im curious to know what makes ness good. i watched the SickNess video and wasnt impressed. back in the day my former smash crew had 4-player VS ness battles as a joke and i usually came out on top though

and i think G&W aerials are nice enough to put him siginficantly higher

G&W's defense is just fine. His shield, spot dodge, and roll are not. There is a difference...

EDIT: Hooray for Brookman, someone who's actually good at explaining things. And I didn't even see his post but said the same thing. Glad someone else understands. However, IMO the only characters who "****" G&W are Peach and Marth. Yoshi can also be difficult but not as bad as the other two.

i think sheik too. as for the other top tiers, falco and fox may have a harder time against G&W but theyll still come out on top. keep in mind im talking about character in general and not individual instances of pro players ive seen of heard about

I used to think Sheik too but it's pretty easy to adjust to Sheik. You're right, I should post more general instead of my own preference. I find Fox/Falco to be pretty easy but that doesn't mean G&W has the advantage over them. But Fox really doesn't have anything special vs G&W besides the usual superior speed and vertical kills. Fox isn't the best horizontal killer, so G&W is a little safer. Falco's harder for G&W than Fox though.

perfect example right there, 56k. that fox is zelgadis so you know he doesnt suck. and on G&Ws 2nd life he royally screwed up twice and still held his own. regardless of that fact that there were mindgames in that video, it still shows G&Ws potential to stir up trouble with fox. i dont believe G&W would win at all but i dont think he'll be defeated as bad like he would with marth or peach

is there any tier discussion still going on in the SBR? meaning, are any changes going to be made to the tier list any time soon? i wouldn't think too much on it because it really gives a generally accurate idea of how the characters stand. if any real changes were to be made, i'm sure they would be small and perhaps insignificant.

because honestly, i don't believe there is anything too revolutionary that would allow tiers to be changed so drastically. there has been nothing of the sort since ken and chu and other notable players. arguments about characters' individual statistical qualities doesn't really prove squat for me unless they are shown excelling in tournament play.

to del money's recent custom tier list: do you happen to play yoshi and gw? it certainly shows lol. luigi's spot is ridiculously low and proves you don't know enough about every character to make a noteworthy tier list. especially on your own. the tier list is a compilation of MANY, MANY opinions from SBR members.

Luigi IS definitely unusually low on that tier list... many people have argued about Link and Luigi being too low on the tier list given their performance in low tier tourneys.

how is the list i made personal preference if i revised it based on opinions from people other than myself? i already know your "snide" answer is gonna be "cuz you made it" but i know i said many times that i WWANTED OTHER OPINIONS and all i got is you and your negativity. the purpose was to figure out the lower tiers since thats what everyone disagrees on the most. so if your gonna be all negative and emo-ish then go ahead. i just hope youll eventually put the knife away and stop listening to fallout boy

these adjustment were made because of someone else suggested yoshi was good and i agreed. everyone ive asked before coming to this thread says luigi is low tier and i never believed it at first but i have no luigi experience outside cpu level 9. if the tier is finalized by all expert opinions merged into one huge compromise (like i thought would happen on this thread) then it would solve the stupid crap i hear from people at college that fox is broken and young link is the games worst character. my reaction was uncalled for but christ, if you see something you dont like just change it instead of flaming me
