since you live in LA, go to Japan Arcade to play it don't go to FFA since it cost 50 cents and the training mode (hold LK before you press start) is like 5 minutes instead of the regular 25 cent and the training mode is about 7 minutes?. Plus there's alot of much better players at Japan Arcade than FFA
