The best part about that 1UP discussion was when the guy bashed Melee/Brawl for being played on one level (Final Destination, a level with no platforms), yet BASHES the game again for being more of a platformer than a fighter.

Smash is nice because of the unlimited options you have. Jumping, using platforms freely, character movement. Makes me think of smash (rather, melee) as probably the most complex and best fighter there is.

Because that scene is more dead than a lot of games recognized as 'real fighters'? Because the community isn't very large or vocal? Can I stop giving obvious reasons now?

Anyways, it's sad how ignorant people are, but hey it can go both ways. I remember on MLG some guy was talking about how much hype Brawl got then went on to say "For all you Melee diehards, give Brawl a chance, you wont be disappointed"
