Are people still into the MK Wii over MK7 now these days?
I'm afraid so. Even though Mario Kart 7's Wi-Fi has been updated to remove the shortcut exploits from Wuhu Loop, Maka Wuhu, and GBA Bowser Castle 1, the fact that it's a handheld game is the primary reason for why you see way more Mario Kart Wii tourneys than Mario Kart 7 tourneys.

I've retired from Mario Kart Wii Wi-Fi, so I'm pretty much absent for all Mario Kart Wii tourneys. Besides, it gets quite dull when you have to use the uber bikes, or else you're going to lose.

If you can get past the fact that there's only a handful of viable choices, it doesn't get dull :bee:

Mk7 is boring imo.
And who cares if there is no character variety. We are playing it competitively.

Ok can we do 5:00 est? Friday(tomorrow)?
I can do that if everyone else can.

And it's not like you're completely screwed if you don't pick the best 3 bikes in MKWii. I use the Spear and Magikruiser just as much as the Flame Runner and Bullet Bike. And I can honestly say I've lost to someone who used Birdo + Super Blooper before.

Lol, speak for yourself, cuz I dont think anyone else thinks that way. The reason most of us like MKW > MK7 is because MKW is more rewarding to play. When you pull of shortcuts or glitches, you actually FEEL like you accomplished something as doing things like that are quite difficult. In MK7, everything is just so easy to do, or is just 'shroom over this gap in glider form for shortcut huehuehu'. Also, you dont have to use uber bikes to win, I dont know why you keep bringing that up. The luck factor in the game ALONE makes them viable, but also the fact that not every non Flame Runner is bad means you can win with other stuff like Final said. Sure, its easier to win with better bikes, just like its easier to win with better characters and such in other games, but there are quite a few viable options in this game.

I guess I'm just very annoyed with the standstill mini-turbo always defying the odds. But seeing as you've done way more Mario Kart Wii Wi-Fi races than me, I can't say much else than that.

Well now after reading I guess I should just stick with WK Wii. However I'd with my NTSC Wii out I could buy the JP version when I get back to Japan and work from that. Thanks for the feed back.

Duplicate Track Selection: In the case of a track being repicked, the person responsible will be penalized 10 points. It is important to note that if a duplicate track is picked by a random selection, no penalties will be given.

Why?

Because on Random, you don't know what the course will be. I think it be pretty stupid to give someone a penalty when it's not their fault that course was pick, cuz Random could be anything. =P

It is your fault because you gave the duplicate pick a chance to happen when you picked random.

You wanna penalize something you can't control... There's 32 courses in MKWII, it's not that person's fault if that one stage comes up again. Going into this whole "It's your fault because you gave it a chance" is pretty silly and unfair.

I'm with peachy.
I love Random.

And in free selection tourneys we should be able to pick it without fear of being penalized.
How often does a repick happen from random anyway?

Btw tomorrows tourney better be unranked. ?

It happens enough to be annoying

I remember one tournament only one person picked random

And we repeated >_>

Edit: the thing tomorrow has restrictions, so it shouldn't be ranked.

Ive never been Annoyed by it at all.

If everyone doesn't like it I guess we can abolish it. But otherwise you could just host a tourney with random banned.

And yah I'm gonna get like last with baby weegee.

Basically what Peachy said. There's a difference between someone intentionally choosing an already-played track, and someone who may not know/remember all tracks previously played and being safe, or someone timing out due to real-life occurrences. It'd be kinda lame to penalize them for something they may not be able to control. :p

I suppose that's fair. Also hopefully I can do well this time and I can do a Skype Call where you can clearly hear my voice without chewbacca. XD

Edit: Yay Page 1000.

I agree. Even if someone picks random and it happens to pick a track that has been picked already, there is no penalty.

I personally like random cuz there are only like, 4 courses I actually pick and if they have been picked I dont wanna try and decide in 10 seconds on a course I never vote for lol.

GGs guys. Top 4 was so close. ;p B[]x probably would have beaten me if he didn't get DCd.

So what's our next event going to be? Are we just going for a standard FFA?
