People keep PMing me and asking me in real life why I capitalized G and R in my nickname, and why it's not just "Danger." My nickname on this site and in tournaments is DanGR and it's not because "Danger" was taken, lol. I'll use DanGR, DGR, and Dan as tags.

It's pronounced Dan-gee-are, even though few people actually call me that because it's not very obvious. That and it looks so similar to "Danger" so people usually just call me that.

Origin. My first name is Dan and the first letters of my middle and last name start with G and R respectively. That's it really. You can just call me Dan on the boards and irl if you want.

Also, this has been bugging me for a while. Onishiba, formerly known as Spadefox, goes by Onishiba now. He does not go by Spadefox. So guys, call him the first. It's really rude to ignore a request that simple. If you don't like his name and call him Spadefox, you might as well make up another random name, as he has been doing to some of y'all. That's all I have to say on that subject.

I guess y'all can discuss where you got your nicknames and tags and stuff. I just wanted a thread/blog to refer to when people ask.

Letters addressed to me are
"Mr. D J Brown"
So I simply join them together, and add the usual Australian suffix of 'y' to get my nickname So I'm not a DJ, and I didnt call myself that to act cool or anything lol.

I didnt particularly want this to happen, but people shorten my name to 'DJB' (as opposed to browny which is what I'm called IRL lol) and over time everyone refers to me as DJB (hence the slight name change to capitalise it). When this happens in real life its really irritating lol. People will say 'Hey DJB' no matter how many times I tell them to call me by my real name >_<

Uhm, I guess I'm up for telling a story.

Lumis: A Yu-Gi-Oh! character's name; he only appeared for one episode.
Ymir: A forest and lake in Tales of Phantasia and Symphonia.

A long time ago, I wanted to join RuneScape as Lumis, but the name was taken. I then had the idea that the only way I could join is if I had an extremely original name. I entered as Llumys Ymyrr, which is essentially Lumis Ymir with ******** spelling.

Anyway, as years passed, I started joining sites as just Llumys. It became my alias for every site imaginable, and eventually it became my gamertag.

My name's pronounced Loo-miss. Ymyrr is pronounced Yuh-mire.

I'm cool with Smashers calling me by my real name, though.

In my old clan, I had to make a thread to explain how my name was pronounced, because after we started using Skype, I realized almost everyone was getting my name wrong. After some jokes, I gained some unofficial names.

Luhmies, etc.

Also, shortenings of my name include Llum and Lumys.

I've also been called Lumpy for lulz.

Anyway, that's all I can think of.

I always use a variation of that for internet stuff or games, usually its just MZINK.

Mine came from a Sonic OC I made named Velen. My username is just the Romanized Japanese version of his name. I go by Beren in online Brawl (mainly cause there are not many people nearby whom would be willing to come over and play some Brawl).

My name is taken from a Fire Emblem villain (gheb) but it's also an abrrevation for my real name (gabriel) if you pronounce it right^^. It's not my battle tag though ... I use just g. as my tag and if I could change my name just like that I'd change it either to Gdot or g.

Wanted my WoW character named Murdock, it was taken, after spamming the random button for about 15minutes I saw Xefain, I liked the X with a Z sound and kept the doc, Xeedoc. Nicknames of that are xee and/or doc.

My name has several origins:

1. During my sophmore year of high school, a friend drew a cartoon of me and left a word bubble empty. I gave it a background with a bunch of kids skating on ice and a really huge fat guy about to fall over. The caption I gave myself was "Life is like a fat man on ice, if he falls, we're all screwed." I thought this was pretty funny so I started using the expression "it's like a fat man on ice" but instead of using the original ending, I'd make something up or simply walk away when people asked "why it was like a fat man on ice."

2. When I joined Nsider, I thought the whole screenname thing was kind of stupid so I wanted to create a name that was kind of like a trucker name. Orginally I wanted to do the name "somethingevilthiswaycomes" but I mixed up my screenname with my username and thus history was made.

3. I'm 6'6 and about 50 pounds underweight for my height. The irony speaks for itself and I think a lot about my personality and character does too.

4. In middle school, I created a super hero named "Fat Man." His super power was the ability to control food. There was another comic I made about a fat man who lived in a lake and ate people and was largely based on the movie Lake Placid. Also during that year, I created a paper called "128 Ways to Tell if You're Fat" which almost got me suspended because I offended on the one teacher's whose daughter was fat. In the end, I think that was the year where my current sense of humor emerged which I consider to be a major part of my personality.

My first name is Dean. At the age of 13 (shut up lol) I joined my first internet forum and came up with this name. It's stuck with me for some reason.

I like to pronounce it 'dee one three'. 'Dee thirteen' just sounds ********.

Yea, my username came from my screename a while ago. I kept making a bunch of different usernames with different passwords and forgot ALL of them. So this is just a formality for me. 7827 can form the word "star" on a phone. I used 7827 cause I love everything about space and the cosmos. If I ever wanted a tag or real user name, it'd be "Tofu Master" or "Tofum" (my tag). I love tofu, I'm not a vegetarian, and I have a custom shirt that says "Tofu Master" and a custom blanket that my mom knitted that says "Tofu Master."

Heh heh, that game seems so long ago! I dont think I ever quite finished it though, I believe it was rather hard but I cant recall entirely.

I guess I should explain my name since Im posting here. I wanted a name change away from Tagxy for tournaments, and just came up with something quick. It was basically stolen from Paul Pierce because I liked it, but I still pretty much go by Tagxy aside from when I enter tournaments...which is rare anyways. The ! was because The Truth was taken.
