when he Springs a Dair that he can in no way change where he goes, in other words, when he reaches enough distance to autocancel the Dair, there's only one place to cover
  5. Ganon himself can do it with his Down-B, altough he needs a much higher distance from the ground

Gentleganons, I humbly submit to you a modest display of what meager skill I have gained in Sm4sh. Or at least, what skill I had earlier this year. Composing and finishing the music took a little longer than I had wanted and I only just now got the whole thing finished up. Oh well, onward and upward.

We had our weekly tournaments hosted by SAK Gaming Tuesday and last night. For shameless promotion purposes, tune in Wednesdays and Thursdays from now on as we'll be having them every week. Things get very hype, and I will often be there ;)

Got 2nd/22 and 3rd/38 respectively, and got a ton of videos even though I think I'm missing a couple.

As always for me, many mistakes were made. Feel free to critique.

Now I'm going to pass back out.

I had a good time pressing play on all these and trying to figure which voices went with which video. Some good Ganon play there too. Recovery and shielding are solid; Ganon has such a strong shield it's a useful tool for punishes out of it, and I loved the occasional flame choke mix up. Congrats on this performance.

Swoops Swoops Good job, dude. Here's what I have to say about those matches:

The good:

-When you have the positional advantage, you make really good decisions, for example, that DThrow to empty SH to Dtilt against the Ness on BF; that was a smart move.
-You approach certain situations patiently, like waiting on the ledge and poking with DTilts.
-You're good at anticipating someone's next move when you have the advantage (i.e. momentum)

The things I'd do differently:

-You started to get a little impatient, especially against the Ness, doing DAs and throwing out moves when launched.
-When in the negative, you often made unsafe decisions which let the Ness rack up damage really quickly

If my advice/observations are worth anything, I'd say just keep your cool when you're at a positional disadvantage; don't be too eager to throw moves out. Another thing I'd say is develop your wizkick approaches. Wizkick definitely shouldn't be a go-to approach option, but it's fast enough that if you punctuate it, it allows you to manipulate your opponent's options a bit by making them anticipate it, so, in a sense, less itself a utility and moreso the potential for its use to keep them guessing. The Greninja especially liked to do a lot of empty hopping at mid-range, which wizkick would've been a good choice for. Just a good mix-up to push people to the corner if they're playing as passively as the Greninja and Ness were.

The good is definitely ever present though. I think your strongest point is your ability to keep that momentum train going. Patience and approach mix-ups are the two places I think would take you to the next level. :colorful:

Hopefully no one will mind me putting this here. I'll make sure to comment on everyone's vids before too long.

Oh my Hylia! You were on TV, A2ZOMG A2ZOMG ! Did you say "Hi" to your mom? :p

A2ZOMG's Ganondorf vs. UberDude's Captain Falcon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziYTE8zbbgg.

Also, since it doesn't seem feel right just posting one video, from terminalkai, ぽん's Ganondorf vs. そーめん's Falco: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-aI1LZe9xA. So, have fun and critique away.
Yeah one time I don't look completely awful on stream, but first game Uber screwed up his name and controls selection, lol.

Thanks for the input Verm, it's much appreciated. I think you're pretty spot on with everything.

Part of the reason I'm so desperate to counterattack out of disadvantage is just to establish some level of respect. Super important for keeping certain players/characters from running a train on you due to dorf's ****ty disadvantage state. However, i end up being very slow to counter adapt once they start respecting.

Got two Dorf videos for you :) Hope you like them!

This first one is a 0 to death I got on a Roy player, ending with my favorite move in the game - Dark Dive :)

Second vid is one I'm unsure if I've posted earlier, but I don't think I have, so here it is: My newest montage of Ganon I made a little while ago :)

Not just to retake the stock, but to shatter any remaining willpower.

While we're on the subject of not giving up when you're down...

As always, excellent job. I think nowadays you're much more discerning about the material you choose for your highlights, which make for more condensed, more exciting videos. I mean, that was still quite a bit of content for 1-2 months (last montage was November, right?), but I don't think there was a single highlight that was lacking.
Really? Was worried about the greninja and ness clips lol. thanks. Yeah I made two dorf montages in november, one being a collection of my favorite highlights so I just let that take decembers spot since I had been busy lol.

That's top quality stuff man. There's a reason I put you in the top 3 offensive Ganon players list.
Thank you, much appreciated. I'm interested in seeing this list lol. and I'd definitely agree that I am aggressive even to a fault at times tbh.

I've got two videos here against this good Bowser I fought in For Glory. We were pretty even honestly, but I got some good hits in that I liked. Check it out!
