ZeRo's support doesn't mean too much, but it's nice to see that a high level Smash player actually wants Phoenix Wright. It gives us nothing but publicity to have a top player supporting us, even if ZeRo's support alone doesn't really increase Phoenix's chances.

I don't expect any Smash at TGS, at most Phoenix as an assist trophy maybe, but hey, I'd love to be wrong haha
But wow, I'm wondering what the new Ace Attorney might even look like! Amazing lighting and 3D, or maybe even back to pretty sprites if they felt like it, wonder if they'd surprise and apply the new look to all 6 previous main games that are also coming, wonder maybe like...maybe a Phoenix amiibo? It would kinda deconfirm Phoenix for me, but still, real close to some neat news <3

This is it, my number one most-wanted, my main man Phoenix Wright. Forgive me if I go a little crazy with the predictions and wishing here, but if there's one real gap in the Smash roster in my eyes it's that he's not in yet. He was one of the biggest DS all stars, an incredible character with a series that's almost never had a bad game, and on a personal level my second longest-running fandom has been Ace Attorney. I jumped on when JFA was released and never looked back.
His costumes should be Modern (DD/SOJ design), Classic (Original trilogy design), Hobo Nick, Feenie, and then a few different colored variants of Modern and Classic to evoke other characters like Mia, Ray, Tigre, etc.
Final Smash: Thought Route
Phoenix closes his eyes and it zooms in on him and takes you to the thought route from Dual Destinies/Spirit of Justice. Portraits of the competitors in the match get connected with the red line and Phoenix is joined by Apollo and Athena who do a huge triple objection!
It'd be especially fun if Classic and Feenie changed them to Mia and Gregory!
Maya, Ema, and maybe even a few others should cameo during some of his moves, but I won't complain if it's only Maya for the old school fans. Just as long as we get plenty of Athena and Apollo - a Mood Matrix move would be great!
Echo fighter should be Edgeworth, no question. His cameos during his thought route could be Franziska and Godot, with his Modern outfit being joined by Klavier and Blackquill. Kay Faraday could be his assistant, or Gumshoe. I'd kill for Ray or Sebastian but I'm being semi-realistic here. His outfits would be Modern, Classic, Young (3-4/AAI-3) and various prosecutor colors, like Nahyuta.

I just found this tweet describing why Phoenix should be in Smash. I'm glad we have a specific Phoenix for Smash Twitter account now, we should definitely make our support more vocal. All of the reasons listed in the image for why he should be added are very valid reasons in my opinion. I love the Ace Attorney series so much, if Phoenix gets in then I will never ask for anything ever again.

I decided to check this thread out of curiosity cause TGS and piracy? First I've heard of that, though an important piece of info should be whether or not it's before or after the first 3 games got brought to 3DS, Ace Attorney sold so well they needed to get an extra print in like a week

So the first panel has come and gone, and they only really announced that the original Ace Attorney trilogy is coming to Switch, PS4, Xbox, and Steam...
Very weird to see it on a non-Nintendo console and I can't help but be disappointed they didn't also announce rereleases of the second trilogy games or at least AJ, but it's a start. Maybe the Takumi panel will reveal more things. The more eyes we can get on the series, the better chance we have even if it's just DLC. Ace Attorney is iconically Nintendo, darnit! Put Phoenix in Smash!

...I can't believe how absolutely......I......I didn't even expect Smash anymore but wow, Ace Attorney 123 for Switch and everywhere else, okay, great, we already knew, but great! They demo it for like...20 minutes... (the whole presentation is supposed to be 40 mins)

TGS was disappointing. So glad I only caught a run-down of it as I woke up to use the facilities.
I am looking forward to the anime adaption of T&T so I appreciated new footage. Interesting that it only focuses on 3-2...they might start there and rework the first case into the story later.
New orchestra will be a fun listen on YouTube. More merch we can't have...
The trilogy being ported on Switch wasn't a surprise, but the sheer magnitude of the series going multi platform on all home consoles and Steam will be huge for it. More exposure and thus more will garner more fans. I could see that being a huge game changer for the series.
No new AA tho makes me salty somewhat. I think we might have to wait for 4-6 being ported too as the team tend to not want to alienate new fans story-wise.

Isn't there another Ace Attorney panel tomorrow? Realistically, I think Phoenix for Smash being announced is unlikely, but we could definitely hear of Ace Attorney 7 tomorrow. With that said, Takumi did not work on Duel Destinies or Spirit of Justice, so either he may come back for the seventh installment or we're getting Dai Gyakuten Saiban 3, or something else entirely.

Dai is just not coming over because so much of the story involves the protagonist and others being Japanese and going to Britain and dealing with sometimes language barriers or just straight-up racism. There's the issue of oh, if we have the Japanese characters speak English then what foreign language to the English people speak...?? But then there's also just the lack of confidence, they think that people won't care to play as a Japanese person or something, if they can't "Americanize" it, then they just don't seem to have any confidence bringing it over at all sadly...
As for the next panel (which should be 10pm EST tonight I think?) I...definitely hooope for some actual news...but it most likely will just be a recap of the previous panel. I don't even know HOW they'd recap it, demo the port for another 20 minutes?? Takumi might talk about his involvement with the anime or something, but yeah, it feels real unlikely since it's a "VJump" panel and not a Capcom one...if it was a new game or anything, would rather at the Capcom panel right? Lord knows, I might have to question Capcom's sanity in calling this a big year for Ace Attorney fans if we don't get something of value. And if this turnout suggests we're not getting a new game, then Phoenix Wright being playable in Smash would have to suffice.

It's sad, that's exactly what they did lol. I hope him going multiplatform doesn't hurt his chances, I always saw him being nintendo exclusive as a big selling point.

And aw, don't worry! He's still got that big "history with Nintendo" thing going for him! Despite the anime and pachinko and all that jazz, it seems popularity is the biggest thing holding him back? Going multi-platform, so many more people are willing to finally give the series a try! It'll be great for the series, hopefully reflect in sales and build confidence in localizing things and the series in general, and yeah, that'll definitely help Smash chances!
I was kind of hoping for like...123 port, 456 port, and 7 like they discussed months ago, and all that hype would get people playing and all, but this is okay for now I guess, all the different platforms are awesome... and hey, 456 and 7 are still on the way! Probably! Guess we just gatta give it some more time...
