Technical Foxes

I get ***** by them.

What do I do?

Obviously most good Foxes are also technical. I'm not just talking general tech, though. I'm talking force you to Up B on the stage, drill and shine so you fall back off, wash and repeat type of technical Foxes. The ones that every shine is a uthrow to uair or a usmash. The ones that control the pace of a match more so than Falco laser camping does. The ones that abuse Fox's speed and priority and ridiculous KO power.

Why I get *****:

- I'm in my shield too often, stagnating
- I'm stupidly throwing out utilt / ftilts and getting ***** when I whiff
- Too fast for me to adequately grab

When I am pressuring Fox's shield, what should I be doing? Usually it's a fair into their shield into an l-cancel obviously. After that, what's the best way to make Fox make a mistake? Jabs aren't that effective, especially at low percentages. Space the fair properly into an ftilt to follow like I'm playing Jiggs? Dash dance to grab?

I **** Marths and I do well against Falco, and I used to do well against Fox but the better I get the more this subset of Foxes ***** me.

if you shield a lot, you might want to learn how to time shield canceled nairs. those are really helpful at times. try to roll out of the way or vary the time you spend in your shield.

trying to tilt at the beginning of a match with sheik against a fox is just suicidal. grabbing>down throw>chase>repeat/dash attack/u-smash works well

it doesn't matter how you get the grab in. really, don't throw out aerials or other moves against a fox that is shielding, just get down on the ground and GRAB!

really, the whole sheik game against fox is speed. your combos are not indefinite and will cease at some point. what you have to do is keep up with the fox's movement get a few more good hits in

your ledge game better be superb by the way. fox's may be good on land but when they're vulnerable out there, make sure to put out fairs, ledge hop nairs, needles, bairs, and maybe even a chain.

ok, now let's talk mindgames. it's going to be based on prediction, especially in the air. you're gonna have to know when you can get that u-air in when the fox is above you. you have to know when a crouch canceled down smash is adequate. when you down throw, you have to know how to chase and provoke the fox. most importantly, you have to read the fox's recovery.

here's a nice vid on the strats against fox. also, you jab so you can do stuff afterwards like jab>d-smash/grab

*intrested in this thread*

i´m having trouble against foxes too xD
DD-happy or Up-air spamming is the worst ....

my tip would be drephen style ....

DOWNSMASH xD

u can actually **** a fox pretty bad with it, if you get him once :p techchase to dsmash, to edgeguard (with downsmash -.-)
except for that, i dont know what to try, so, thats my problem... (havent played a real good fox for a while, and the downsmash happy shiek was the next thing i´d try ^^)

i dont think my advice is usable though -.-

Most of what he said was the actual general strategy I don't need. I posted a much longer reply but it got erased and I wasn't interested in doing it again. And I purposely edited it saying don't take offense because I know what it sounded like. I don't know how anyone can ***** about something when I specifically said no offense. Notably Sheik players = people I would prefer advice from, stop making something out of nothing

its impossible
to do so you would need extreme skills in prediction and somehow be able to space dash attacks to where you don't get punished for them like kdj
i dont think there's a sheik in the west coast that can beat lucky if thats what your asking, nor a peach (go ask edrees) =[

yes an old hread o.O

If anyone cares, I played quite a bit with Peki(A technical Fox >_>) a while back. I found out that I got totally ***** if I didn't play extremely patiently.. I spaced bairs and fair a loot and ran away every time he attacked, trying to get in some grabs either during his L-cancel lag or the lag after the shine. Also, you can CC-grab or Dsmash full jump and shffl nairs, which is quite effective. Grabbing him was extremely hard, but when I succeeded, uthrow into utilts is good if they don't DI, and jab if they DI forward are good. If they DI behind, tech chase.

I think I lost more of the matches, but most of the times those were the ones where I didn't care to play patiently. I guess he's better than your average technical Fox but.. my best advice is to space bairs and fairs >.< Play against him with Sheik and think of something better. x_x

Yes no one cares <_< But k.

shield pressure + spacing with bairs and fairs + edge guards + patience = how you beat Fox.

But it's HARD.

work on your grab and when its down
get him off the ledge ^_^
after that just edge guard with needles or hang on and nair when he's charging his b-up

Lol plank/Tope, doing stuff off the ledge is soooo risky, im too much of a wuss to do it. I do 3 things:

1. DOWNSMASHHHHHHHHHH
2. GRAB
3. Randomly throw fairs so they run into it

there are technical foxes in cali?.....

>_>

"just get them off the edge and ****" plank always has the best advice, doesnt he LOL <3

edit
drephen to the rescue  btw no one can actually do the stuff you do, drephen, and make them work. your style is too powerful for any normal sheik to handle

crouch everything, trade non-shine with uptilt/ftilt/downsmash all while crouching.

Play defensive and stand in place doing odd sidesteps and WD back a lot and crouch in place. These things should throw off fox's tech game, in a way making your opponent easier to outright fight.

What Drephen says every time, and is still right despite my best attempts to come up with something else.

kira, you seriously need to stop forming opinions on players you have barely even played. connor is more technical than danimals or luigi or almost any fox outside of sniper and knives.

i think sheik losing to bowser does a more to make "us" look bad

sheiks shouldn't lose to characters they have such a dramatic advantage over. it's literally just not fair. even if i lost to chu dat's pikachu i'd still feel bad because some matchups should just transcend skill and enter the realm of cheap gayness.
